what is acceptable accuracy with your bow?

I thought I had missed a deer this past season . Waited a few minutes and got down to check . Went back and forth until I found blood . The deer was hit farther out in the field than I thought . Tracked it down and recovered it . Don't assume it wasn't hit even when there is no blood in the spot where it stood when you shot . -
Levy played the father in "American Pie" . Funny guy . His son Dan plays his son in "Schitt's Creek" and does a great job playing a gay man .... at least I think he was playing .

I broke a tooth while chewing one .....

I skip over a lot of the forums that I am not interested in seeing . I rely on a few members that I get notifications from about spammers , foul language , inappropriate pictures / posts etc..

I stopped in to Spectrum / Time Warner in Webster this afternoon . I can eliminate $11.75 by eliminating one of the boxes . If I do away with Cable but keep Internet and the land line , it would reduce my cost to $84.98 plus taxes . I need the land line for faxing . The woman told me that if I cancelled and came back a month later , I would be considered a new customer and would probably get a promotional deal . I am still contemplating as to what I want to do . I disconnected the box from the TV near my computer and everything is still working fine thru the ROKU . Will check out the main TV in a couple days and saee what happens when the box is disconnected .

Time Warner went to Spectrum and the prices went up . The only reason that I have a land line is for sending / receiving faxes . With tax , that runs about $24 a month . My total cost for Spectrum is $176 ( TV , Internet , phone and other charges ) . The extra box costs me $11.75 ( box & The Guide ) . The Bundled services run $115 per month which includes - Preferred TV with standard Internet . I get a crap load of channels that I never use . I pay $10.80 a month for Internet Modem Lease . If I buy my own modem for $70 , I can eliminate that monthly charge . Gotta really start thinking about what I want to do instead of just talking about it .

Apparently the buck that I shot under by expecting him to drop down didn't know the rules . I aimed low for the drop at 35 yards . The buck didn't jump the string and the arrow passed under him . He didn't bolt or look my way and just moved on . -
Are there any books or other literature on how to train a young dog to find sheds ? My son acquired a German Short Hair pup . So far all it can find is ATV tracks . Nick is wondering how to train the pup .

I am talking about a COMPOUND BOW .... not a crossbow . I wouldn't be shooting 30 bolts a day with a crossbow . The conversation was about shooting a bow . With practice and confidence in your shooting , there is little room for error . -
Never heard of them until Phade mentioned the Trace cams . I have 6 of them . The locks that secure the batteries and SD card are cheap plastic . Someone broke into one of them and took the SD card . The case itself was cable locked to the tree . That camera still works . The swamp is flooded so the deer are traveling different routes than normal .

If there is an "apocalypse" , will crossbows still be illegal ?

Are you serious ? Limit yourself to 20 yards ? I have taken deer out to 37 yards . With practice you could take them farther away . I was told that deer jump the string and they would drop down to load their legs to make the jump . I made a mistake on a buck at 30 yards and aimed low expecting him to drop . Shot under him and he just walked away . Never did that again and it was when I first started bow hunting . I shoot in my back yard and have a treestand 30 yards from my backstop . I also have a 3-D deer and a few other bag targets that I can place at various distances . The farthest I can shoot in my yard is about 36 yards . My neighbor used to let be stand close to his house so I could shoot farther but my arborvitaes have grown so I cannot shoot over them . I like to shoot 4-5 times a week and limit myself to 30 shots on each outing . Some days I will go out twice . It gets me off of my lazy ass and I get some exercise . After the 1st couple times out , I don't shoot for groups and instead shoot the 3" circles . So sense in ruining arrows or ripping vanes . When I am in the 3" circle at 30 yards I am confident that I am ready but will continue to shoot all summer . Most of the deer I have killed with an arrow have been between 15-25 yards . The closest was 7 yards but I was 20' up in a tree . I had 3 bucks pass below my stand and shot the last one . So , I shoot as much as I can during the summer months just to keep the muscles stretched and in working order . At 76 , I need this . In a week or two I plan to start shooting in the basement a couple times a week . I am limited at 11 yards in the basement . -
I am a bit leery about buying boots on line as some are a true fit whereas some brands vary in size ........

I am considering a pair of Rocky Core 1000 gram hunting boots . One review had 8 Five Stars and 1 One Star 9 The one star was when the guy sliced the boot on a sharp object . Saw some other reviews that were very positive . https://www.ebay.com/itm/ROCKY-CORE-WTRPF-1000G-INSULATED-NEOPRENE-OUTDOOR-BOOTS-RKYS053-ALL-SIZES-SALE/192343645643?hash=item2cc8931dcb:m:maKVOCFqm8hqv4v5tuHBNZg
