  1. I will say I don't like to hunt the full moon, but I still do. I noticed that a majority of my trail cam pics from the last week were between 11 pm and 3 am. That includes does and fawns too. Everything seemed to be moving in the middle of the night.
  2. Awesome buck, congrats!
  3. They don't necessarily lick the branch. They are rubbing their preorbital, nasal, and forehead glands on the branch to leave as much scent on it as possible. During this process there mouth is often open and saliva will get on the branch as well.
  4. Awful big body to only have a spike. Maybe it's a doe??
  5. Where are you located? It rained here all morning and is now sunny and beautiful! Please tell me you are going out hunting tonight.
  6. We didn't have a very hot summer, so the corn itself didn't grow very well.
  7. We just got the soybeans off on Monday. Corn prob won't be for another week or 2.
  8. I have a few mounts from Bucko's Taxidermy in Parish.
  9. It means you should be hunting in the am and pm for him, especially if you are a bow hunter!
  10. Take it off baby! I always take it off when in stand...my quiver too.
  11. If you have a good bow string on your bow, you shouldn't see any peep twist. I have put 60x strings on my bow and only started to notice peep turn after about 5000 shots. The tube peeps are great for beginners who don't have the knowledge to fix the problem themselves or have the time to take it to a pro shop.
  12. They look nice, have good reviews, are competitively priced. Go shoot one and take the guess work out.
  13. Nice pics. Buck #2 has some pretty sweet brow tines.
  14. Great looking gun! Now for a nice 3-9 to top her off.
  15. He'd taste good mixed with some pork...what a slob!
  16. Superstitious stand-9 bucks hanging on the wall from the same stand location. It's one of those spots where you'll sit days in a row and not see a deer. Then out of no where a deer shows and it's usually a stud.
  17. Great buck no matter what the score. I'd say 118-123...GROSS
  18. I hadn't seen this buck since the end of August. Saturday morning I had the right wind so I sat in my favorite stand. Well at that time of morning before the sun rises when you can see outlines moving in the woods this guy showed up. I could barely make out the rack through the binocs but could see that it was pretty wide and the body was huge. He stood there 40 yards from me for what seemed like a few minutes and then headed up the hill into the thick stuff. It was great to see him since I had no signs of him since August. My archery buck tag is filled, so I am hoping to catch up with him during gun season. I grabbed my cam and moved it here. So I checked the cam today and was surprised to see him on video. Now that I know he's here I probably won't hunt that stand until then. This is the mouth of my entrance trail to my stand (that he walked up on Saturday about 1.5 hrs after I did) that faces my newly planted winter wheat field. I also have a stand on the field edge about 50 yards north of the trail for different wind. Something to look forward to for gun season!
