Biden/Harris 2020!
Deleted Account replied to Delete's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
You know, very wise and dear friend once told me that “it’s unfair to place your values on another, and expecting others to abide by your morals leads to disappointment.” I’ll never forget that advice, and truer words have never been spoken to me. So long... -
Thank you!

Trump Stupidity
Deleted Account replied to Rattler's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I've been hesitating to comment on this, but I'll throw a few out. I will say I don't think Trump is stupid, however, I don't like him, and I don't support most of his agenda. I know many on here will disagree with me, and that is fine, I have no issues. 1. The biggest thing against Trump for me is that I don't like him. I don't like how he treats people. I don't like how he sells his ideas. I don't see him as a leader, I don't see him as a positive representation of the best of our country on the world stage. He talks too much, and most of what he says is false, misleading or plain preposterous. 2. I think the tax cuts were short sighted and slanted towards the wealthy. The individual tax cuts end in 2025, while business cuts are perpetual. The cuts have exploded the national debt. 3. I didn't care for his supreme court picks. Being left on many social issues, I did not support either Gorsuch or Kavanaugh because of their hard conservative records. Not knocking anyone for being on the other side, but it's where I stand. 4. I think the wall was a stupid piece of red meat to fire up his base. It's a lot of money for something that is pretty widely regarded as ineffective. 5. Our country is more divided on politics now than it has ever been. Need proof, just cruise through this sub-forum. I miss the days when people could accept differences and work on commonalities. Trump is a product of this division, and he knows it. It got him elected in 2016, and it is his primary driver for 2020. I would really like to get past the "us vs. them" mentality and back to sense of normalcy. Now, I understand that this division is driven hard from both sides, but Trump plays the game as well as anyone. 6. I think his response to the Corona Virus, early on was terrible. Sure they lean hard on the "he shut down travel", but he also went on TV saying that we were safe, we are at 15 cases headed to 0, that the virus would disappear, promoted unproven and dangerous treatments. I really thought at one point he was backing off and letting the experts kind of take control, but he's back out there refusing to demonstrate good leadership, not wearing a mask and pushing dangerous ideas. This is just a short list, I'm sure there are more reasons that I could list if I thought about it, but it really all boils down to the fact that I don't like him, and I will not be voting for him in 2020. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind, and I respect the opinions of those of you who support him. I'm sure my 6 points will be ripped to shreds by those who like to "debate" on here, but I really don't care to respond, so type away you keyboard patriots Take care everyone! -
Corona Virus Thread

Eh, it is what it is based on the political make-up of the group. I have some friends who are republicans and some who are democrats, and there is a certain percentage of each side that are just as combative as the other. I've seen my fair share of disgusting Trump memes over the past few years that's for sure. -

You know though, they're being made to hit both sides. The whole idea is to spread division, and they are very good at it. -

It's because most of them are being made at Russian troll farms -

A Sleeper Hold works well if you can catch them...

They are such finicky things, just because 2 spots are the same doesn't mean they both have mushrooms. This probably comes down to spores just not being in one place vs another. We definitely had half a dozen spots that we would hit every weekend, and if you went some place else, you wouldn't be surprised to come up with zilch.

I always heard ash trees, but that was never a sure thing. Some of my best honey holes back home were abandoned railroad beds, no idea why.

Looks good to me, kind of a Hemingway look. I grew mine out to a couple of inches this past winter before trimming it. I shaved it off at the end of March and am just now getting enough to tug at again. Remember, it only takes a few seconds to shave it, but can take weeks or months to get it back if you change your mind, so try to avoid the spur of the moment shave

Thanks for sharing that thing, I have never seen that model. Super cool! I hope the trade goes through! -
A "pecker head" for reference.

We used to find shopping bags full of morels when I lived in Illinois. It was a weekend ritual to load up in the truck and hit the woods looking for mushrooms, peckerheads (I'm sure there is a more common name, but that's what dad always called them) and we'd even find some beef steak mushrooms occasionally. Nothing better than friend mushrooms in the spring, but too many would have you staking a spot in the bathroom for a while. I haven't even been out to look for any since we have lived in NY, I had someone tell me that morels didn't grow here. Now I need to get out and take a look around. Here is a photo my brother sent me back at the end of March (growing season is reliably about a month ahead back in Illinois) of some that he found.

Looks like a Yellow Crowned Night Heron, though it does look like it's uncommon.
