  1. Hes a cutie, congrats!!!!
  2. I build cages around each tree 4-5 feet high, held in place with stakes and zip ties.
  3. NYBowhunter

    Why a bow?

More time in the woods, deer not in hide mode, change of seasons (love the fall), more challenging. See a much more natural deer behavior.
  4. Rip the treestand down and keep the cam, three months is way too long. I would have given 3 days. With people that BS and are known tresspassers it does not pay to be nice. Too many scumbags out there, its your land and you gave ample notice, its that simple. Too nice and those type of locals will walk all over you and your land.
  5. Maybe next trip, our last night is tomorrow and were heading to El Gaucho.
  6. Azzuro in Aruba, overlooking the Carribean..Vitello Gianni and Risotto with mixed seafood.
  7. Had a Balashi last night in Aruba, a locally made brew. Really good.
  8. At Smokey Joes in Aruba enjoying a nice local brew.
  9. Butter steaks on the BBQ, smoked with charcoal and applewood.
  10. Congrats to you and the family, shes a cutie!!!!
  11. Happy birthday to you and your boy, enjoy Hershey!!!!
  12. Congrats, 2 cuties. Enjoy every second.
  13. Happy Fathers Day all!!!! Got some great homemade cards from the kiddos, nice clothes , sneakers, and an awesome breakfast. Enjoy the day!!!!
  14. OMG and my father thought i was crazy for having 8 stands...im going to show him this post to prove that im the sane one and your the nutjob....lol....hey if it works why not....thats insane.
  15. Dont feel bad Grizz, i travel 3.5hrs. one way, however when i do go to camp its usually for 3 days so the drive isnt all that bad.
  16. As stated above with smaller parcels after a few years you get a general idea of deer movement thru your property. In addition, that coupled with strategically placed food plots, sanctuaries and staging areas rarely do i need to move stand locations (it helps to have 8 stands on 41 acres). I set out a cam this past weekend over one of my white ladino clover plots that i planted last year to get a consensus of its use. I also spent this past weekend mowing all my food plots , trimming and cutting trees and cleaning up paths..
  17. Like you stated all these big box retailers want to corner the market therefore the collapse of competion from a brick and mortar perspective. Thats why most my shopping for anything not just hunting is done online. Much more price options online and almost all have free shipping at some price point. If im in a pinch and really need something is when i venture into a retail store.
  18. I never spray my plots as i dont want pesticides on my land (thats just me). I mow my plots once they exceed 6 inches or more which helps the white clover compete with native grasses. Thats just my natural approach that works for me. However to be successful and as stated by others it helps to test your soil and add the recommended lime/fertilizer based upon the test results and type of plantings.
  19. That's awesome grampy, I'm sure he will have a blast!!!! My 2 boys will be playing there in July.
