Congrats on a real dandy!!!

I never tried shooting one myself as yet. Very content with my compound bow I presently own. From the rumors I have heard, the strings on crossbows last for a little over 100 shots!!! Before the bow season strolls around, I may take anywhere from 20-40 shots per day practicing. Your going to tell me I would need a new string before the season even starts???? Think I will pass, as well as with a stick bow. Found my nitch with the compound.

Went to that last year or the year before, was suppose to be 20+ balloons going up but, they didn't due to a thunderstorm in the distant. We were disappointed, long drive to get there!!! Then we went about a month later to Niagara University, they were celebrating their 50 year anniversary with 50 Hot air balloons to go up. Wind speed was a little to high so they didn't go up. That was two attempts at trying to see that, never again. Conditions have to be just right before they will even lift off. Very disappointed to say the least.

My trap is gone!!! Who ever snapped it, took it with them? Just checked and it's nowhere to be found? Checked under the bushes, etc.!!! That was my favorite trap too!!! Little rascals

Well tried Holley bushes, planted 27 of them along the sides and back of my yard years ago. Problem was, the Rabbits love them!!! Ate them all down to about an inch off the ground!!! At $18.00 apiece, you do the math......vendetta on rabbits right now. hence the pellet gun!!!! Ended up going to a wood fence....instant privacy!!!

I agree, but I haven't seen a gobbler yet!!! I heard two sound off last week, but after that single gobble, nothing!! Strange season to say the least!!!

Been working on a raised bed next to my shed for a tomato garden. Just finished the frame yesterday, and dug out the sod and put down 20 bags of top soil. Think it will need more after it settles.

I will put out an honest effort again come Monday and Tuesday mornings. After that the fat lady can sing her ass off!!!

I thought this morning would of rocked the woods with gobbles!! NADA.....ZIP.....Nothing??????

Well, another very quiet morning to say the least!!! Was in the woods at 5:15am, stayed right till 10:45....ZIP!!! I waited till 6:15am and didn't hear a single gobble, then proceeded to set up and cold call. After picking out a tree and got the blind set up, I walked out to stake the deeks. Guess what was right on the ground, a wing feather. This woods was my honey hole, and could depend on this spot to produce all the time, but nothing but a lone gobble last week, then complete silence!!! The only thing that showed up this morning was a young buck. I tried to get a pic because he was starting to wind me.

Heading back out in the morning Danno!! With the temps in the 70's this week, that might be the ticket!!!
