  1. Wow that really came out great. Awesome work of art, he looks amazing! Congrats.
  2. Sometimes the hunter knows exactly how old the deer is because he has pictures since it was a yearling. Just figured I would ask.
  3. Do you know his age? Looks like an amazing 3 or really nice 4 to me, body says 4 to me but his neck and head just look younger to me, his rack screams 4.
  4. OK I am moving west! lol What amazing looking deer! Thanks for sharing!
  5. Sounds like you got a great deal, good luck with the gun! My buddies have a few browning guns they are well made and shoot great!
  6. How those butterflies can travel like they do is amazing to me! Cool pic!
  7. Cedar Creek but I am not sure you can shoot broadheads. I don't see any rules on the web site, here is a link to the contact page. https://www.facebook.com/pg/Cedar-Creek-Archery-555206197857763/about/?ref=page_internal
  8. I have done a few. Usually at the start of the season I will do a few and sometimes during the rut when all hell brakes loose! Hard to leave when activity is in a frenzy. Last few days of the season in January I might do a few more. I can only do this in a tree, when I am on the ground I tend to move locations at least a few times a day. Not easy to do a full days sit and my hat goes off to anyone who can! As I get older I find I need to stretch more and MORE!
  9. Very cool, I hope you have another 30+ years together and the years only get better and better!
  10. I would go after him early season, he might not be around for gun season as the rut is on and he will be traveling to other areas. Good luck with him! He is a beauty!
  11. Looks good! Wishing you much success this season!!!
  12. Haaa! No bad mouthing my Helium! lmao The elite synergy is really nice, smooth and very easy shooting. I have been looking at the bows Elite makes and hope they produce something I really like next year. Nothing this year really caught my eye.
  13. Don't judge a bow by brand! Ask them to set up 3-5 bows all at the same draw length, poundage and let off. Then shoot each one judging the bow on how it feels when: Drawing Letting down back wall/valley Most of all feel. If you like the feel of one bow, then that is the one you use regardless of brand. I can take 20 bows and a pro will shoot X's with all of them! That is why one year you will see a pro using Elite and another year Mathews then 2 years later he is a Bowtech guy.
  14. Another thing for the PETA people to protest great. I lasted about 30 seconds of the video. And people think our way of hunting is cruel! This was the reality that allowed most of us to exist, hunting was performed with a spear for many many moons. Some cultures are still in the dark ages or have to perform ceremonial hunts! Looks to me like they need some compound bows or we should introduce them to black powder. I skimmed through the rest of the video, not my cup of tea.
  15. Join the dark side Biz! What bows are you looking at?
  16. Stop at the dumps just before Indian lake, they are everywhere! If you can get access to bear trap swamp that is a good area with some decent population. Just getting access is the issue. The hunting club in that area puts some presser on those woods but I always saw some bear and sign all over the place when I did hunt that spot. Good luck!
  17. Not sure what site that was but if this is legit it was never entered into the records. Many hunters would like to claim a 200 inch buck but that does not look like one to me even though it is a dark picture. Also the Boon and Crockett has additional measurements that seem to be missing from this sheet. This is an example of one that is 200 inches. 18. All fun till one of your friends or you slip up like this. Only takes a moment of distraction for this to happen.
  19. Do enough crazy things and your life will get cut short! Sometimes the adrenaline rush is fun but think before you do something crazy. Ask yourself this: If things go wrong with this, how bad can I get hurt, is death possible? Is this a smart thing to do or am I just trying to impress someone, is it worth killing myself over?
  20. Went to Haines falls many years ago with friends. My one friend had to go under the falls where is was steep and nothing to hold onto, this was very dangerous and the DEC officer said someone fell off the week before so he stopped all the stupidity thankfully! I think that was when I determined that messing with extremely high elevation was off my list plus I already jumped out of a good plane to try a static jump. That was fun until the shoot cord latched on my wrist and did not open up right away, fun times!
  21. I have one climber that has been used a few times. Bought a ladder stand for my buddies area out east. We typically set up about 10 stands and have about 10 that we leave in the woods year round probably about 7-8 properties. I am trying to get my buddy to set up now but he always waits till 2 weeks before the season. Be safe! Setting up stands and climbing into our stands is the time we are most likely to get hurt! Use a life line!!! We had one of our friendly PETA people cut the safety harness on one stand a few years back and the guy broke his leg in 3 places, always check your stands when getting into them in the dark! Personally I love to still hunt so after the first few days in stand I do what Biz does and also like to stalk when hunting presser is low.
  22. Like stated the nutrition is poor especially on Fire Island, poor food plus over population = small deer in general. Many area's need population control but don't think this is the standard throughout Long Island. Many public area's have low population and the deer tend to stay on private land during the day then go into the public area's at night once the hunting presser is on. Makes me laugh when people say you are not doing your job if you let a doe pass, like they know exactly what is happening in the woods I hunt.
