I agree with the letters to congressman, senators, and lah-dee-dah, but the original post was directed towards hunting forums. Belo, do you know you start more fires than you put out? Give up on the t.v. crap. It makes me think thats all you do, since you talk about that stuff so much. Edit.... forgot some punctuation, sorry language police.2 points

Doing a multi day canoe trip in the Daks with a friend, we found container (55gal drums cut) of pot plants off the beaten path looking for a tent site. At the river side head of the trail was a huge whitish boulder....I took a old fire charred log left right there and put " free pot plants" and a great big arrow pointing the way. Took a dump in one of the containers. LOL 2 years ago in a ravine I have walked 100's of times for 24+ years and after Irene; I found a glass insulator for telegraph lines just barely sticking out of the duff. After doing some reasearch and asking some collectors about how that string of poles might be run, found 2 more. Worth a couple hundred bucks a piece because of the color and defects contained in them. Wish I could find more of that line! Paid for part a nice scope set up for a 300WBY. Spooky when I bought my property......it had a small home built by squatters who decided to live on someone elses property; they had been kicked out about 5 years prior to me buying. Along the driveway I noticed a series of shallow depressions in a row, about ten of them. Dug three up, and each had just a full grown dog skeleton and each head had a hammer head sized hole right in the top.......no lower jaw bones in any of them. In the walls of the house were little girls clothes and paintings of kids having no arms/heads/legs; done childish cartoon like. Not like one or two, but like 50 paintings done on cardboard box sides. I still have some of them somewhere in the attic......(called the police and they looked at them) Got to admit it still freaks me out a bit on a dark night out here in the sticks.....alone........LOL2 points

Let's just put out of our minds for a quick second that most of us don't trust the Govt. (Just go me on a list for that one...lol) I would really like to see a permit like a drivers license and have it be national. I passed my background check so I should be able to drive from NY to CA with my firearms (pistols included). Everyone should have the same standard of evaluation. This one county not issuing a standard CC permit without restrictions to the hoops you guys in the cespool...I mean NY City... have to go through to get a carry long gun, say nothing about a pistol permit, While the other end of the spectrum in states Maine you just need a drivers license. Nuts. I wish it were standard. I keep hearing the arguments that these new laws are needed nad it will fix the problems. I have read so many articles, studies and statistics my head spins. I just don't see it. It this approach were so effective then wouldn't our streets be drug free? We have laws on laws to make possession sale and use of illegal drugs, well, illegal.1 point
-
I can see that, but it also brings up the issue of a firearms ownership database, which is illegal. Lets also not forget that long guns are in the vast minority when it comes to gun crimes anyhow. I dont really disagree with some sort of national handgun permit system, similar to NY's but not left to each county's discretion, etc. It would need to be a uniform set of rules. I do not agree with this sort of thing for long guns.1 point
-
And BTW, if I were to sell my gun to another guy without a background check today, who would be the wiser? Without a complete gun registry, its a useless law.1 point
-
Oh, you bet. They are now into the business of stretching definitions and pulling off any kind of misuse of the law. And if they can sell people on the basis of nasty appearance, they'll do it in a minute. The bad news is that they apparently don't have to justify it to anybody once the law is imposed.1 point

Yep, it was one of the cams right around the corner from where I work. The one right on the street I work on was faulty as well. I see them going off all the time. It snaps one of you if you make a right on red, which at some of the intersections is legal. I have no idea how I havent gotten a ticket in the mail yet. Yellow means floor it after all lol.1 point

You laugh! ...... These are some other guys that are yet to be heard from. Wait until they get the feeling they are being discriminated against. Sure enough, someone will have to ask why they don't have a special season or get shoved into what is becoming a "diminished capability season"..... lol. Think about it... muzzleloaders have a special season, bows have a special season, those poor guys have got to be wondering why they don't have a special season ..... right? Give them some time, eventually they most likely will be trying to push their way into the "early season" too. Ha-ha-ha .... I love this thread. It is getting more and more ridiculous by the page ..... lol.1 point

5.9. Thanks for the site, some interesting info. The reason I am going after this info is our town is actually trying to support the NYS SAFE ACT. There is a public comment period and I have 5 minutes to get my point across. I would like some cold hard facts rather than the typical rhetoric these people are use to hearing. Other memebers of my sportsmans club will be speaking as well. Thanks1 point

And again! Interesting night to say the least. Alarm was triggered at a little after midnight. Confirmed coyote with binocs then grabbed the 22-250. Waited for a broadside shot and fired. Thought it was a good one at first, it went down, then to my disappointment stood up broadside again! No problem, shoot again right? Wrong! I had only grabbed one bullet! Went running (in the dark) for another, banged my shin on the trailer hitch, swore a few times, got back, loaded up and...nothing, couldn't find it. Long story short, I followed a very meager blood trail about 300 yards to the woods. Decided I didn't want to tackle a pissed off coyote in the woods at night with my 22 pistol, so returned to the house. Before I even tried to get back to sleep, guess what? Yep, alarm triggered AGAIN at about 12:50. This time I did not wound her. DRT. Oh, and I brought TWO bullets this time. Lesson learned. So this scraggly thing has no tail! Can see where she used to have one, now it's just a 2" stump! And no, it's NOT the one I wounded the first time. Tail had been missing for a long time and was completely healed. :-) That thought crossed my mind too! #12, adult female:1 point

do it just like a chicken pot pie, substituting the venison for chicken. I will post my recipe for that later....trying to get my daughter off to school 3 tbsp butter 3 tbsp flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp thyme 1/8 tsp pepper 3/4 cup chicken broth ( I would use beef broth for the venison) 3/4 cup whipping cream 2 cups cooked chicken/ venison 1- 10oz package froz peas/ carrots 1 cup small whole onions ( cocktail style) 2 pie shells ( one for filling, the other to lattice over the pie) heat butter over low heat until melted. Stir in flour salt, pepper, thyme and cook stirring until it's smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat, stir in broth and cream heat till boiling stirring constantly, for 1 min. Add venison, peas, carrots, onions. Mix in pot then transfer to pie shell. Use extra pie shell to make a lattice over pie. Bake 35-40 mins @ 450. Enjoy1 point

This is from Gun Rights Across America - New York Chapter (on facebook) The Rally is over and we have about a week to catch our breath before the next actions ramp up. We CANNOT let up on this for a minute! Operation Sheriff Reach is March 13th, and once that is completed, we will be going forward with state-wide County Rallies, so get ready, Organizers! Mike will be posting and up-dated list tonight with the counties still in need of Organizers, and we need to pay special attention to the ones that have not yet adopted a resolution against the Safe Act. The County-Wide Rallies are tentatively scheduled for March 23rd and will be a combined effort of the Pro-2A Groups United, Lisa Donovan's Page, GRAANY and NYSRPA. Speaking of Counties, I would like to take a moment to thank those of you who had my back in the Hudson Alderman issue. As a Citizen's Advocate and Incumbent Watcher, I am accustomed to Hate Mail and lots of derision, so this outpouring of support from the BEST that NY has to offer, was not only a surprise, but an inspiration to keep me fighting by your sides. This story has gone NATIONAL, and even Breitbart wants to talk! So that's in our favor! Congressman Chris Gibson called me at the end of the Rally to Thank GRAANY for supporting the 2A and to express his outrage with the Hudson Officials. Another pleasant surprise! So even though my car was towed during the rally and it cost me $165.00 to get it back, it's all good ! LOLOL! Hey, there were NO No Parking signs and we PAID for parking, so go figure. I would be willing to bet that our Governor gave orders for as much towing as possible to go on, since it was the Capitol State Police who had the cars towed, NOT the Albany P.D. I want to mention the good folks who came to our rescue at the last minute to provide some Patriotic music for the rally. Ed Sarro was the DJ that provided the music and stood in ankle-deep mud to do it. Thank you Ed, and we will remember you when we or anyone we know, needs a good DJ! Also, to Lisa, Bill and Doug who offered music, Thank You! Tom King and company, you guys did a great job putting this rally together and you beat the Jan. 19 numbers by 50 to 100% !!! We are growing, we are united, we are being heard across the country and we are determined ! We also happen to be RIGHT and have the LAW on our side! So NO SURRENDER!1 point
