Do you pull bird out of strut to tip him over?
maytom replied to turkeyfeathers's topic in Turkey Hunting
Years ago, I was faced with this very situation. The gobbler was following a hen right towards me. Never came out of strut even with me calling. Took the shot at his head area only to find out afterwards that because of his head tucked down low into his body, I shot the dang beard clean off!!! Lesson learned the hard way for me, never again will I try that shot. -
Do you Disc Your Plots Early?
maytom replied to LetEmGrow's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
If anyone is looking for a ATV pull behind commercial spreader give me a jingle. We sold our cottage and had 3 food plots, selling my Hunter Specialties Spreader that I bought from Cabela's. -
Check out the TIKKA line of rifles. Got a blued composite stocked .308 that is a real tack driver.

He keeps eating that "herbal supplement", and I agree, or steer a boat?

Almost like you Larry, 2 bows in 20 years. Still on that second one now......

Best of luck on your trip. Waiting for a full report and pictures when you get back!!

Danno, haven't heard from him in quite a while now myself. That picture was from the past. Lot's of folks stopped visiting that old forum over the years. I wonder how he is doing as well?

I made the switch to the New Winchester Longbeards myself over the Nitro company stuff. Their price and the crimps left me cold. The buffer would always leak out in my vest pockets!!!! For the money Nitro company charged for their shells, $100.00 for a box of 25, their crimping and sealing methods sure were lacking quality control!!!

Finally pulled the trigger on a "pocket" gun
maytom replied to ApexerER's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Years ago, I had a S&W .22 revolver, model 17? Anyways, the timing was off and the hammer was hitting in between the chambers against the metal cylinder. First the hammer broke off, then the internals fell apart. Took it in to get fixed and promptly sold it off!! Never again would I ever go with a S&W gun. If that happens to their .22's, what would happen to a .38. .357, or a .44 mag? Ruger is hell bent for strong and takes a licking and keeps ticking. Sticking with what works for me. -
Great site to see!!! Thanks for sharing the pic's!!!

Yes, I usually cut mine off right where it attaches to the breast. Some grab a hold of it and yank it off. I get nervous by that method.

A friend of mine sent me a pic of his beard collection. Goes by the name "Preacher" on the forums. He and his wife both enjoy chasing those spring gobblers!!!

Been seriously thinking of this exact gun or the Ruger LCR in .357 -
Great looking mount for sure!!! Can't figured how he got that tree into the carton?

If I got another one, it would be a Can-am as well. Use to have a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO camo edition, which was a nice machine. Loved the ride compared to my brother's Yamaha Grizzly or my cousins Honda Forman. Polaris really had the suspension down!!!

As you can tell, I use most types of pot calls. The one of choice is a good glass call. I can get those to really bark out the sounds nicely.

K....that guy was an older guy back then, probably dead now. I do remember the art work though.
