  2. Has anybody seen this press release yet? Press Release: Olympic Arms, Inc. Announces New York State Sales Policy FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Olympic Arms is a staunch believer in and defender of the Constitution of thes United States, and with special attention paid to the Bill of Rights that succinctly enumerates the security of our Divinely given Rights. One of those Rights is that to Keep and Bear Arms. Legislation recently passed in the State of New York outlaws the AR15 and many other firearms, and will make it illegal for the good and free citizens of New York to own a large selection of legal and safe firearms and magazines. We feel as though the passage of this legislation exceeds the authority granted to the government of New York by its citizens, and violates the Constitution of the United States, ignoring such SCOTUS rulings as District of Columbia v. Heller - 554, U.S. 570 of 2008, McDonald v. Chicago - 561 U.S. 3025 of 2010, and specifically the case of United States v. Miller – 307 U.S. 174 of 1939. Due the passing of this legislation, Olympic Arms would like to announce that the State of New York, any Law Enforcement Departments, Law Enforcement Officers, First Responders within the State of New York, or any New York State government entity or employee of such an entity - will no longer be served as customers. In short, Olympic Arms will no longer be doing business with the State of New York or any governmental entity or employee of such governmental entity within the State of New York - henceforth and until such legislation is repealed, and an apology made to the good people of the State of New York and the American people. If the leaders of the State of New York are willing to limit the right of the free and law abiding citizens of New York to arm themselves as they see fit under the Rights enumerate to all citizens of the United State through the Second Amendment, we feel as though the legislators and government entities within the State of New York should have to abide by the same restrictions. This action has caused a division of the people into classes: Those the government deems valuable enough to protect with modern firearms, and those whose lives have been deemed as having less value, and whom the government has decided do not deserve the right to protect themselves with the same firearms. Olympic Arms will not support such behavior or policy against any citizen of this great nation. Olympic Arms invites all firearms manufacturers, distributors and firearms dealers to join us in this action to refuse to do business with the State of New York. We must stand together, or we shall surely fall divided. Sincerely, Brian Schuetz President Olympic Arms, Inc.

  5. Awesome !!!! Olympic arms did the same and I think every arms manufactuer in the country should follow. This pathetic, self serving little dictator of a governor should be told , by all gun manufactures and law abiding citizens, to stick it up his corrupt ars. Little piece of crap!!!! What type of guns are used by the security team that protects king Cuomo, and his live in squeeze????? single shot .22's??? Little piece of crap!!

  6. Many "break ins" are effected without any "breaking"...or little of it. As advised earlier: KEEP YOUR DOORS AND WINDOWS LOCKED!!! Rig some jimmy proof devices on doors and windows that are on the back side of your house, or are located where neighbors and passersby can't monitor them for you. Doors and windows that require actual "breaking" to get into your house often deter common burglars. Remember: Thieves want to get in and out quickly, and as quietly as possible. Anything you can do to slow them down will help.

  7. It's the time of the year when a bunch of guys will spend tons of money on something that will just wither and die a week later. Some of these guys will even buy flowers for them. I already got everything done yesterday. A day early but it works out since she comes home late on Wednesdays.

  9. Yep- The Crystal Springs subdivision comes to mind when you mention that. Used to see a lot of slammin' bucks cruizing through there even as the dozers were plowing everything down. I used to cringe at the thought of how many antlers they were burrying with every pass. I found quite a few dead deer along that stretch of woods while I was working there. Always wondered how many of them were casualties of the bait and shoot program. It really is too bad they never let hunters in there to get things under control. Any time cynthiafu! I have a doctors appointment today, then I'll be hiking out the back door of her office this afternoon, lol. Maybe we could schedule our appointments accordingly and haul out some bones for the good doctors to examine. Might be a good idea to get our heads examined while we're there, lol. Sams got the right idea!

  10. In their 30's? If I think way way back to when I was in my 30's...LOL. I was a new Father at 30. I had bought my first house at 30. maybe the draw in that age group really is the fact that less practice is needed to become proficient. I know I was tied up in growing my career and there were 4 years in my 30's that becasue of travel for work and home life I was unable to practice with my bow to a level that I felt the confidence that I needed. I did not buy a bow license those years and only gun hunted. If I had access to a crossbow and it was legal I may have still gotten the license and got a few days in . If that age group really does have a draw to the cross bow, I can see what it may actually be.

  11. Get a permanent screen going ASAP. There are deer on a bag screen mixes available. Egyptian Wheat is one. Given you have zero equipment, you're over thinking and over-planning yourself imo. If corn is what you want, to supplement the clover plot... 7 Acres? Cash rent the ground to the farm closest...let them plant corn on all 7, give them 5 for the service and require that they leave 2 standing next to the timber. Make sure the contract includes replenishing the soil. Think about it...outside of planting the temp/permanent screen...you're effort is minimal and you can better spend your time scouting, prepping, etc. It'd be wonderful if you can block in a small section in the corner to plant a brassica/radish mix. That way you'd have the corn that is left up surrounding the brassica/radish and a clover plot next door. That's not too much work on your part...just gotta get the farmer to sign on the line. With the price of corn these days, 5 acres of corn should be enough to make it worth his while to plant/maintain the rest.

  14. It's not just the heat ....... How about the spikey-fanged, slithering things. You know those creepy critters that don't even have the decency to get up and walk at you. I don't want anything to do with those. I don't even like the non-lethal ones that we have around here. Now, if somebody invents a pair of snake-bite boots that zip up over the top of your head, maybe I would consider walking around in the tall grass down there, enjoying hunting all those pigs and stuff.

  16. Not as many lately as the bait and shoot program took out a lot of deer! It would be nice if they would allow some limited bow hunting in the town.

  17. Darn, If predator season wasn't almost over I'd buy one. Are they brand new in box? Do they have a brand name/website so I can view specs?

  18. This is the pic of the horn I found in September after putting up a tree stand. Notice the green on the tips as it was burried upside down in wet ground. Found this one while walking along a logging road, it was hanging on a branch 3 ft. off the ground. Went out for an hour after work today no sheds, moved my trail camera to check out another area.

  21. Virgil- I don't know whether it escaped your notice or not, but 4 of the 5 resources that you linked were simply partnering onto the studies done by this Al Kellermann. So in your attempt to show a huge number of studies done by 5 different researchers, you failed to point out that every one of these so-called studies were done by the same lead researcher. Yes I will say that someone who seems to have specialized in anti-gun studies certainly does raise credibility concerns. This guy apparently makes his living from trying to arrive at a predetermined bias. I will say that his studies may be on the up and up, but I wouldn't base my entire opinion based on one guy who appears to have an axe to grind. Ever hear the phrase, "figures don't lie, but liars figure"? I am not saying that this is the case here, but the anti-gun lobby has deep pockets and certainly can afford the best anti-gun studies that money can buy. So, I am not about to recommend that people dispose of their weapons in their homes based on these studies. Also, any study that includes suicide and accidents, fails to account for the fact that those intent on committing suicide do not require a gun to do so, and there is no evidence given that the gun in the home was the cause of the suicide or that it wouldn't have happened by other means if the gun was not present. I see the inclusions of suicides just an irrelevant attempt at inflating the body count to match the desired outcome. And if we are going to add in accidents, we also have to admit that accidents by firearms are insignificant in number compared with other forms of accidents. Maybe what the author has successfully proven is that the home can be a dangerous place....lol. I think I could have guessed that without this guy Kellermann sucking up all that research money. Seriously, if the purpose of your linking these supposed stats was to show that people should pitch their home defense weapons, I'm afraid you failed.

  27. I had a young buck charge me several times one morning on the way to my blind in the dark. Shined my headlamp right in his face but he kept on coming at least 3 x's within feet of me even when I hit the deck. It may have had something to do with the 1/2 bottle of Tinks I accidently spilled on my hunting clothes the day before though..

  28. You cannot get statistics of the number of times criminals thought about mugging someone or robbing a home but never actually acted on it because of the assumption that the person/home owner might have a gun.

  29. If the kid did or didnt have a weapon doesnt matter IMO. Beating a 70 year old man could easilly result in his death. Im glad the little puke is no longer a problem for the rest of us.
