  1. Not to get into a Union bash, but I am from down there and I wonder how many in the Union voted the Democrat line and put the tool in office.

  2. I keep my own logs, but figured I'd try this...I'll start off warning that there is no kill at the end so you may not want to waste your time reading it. It's calling with mouth calls only, kinda catch and release. Today's location is in a no hunting area, but the fox here don't know it and are always very cautious. I enjoy hunting red fox, but I don't shoot them. I have no room for trophies and don't want to spend the time skinning them.I have journals documenting all that I have called in and have many memorable and close up photos. the hunt : This month I have called in five reds and decided to try for a few more today. I headed out this morning around 9 a.m.( i NEVER GET OUT EARLY). The temperature was in the 20's and it was overcast with a very light breeze.. I arrived at my private/secret location and headed into the woods. I have called this area through the years and am very familiar with the area. Today, there were a number of fox tracks in the areas where there was a coating of snow.. The woods were mostly dry and leaves crispy and good for hearing incoming fox.. Many times when I scout this area I can smell fox and set up for calling, but that did not happen this morning. After many unsuccessful locations using what I can best describe as a a flat bite call, I decided to try a bite down variable call. I started wailing like no animal in this area would do, but it sounded like some sort of tortured creature. Almost immediately, I heard the leaves behind me and as I turned I saw a red bearing down on my location. At less than 10 yards from me, after seeing my movement, it stopped and turned as if it had hit an electric fence and took off back into the woods. I have called many fox from this location and they had never come from that direction before.(fox #1). I moved off a little further and came to a field where I had never been successful, but looks promising, and I try it often. I saw three whitetails grazing at the edge of the far end of the field, well over 100 yards away to my left. I quietly took a stand set back into the woods a few yards from the field. The deer had observed me, but since they could not smell me, and I sat still against a tree to break my outline, they cautiously went back to grazing. I started low volume calling with negative results so decided to try my louder , more raspy, call. I began playing my tunes of torture and by the third set I noticed the whitetails turn their heads abruptly looking towards the woods directly and at least 150 yards away from me. I continued calling and looking where the deer were staring when a beautiful red came charging out and across the field towards me. It got within 75 yards when it slowed almost to a stop and turned. If I was a shooter and this was a shooting area, this would have been my shot. It then began to trot off to my right and I could not get it to return. I don't know why it spooked, the wind was perfect , I was masked, and didn't move. (fox #2). I decided that I would pick one more spot before I left, so I found an old area that I had success on previous occasions. I set up with a fallen tree behind me to break my outline. I began with the raspier call this time and almost immediately heard movement, possibly 50 yards in front of me, and to my right. I focused my old eyes on the area and a big, dark, almost maroon( I'm exaggerating) colored fox came out about 30 yards from me and stopped for a period of time apparently looking for his meal. WHATTA perfect shot that could have been !! It began walking away, almost confused, so I changed back to my flat call and used it as a coaxer. It turned on a dime and charged towards me until it saw me (I stupidly had taken off my face mask). It stopped abruptly and turned and circled me into the briars. I could hear it as it walked almost sounding as though it was pacing, and then it walked away (fox #3). I backtracked to attempt to find sign and although there was no visible sign in this non snow covered spot it left the unforgettable odor of fox (EAU Du Fox). I'm really getting to like that smell I have now educated quite a few of my red friends in this area so will probably not return until next year.(sometimes I even skip a year) This spot is one of my few spots left to call where I don't have to be concerned about educating fox and ruining for the predator guys. I found my piece of fox heaven in the 80's when I used to train my coon hounds there and it was then that I discovered the ancestors of my current quarry. It's location is locked in the vault of my brain and never disclosed even to family.

  3. Here is what he said about the naming. --"It's not soaring, beautiful, handsome, like the George Washington or the Verrazano. It's rugged, it's hard working -- and that's me." On the 59th Street Bridge being renamed for him in 2011. RIP Mr. Koch

  6. When he started out with his war against lawfull gun owners thing right after Sandy Hook he stated that he would even consider CONFISCATION. But went with Registration for now. Doesnt this really have some scary overtones to it. I really think alot of law abiding gun owners wont register just because of the comments made by our Fuhrer..

  7. I saw part of his state of the state address. When he was talking about gun control he yelled that is was about getting assault rifles off the street. Then, in his bill ,he puts magazine restrictions on most common pistols. This guy is dirty. Add liar to the list.

  8. I'll tell you what is scarey is this guy's skillful use of every underhanded way of operating. This slimey way that snuck this gun law through and then the "window-dressing" meetings he is orchestrating around the state that nobody knows about until it is impractical for gun enthusiasts to attend. It's all show-boating to show how diligent he is about making sure everybody understood the law. Or another way to look at it is that he is having fun showing the gun advocates how it is going to be for them in his state. He does seem to be a master of political dirty tricks the only difference is that his dirty tricks are not just aimed at opponents, but they are even more aimed at constituents as well. This guy is a real slime-bucket and even if I had nothing to do with guns, I would be scared to death of somebody that loves abusing his power as much as this creep does. His slippery tactics can be used on more than just gun owners. There is some signs that more people than just gun owners are starting to catch on to him.

  9. Let me explain something to you about the "real world". You break the law, you pay the price. Make it a felony, and the price gets a lot bigger. And when the dust all clears, there's no glory and hero-worship. There's no Bruce Willis wannabe walking triumpantly into the sunset. You just become another criminal locked up in the slammer or worse and if anybody thinks about you at all they are just thinking another gun nut got his proper due. That's the real world.

  10. Here is my recipe for smoked venison chili. 2# venison burger, separated into 6 1/3# balls smoked to an internal temp of 160 using hickory wood Two 14.5-oz cans petite diced tomatoes Two 14.5-oz cans petite diced tomatoes with green chiles 1 medium onion, chopped 2 packets chili mix 2 - 14.5 oz cans chili beans Venison balls will be done smoking in around three hours, depending on temperature of smoker. I run mine at 225 degrees. While venison is smoking, put all four cans of tomatoes, onion, and chili mix in a stock pot on stove over low heat, stirring occasionally. Being careful not to boil, you may turn off stove for 15-20 minutes and cover to retain heat. Once venison has reached 160 degrees, remove from smoker and crumble into pot. Add beans and cook over low heat until beans are tender. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve in bowls, topped with sour cream and oyster crackers if desired. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2

  11. It's a bit of a ridiculous question because there is no real comparison between giving up a first-born vs. registering a gun. But if your question is really asking if there is anything that the government could do that would stir me to defiance of the law or perhaps even open rebellion, the answer is absolutely yes. However, gun registration is not it. And, violence or law-breaking would not be my first thought or act. There would be a rather lengthy procedure involving trying every avenue of using the law to reverse whatever the grievance was. You see I do not use the threat of law breaking easily. It is not my first thought or act because I know where open defiance of the law would lead, and there really are no winners when that is what you resort to. So if I were to engage in defiant illegal acts or even recommend such acts, the grievance would have to be unimaginably severe with absolutely no legal avenues left to me. We're not even close on this one. I personally hold our system of laws in pretty high esteem and believe that the only reason we still have this country is because I and the vast majority of the citizens have this respect for laws. I believe that losing respect for the law is at the root of a lot of the problems that we face today. And warts and all, this is not a system that I am ready to have any part of trashing as long as there are still legal means to be pursued.

  12. Sounds to me Doc that you are a "I'm gonna lay down and get trampled by the government type of guy", This country wouldn't be this country if it wasn't for people becoming criminals and standing up for what they believe in, I was personally there but i have read in the history books of our fight against a tyrannical government called England AKA the Crown every person who resisted at that time was committing treason, This Country was founded on the fact that the people will not lay down and get mowed over by their government and in the Constitution we were given rights to be able to do so again, That's is why we as firearm owners need to stand up against this. The fact that you fear are government is ridiculous that is another reason we have a constitution, So i say you can hide in the corner and hope this all blows over or you can do what we all have the RIGHT to do and stand up against this tyrant we call government. JMHO

  13. You seem to be confusing "standing up for your rights" with criminal behavior. Understand that the first step in standing up for your rights does not involve felonious activity. Turning to anarchy as the first and only answer to government intrusions is not what I would call rational thought. We are a nation of laws and procedures, all of which have to be exhausted before we turn to confrontation and likely an armed conflict with a very bad end.

  14. People are losing their jobs left and right everyday, your "right" to own guns is obviously based on the governments consent, and your already considered a criminal by Cuomo. What's your point? You call that freedom?? God help us. No wonder we never get anywhere against these laws. What burns me, is that these same people who aren't willing to stand up for their rights, expect someone else to do it for them.

  15. The simple answer is "Yes". And also there is now the added benefit of achieving a condition of independence and not relying on a source of ammo that is always under threat of being regulated away, or becoming a source of ever-increasing harrassment by taxation and/or regulation. This is the time to get equipped and educated in the techniques of reloading, and also laying in a lifetime stockpile of needed components (or as close to that as you can practically acheive).

  20. Yep. Being a good has sure brought us gun owners positive outcomes. Perhaps that explains why we have the worst gun restrictions in the country? As for the public, people already have mindsets. They're not going to change. FYI, Andy, and the morons that cater to his agenda, have ALREADY painted us as savages. What in the hell is the point to this "niceness" bs? Sorry, but I tend to only be nice to those, who are nice to me. The rest can go to hell.

  21. Thats true, but Andy and the Dictator and the other Dictators are relying on us being painted as a bunch of lunatic neanderthal shoot-em-up creeps. I'm just saying let's not play into his hand and ultimately we will win.

  22. I'd tell my kids to take cover and play possum untill the gunfire stops in a situation like that. A random firing mass shooter isn't gonna be paying attention to who's already been shot and who hasn't.

  24. I feel your message, I think your message, but it isn't going to help the image of gun owners. Think about a parent in a store with their children reading your message. We need the support of the public, when it comes time to vote.

  27. If you register your guns, To me that is the same as rolling over and giving up your 2a rights as a law abiding citizen, Registration is the first step to confiscation,I don't care if i have 1 year or 10 years, You put your name on that registry you might as well hand them over at that point, Because its only a matter of time before they come to get them, When will be your best guess, Maybe the next time there is a mass shooting, They blamed the assault rifle for Sandy Hook now its a fact that the shooter didn't use an assault weapon he used pistols, So this whole Safe Act. is BS to begin with. A bunch of scared people acting on nothing more than lies fueled by media, JMHO. Even though my thoughts on the subject can be construed to be the same,
