  1. yeah worse idea ever, winner so now everyone should be allowed to kill 4 scrub bucks a year, uh NO and killing bucks don't help reduce deer number, that would be shooting does, if anything we should go to a 1 buck limit not 4
  2. I used to hunt in full camo, then I joined this website, an seen how many guys from the city come up to hunt now it's blaze orange, I built a lite blaze orange led sighn that straps on my back and I still don't feel safe hahahahahahaha
  3. DAMN SON, you got served now where's that squatch on a pogo stick
  4. I love mine, great battery life, great pics,
  5. this will be my first year so no, however I did stick my hand in a foothold MB550, figured it would happen sooner or later, so I just got it out of the way
  6. good work , we went last Sunday, 1st time in 10 years, no birds but it was good to get out,
  7. good luck guys I wont be setting any traps until next sat, then it's on,
  8. I payed around 50$ for my hand muffs, best investment ever I got the one for duck hunters, has a pocket in the front so it doubles as a fanny pack, fits a small thermos in the front pocket, hands never get cold
  9. nope can't be, impossible, they don't breed until Nov15, haha congrats sounds like an awesome encounter, great pics
  10. I've always hated smart phones, until a couple months ago my wife handed me one and said use it the only app I use is google earth, love it on my computer, and it's great for in the feild scouting
  11. 20 30 40 50 100 this is just for novelty shooting,
  12. it could be pure luck, or maybe the old timer knew what he was doing, growing up there was an old timer, always sat in an old pine, I had plenty of laughs at the old timer, he's never going to kill anything there, no sign at all low and behold he killed a buck there almost every year, why? it was a natural escape route, every year when the shooting started, bucks would use it as a back door escape route, but maybe it was luck
  13. congrats to your son and you, my first legitimate heart shot, didn't leave one drop of blood, useing muzzy broadheads
  14. about 5 years ago, my brother made the same shot on a 140" 10 point, no recovery 3 weeks later our neighbor killed a big 10, went and looked at the deer same deer with a scare high in the shoulder while cutting it up, they found 12" of arrow and broadhead in the backstrap, arrow hit turned 90degrees and stayed in the backstrap, he was all healed up and chaseing a doe when he got shot, maybee he will make it
  15. biz, if you travel like you hunt, you'll need 3 guides just to get to buffalo 1 to lead the way 1 to pat you on the back and tell you it's ok 1 to carry all your tissues by the way, I hope you get a speeding ticket, and they take your drivers license for EVER...hahaha
  16. every year it's the same thing with you people, anyone who gets in another person stand without permission is a scumbag, who don't deserve to be called a hunter by your logic, while your out hunting public land I should be able to jump in your car and hang out, listen to the radio? it's on a public highway right, you want your car left alone, by your own road
  17. if you dig deep enough you'll find that shed hunting on state land is also illegal, by the letter of the law you can't keep anything from state land you got to love ny
  18. shooting deer is like chaseing woman, you probably wouldn't ask your buddy which one you should go after shoot what you like, like what you shoot the problem is, we all think we know what we're talking, when it comes to ageing deer the reality is, most are not that good at it, but let ego get in the way i spent some time around a cornell biologest, while he was ageing deer by jawbone, evan with a chart in front of them, 100% of the hunters were wrong one doe 80# was marked as a yearling, it was actually 8 1/2 years old and anyone who says they wouldn't shoot a 150" buck because it's only 2 1/2 is full of sh**
  19. I have a encore, and a contender I would not recommend it personally, don't get me wrong they're great guns, however for what barrels cost, you're better off buying a different gun for different hunts, you can get a pretty nice ruger American and save enough money to buy a decent shotgun and every one would rather own two guns
  20. not any more, 1. if rifle is allowed for deer, you can use a rifle at night 2. if shotgun only, you may now use a centerfire, smaller than .22 somthing like .204 or .17 hornet
  21. i bought a little bullet thurmos, fits in a cargo pocket perfectly i've shared many a cup of coffee, with a doe or two , I quit smoking [ except for the ocasional cigar] I'm not giving up coffee
