My neck of the woods . I built and own a camp in central Maine . Its really a house but we call it " going up to the camp " . Where are you vacationing up in Maine ? Sounds and looks like Bar Harbor .

Was there any outcome or resolution to this incident ? I ran into the same thing about 10 years ago in Maine . I found 3 deer thrown over a bank 100 yards in on the logging road I walk in on to hunt . The logging road is drivable for about 1/2 mile then turns into a trail. There were 2 bucks that had the skull cap sawed off and a big doe. Two of them had the legs cut off at the knees. Only one of them was gutted . I called it in to the authorities when I found it. A week later I got a call back from a game warden that said that one deer was dumped there by the state police and 2 were dumped by the F+G Dept . They were all road kills. The 2 whole deer were found road kills not worthy of being distributed for consumption and the gutted deer a fresh road kill but was determined it was too smashed up .. The legs were cut off so the hooves would not scratch up the vehicle while in the transport basket in the back . This made sense because the legs were there just thrown into a pile. This was on a 10 square mile block of timber company land . I have seen a deer or two dumped in the same spot since then. I didn't bother calling because I now knew where they likely came from. At least they called me back.

Oh Great ! I am at best a casual drinker. A real lightweight in that department. Maybe have 6 beers in a year. And 3 of those would be with dinner at hunting camp in Maine. The other 3 would be scattered over the year going out to dinner with the wife. Since I have come to this site I have bought 3 different kinds of Ale. Now my wife is looking at me funny wondering if I am becoming an " IPA holic " . Are you trying to finish me off by pushing me over the cliff with that poster pic ? So many IPA flavors ! Sawyers is a water based mix with .5 percent permethrin. I can make 4 1/2 gallons of the same .5 percent permethrin mix buying a quart of the water based Martins 10 percent permethrin for the same price as buying two 24 oz bottles of Sawyers. The mix is identical to the Sawyers with no scent when it dries. On the Sawyers bottle it says " Effective Through 6 Washes " . I have found that to be correct. They made a suggestion that if you are putting your outfit in the dryer after washing , to turn the outfit inside out.

GH Use the liquid spray bottle permethrin mix on your clothes . You can smell the aerosol on your hunting clothes for days . Permethrin has no scent , but aerosol does. I use the Martins which is made by Controlled Solutions like others here have mentioned. Its a great product that saves a ton of money compared to buying the premixed Sawyers . But one thing that everyone should watch for. Make sure you buy the water based mixes. Do not buy the pretroleum mix. Any mix that says its more than 10 percent permethrin is most likely petroleum based . Just check the labels before you buy . Even some 10 percent mixes are petroleum based. And they will leave your clothes smelling like engine oil. The Controlled Solutions ( Martins ) 10 percent mix I know is water based.

Baked Stuffed Cousa Zucchini Boiled and canoed with a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Filled with a mix of hamburger, diced baby zucchini , diced fresh tomatoes , diced onions , and canned mushrooms. ( I am not going in the woods to find fresh ones ! LOL ) Topped with another layer of marinara sauce and mozzarella and cheddar cheese blend

Stuffed Zucchini Cut the stem off and a small slice off the other end. Then cut it in half the long way. Boil the 2 pieces in a long baking pan on the stove until slightly soft but not mushy. Dig them out like a canoe. Precook some hamburger in a sauce pan mixed with onion ,peppers mushrooms or whatever veggies and spices you like. Mix in some marinara sauce and some cheese in the mix while its hot. Line the bottom of the zucchini with some marinara sauce and fill the canoe with the mix. Then cover the mix with some marinara sauce or sliced tomatoes and cover them with your choice of cheese. Mozzarella , cheddar , or the one I like is the 4 cheese mix . Bake until cheese is melted and then its YUMMY TIME ! Dig In ! By the way. Dont throw away the insides you dug out . Sprinkle a little salt and a few drops of lemon juice and enjoy them t ! Delicious ! Seeds and all ! I call this my bonus meal and have it while the zucchini is cooking in the oven .

Big Mistake Leaving ! I only say that because of one experience I had. I'm not sure if you know what a Loggy Bayou stand is. I was climbing a tree before legal light with this stand. The climbing aid on these stands can have a little metal clunk while climbing. I just got to the height I wanted to be at .With my TC White Mountain Carbine slung over my shoulder and my foot stretched back lifting the seat up, I hear something come running in. I looked down and there is a big rack 8 point looking around wondering where the other buck is . Between the stand rubbing on the bark, and the soft metal noises made by the climbing aid , this buck thought I was another buck invading his territory. So here I am holding the tree standing on one foot with one foot stretched out holding the seat thats half way up.. He stood there for at least a minute staring in every direction. He walked off stiff legged looking around for the other buck before I could slide my gun off my shoulder. I have never been able to call a buck in rattling with horns , but I call one in with my tree stand ! LOL

I WOULD NOT put regular gas in that thing. The lantern and stove fuel burns very slow . Regular gas goes BOOM ! Not to mention the gas would give off toxic fumes.

I have a similar one but much newer. Probably the late 90's . Mine uses those disposable screw in propane tanks. The cylinder in front must be your fuel tank. Whats in it ? My son and his buddies would use it for tailgating at the Patriots games
