  1. I'll be out there scouting this week. There is a long time before the rut kicks in.
  2. First pic is from 10 yards, second is from 21 yards.
  3. Decisions, decisions!!! Which one first?????
  4. Trying out some for the first time this year!!!! Bought them at the sportsman's show in Hamburg this past March. Just ordered those silent non-slip strips for the bottom section. Will report back on them later.
  5. Being retired, I guess I am lucky to be able to put in some quality time now for a dandy!!! Years before, the 13th on is a good bet for some true rut action.
  6. Holy smokes!!! I never seen so many wall hangers together at one time. Is that a game farm?
  7. That's my team!!! Just wait till Brady comes back!!

    Big 6 pt's

That has to be 20"+ just on the inside spread alone!!!
  12. All depends what kind of hunting I am doing for that particular day. If I am going to still hunting during rifle season, a fanny pack works awesome. If I intend to be in a stand most of the day, a back pack fills the bill.
  13. Can't beat either wool or fleece. I would highly suggest having Thinsulate insulation along with Gore-Tex material for water proofing and wind protection. I would also be sure it comes with a hood!!!
  14. I switch between a climber and hang on stands, and I try to have the stands set up way ahead of time and then stalk to my stand and climb up. With mainly my climber, I try to walk in with it early afternoon and hunt the rest of the day. Leave it at the base of the tree, spray it down with cover scent and be back first thing in the morning. Depending on activity, will decide to make a move or stay put another day or so. I agree, carrying a climber and your back pak strapped to it weighs a lot more than just the stand itself.
  15. With the opening day of archery season fast approaching, I was wondering what time frame you guys prefer to hunt, since it still stays light out well into the evening. Are you a morning person, or a evening person. For me, at this time of the year, evenings seem to get the nod with the deer still on a crop feeding pattern. Mornings are tuff due to the deer still being out feeding, and bumping them is always a possible situation. But I can see if your working afternoons, etc. mornings, would work better. When it gets closer towards Halloween, I tend to split it up more. Then it comes to all day hunts when November hits, especially the 7th through the 14th. Thoughts?
  16. Out of any treestand I have used , I prefer to shoot standing. My reasons being: much more shot angles, directions, less obstructions in the way, stand/rail/tree. If your afraid of heights, sitting is more calming on your nerves. My cousin would only hunt out of ladder stands, and would only shoot while he was sitting due to his fear of heights?
  17. Ditto what Elmo said..................
  18. I have family that live in Vermont. VERY expensive housing!!!! If I could pick up my house and drop it in Vermont, I'd get another $200,000.00 for it!!! I don't know how people can afford to live there????
  19. We went there 2 years ago, nice hike in.
  20. Got out the bow since the weather has been more pleasant to conduct some shooting lately. After a few ends, took this group at 21+ yards. Think the rust is out.....LOL
