  1. Let's keep our finger crossed that they hold out and continue for....let's say...2 months..lol
  2. The stream could be State or Federal Wetlands. Might ne neither. But you sure do not want to get caught having already built something. The days of "it's easier to get forgiveness or permission" are over. The restoration costs and fines can be significant. It is especially touchy if downstream is classified as trout waters. I would start with the DEC
  3. Four Seasons. With all the guys that you know that don't report. How many of these guys have you turned in?
  4. Robinson. It is perfectly legal to pay for the guys gas to bring them to you though...lol I also didn't see in his post where he said the 15 tags were all doe tags. Heck I had 7 tags myself this year. I could have taken 9 deer had I gone up north on last years archery tags.
  5. About a half turn worth but just enough that I had to chase the threads on the screw and the reciever.
  6. WNY. just a word of caution if you are planning to drop the trigger assembly out of it to clean it. The cross reciever screw can be a bear to line up and it it VERY soft Stainless. Watch the cross threading.
  7. Boy if you have any way of getting him out to run with a proven hunter it could make the whole thing go ALOT smoother and faster. We used to have great luck breaking in a new hound with a proven one.
  8. "In regard to hunting, under our ownership, we’re not going to allow hunting for the time being. But when the state acquires it, it will most likely become a state wildlife management area, with all the same rules and regulations of other state wildlife management areas. Most likely, hunting will ultimately be allowed" Well this sucks. Very good duck hunting area. Really going to piss me off if any of our tax money is involed in this.
  9. I think the classification of cutlet is more about thickness than size
  10. I've never had the spell check working on this site. I dind't know we had it...lol
  11. I guess he could do most of it. Roasts could easily be and I don't do chops anymore because I like the backstraps whole and I don't like cutting bone through meat. But the Backstraps could be too. At some point though you would end up with very small pieces of cutlets as you reached the end of a cut. and the meat below the knees are not much good for other than grinding or canning. He has to do some in another fashion.
  12. I am a big Law and Order fan. Love the show....the original. At the end of an episode last night the closing line just hit me as the all time perfect line when taking politics. "Democracy is the worst governemt of all, except for all the rest" Government by nature is oppresive. No one will ever convince me that the system designed by the ForeFathers isn't the best concieved to date. That said they also knew that any form of government can be corrupted and how can we say that both parties are not guilty of just that. I wish I could point to a politician and be able to say that they have the people best interest at heart in all their decissions. No one of that description exists. If they did I would vote for them no matter what ticket they were from. So I agree the forefathers were guarding against future oppressors especially those from within.
  13. Allot is a verb that means to distribute, to assign a portion, or to divide. Example: The instructor allotted me 20 minutes to take the test. Example: They allotted six square feet per family. Alot means nothing because it is not a word in the English language and therefore should not to be used. A lot (two words) is an informal phrase meaning a large portion or large quantity of something. According to what I read it is proper to use “a lot” when describing non-countable quantities such as water, sand, ice, or time. The word “many” should be used when describing countable items such as hours, people, or books. I doubt I will be able to change my usage, “He has many books” does not carry the same meaning to me as “He has a lot of books”. Example: A lot of water has passed under the bridge. Example: I don’t have a lot of time to make amends. I remember having an English teacher that had this pet peeve. Her other one was the use of may and can. I found the above on the weband actually ALOT does have a meaning. It is a town in India. So if you said "I like hunting Alot" it could actually be correct...lol
  14. Ours is a mile back in the woods so it doesn' t get much local traffic. I hate to even reply to this for fear of jinxing myself. We go have a gate but it is aways up even when we are there and the ROW enters through a guys lawn at the road. Best advice is what G-man said. get to know the neighbors. We also took the possibility of break in during construction. Nothing is 100% secure but we used small windows you can't crawl through and the camp is up on foundations so the wndows aren't easy to look in through. We have metal doors and metal door frames with heavy C-channel security bars. A torch would be required to get through it. The roof and siding is all metal. never leave anything visible of value inside the camp.
  15. I have never heard of this. Did the butcher also offer to dispose of the bear meat for the guy...lol?
  16. On the actual topic. I have no question what my action would be. There is NO WAY I could successfully shoot a 200+ inch buck. I would fall to peices. So if he walked by me he would be safe.
  17. Those are the ones I save my "stupid deer" tags for. the ones that are tougher to take get the regular tags...lol. I could have used a few stupid ones in my grinder this year
  18. That must have seemed like and eternity to her. Must be a fairly remote area of OK
  19. You have a right to use other than deadly force to detain them though. but at that point I write the TV off as a loss.
  20. Read Breast. almost as good as Middleton's and a 1/3 of the price
  21. http://www.bfro.net/ They are jus all over the place. there is either a ton of these furry creatures running around or they have great travel agents. I love watching that show. It blows my mind how serious they look about it.
  22. Hey Doc, My Gradnfather use to make his own Horseradish and I remember turning the old meat hand grinder for him...eyes watering and nose buring the whole way. He ground it then finished it to the desired consistency in the blender.
  23. But it isn't illegal to own...just possess in NYC --Right?. What if it is at a relatives upstate home or at a camp upstate? or even in another state. How could they possibly know?
  24. And slavery and womens rights were addressed in other ammendments. not the back room deal route of today's politics. if they want to change the text of the 2nd Ammendment then there is an avenue the do that. You know why they won't. Because they will never get the required support to pull it off.
  25. Ther you go leaning on that old worn out document...lol. Seems the ones that are against it being use to protect gun ownership are sure fond of it to defend their positions when they need to. It is outdated only when convenient.
