High = more than 2/3 of applicants receive a DMP. Medium = between 1/3 & 2/3 receive a DMP. Low = less than 1/3 of applicants will receive a DMP. PP Req = only applicants with preference points have a chance of receiving a DMP. May require 1, 2, or 3 preference points to be selected. LO/DV = only qualifying landowners (greater than 50 acres) and veterans with disabilities will receive a DMP. None = No DMPs are available. NA = DEC is not authorized to issue DMPs in these units. Notes: WMU 1C is bowhunting-only from October - December. A special permit is Required during the January Firearms Season. WMUs 3S, 4J, and 8C are bowhunting-only during all deer seasons. Antlerless-only Bonus DMPs are available in WMUs 1C, 3S, 4J, and 8C for hunters who fill a DMP in these units. Preference points increase the chances of selection but do not guarantee issuance. Preference points are won and lost on the 1st DMP selection. If preference points are required on the 2nd permit, only applicants who were denied a 1st permit are eligible. Qualifying landowners and veterans with disabilities will receive their 1st choice DMP in all open WMUs. To learn how DMP quotas and probabilities are determined, see Understanding DMPs: Quota Setting and Permit Selection.

Hunting Licenses are now available for the 2017-18 seasons. Licenses and permits can be purchased at any one of DEC's license-issuing agents, by telephone (866-933-2257) or online. Hunting and trapping licenses are valid for one year beginning September 1, 2017. New this year, we are requesting that hunters provide an email address when purchasing their licenses, so that we will have an efficient means to notify hunters of additional hunting or trapping opportunities, impending legislation or regulation changes, and license renewal reminders. We also hope to use email addresses to request feedback and conduct surveys of hunters and trappers about wildlife management programs. All customer information is privacy protected and emails will only be used by DEC for program-related information.

When I used to fly down to Florida to drive my in-laws car back , I would either stop at the Bass Pro Store in Orlando ar Concord Mills in North Carolina . It depended on what time I left Florida . I have never been to thr BP in Waterloo , NY .

I most often do all day sits . If I am driving 50 miles to a hunting spot I rarely spend a half day . I usually change which stand I use depending on the wind direction , sun , etc ..

Attended a wedding at Woodlawn Beach yesterday in Blasdell , NY . Then a reception at the The Columns Banquet House in Elma then stayed at the Hampton Inn in West Seneca . After breakfast , we said our good byes and went to Cabelas . It's a huge store but I wasn't impressed . I checked out ammo , reloading supplies , boots , etc and we walked out without making a purchase . I like the Field and Stream store better . Can't wait for the Bass Pro in Victor !

Friends of mine that live in Williamson have a woodchuck problem . They don't let anyone hunt their orchards but they are still friends of mine . I set up a trail cam July 22 . Between then and July 26 the chuck showed up twice in the same day (morning & afternoon) . Gotta turn the camera a bit next time I go over there .My friend told me several years ago that I could set up cameras in the orchard to get deer pics and I turned him down saying "why in hell take pics of something I can't shoot" . I told hid wife that I hoped the deer would eat her whole garden .

The 11 stands on my SIL's property mostly get used by me . Depends on the wind direction as to which one I use . Sometimes one or two of my sons hunt with me so we can cover different areas . There is a location where I wanted to put up a tri-pod stand but it is in a wet area and not sure how stable I could make it even using 2X8's under the legs . Plus it's so wet now that it is close to impossible to get the parts into that area .

Those weren't pop crates that were tossed . They were beer crates . One is a Yuengling & Son crate . The other is a National Brewery crate . I saw similar crates on EBAY with a price of $250 . Hmmmmm
