  1. With only about 5% of the population hunting and about 5% rabid anti-hunting, there is a huge population that is on the fence. When polled the vast majority are tolerable with hunting for food and population control. When polled about "trophy" hunting their support free falls. That is part of my issue with AR's and how they are presented for "bigger racks". It also bothers me about the ML in early archery debate. I LOVE to bow hunt but if they tossed a ML season in bow in the high population area I live and hunt in, I would understand it. I'd likely take part in it too. When over I'd pick that bow back up. It is unnerving when hunters get so polarized on the issues though. I have been involved in some heated debates of topics. That isn't bad but we should be framing all of it under the umbrella of conservation. What is the best for the resource.
  2. Go down to the bottom of the sub forum lists. There is a full detail post under our 7th annual banquet post
  3. That was a general statement Storm. NOT directed to you or your actions. Was merely having a conversation on what I see. I will say though that you assuming I was directing it to you and making this about you personally may be what some are turned off by in your responses. Take a deep breath. contribute and converse. Bust some chops and don't poke the bear.
  4. In all honesty Storm, I don't see a hierarchy. I do see that there are members that have been around for quite a while. Based on their knowledge, contribution and willingness to provide useful and accurate help, I have a huge amount of respect for them. To me and IMO respect is earned and not just given. Civility should be a baseline we all give and received to start. A variance from that is also earned in my book. For what it is worth. I am only on my first cup of coffee.
  5. No. Sit down and raise your hand to be called on....lol
  6. I agree with this, but most of the ones that I have seen go sideways is when a post is made and then the OP cant take suggestions well or acts like they know all the answers. It's kind of like....why the hell did you post if you know it all...lol.
  7. We were in Henrietta last year too. it is really tough to find a venue that will hold over 200 people with the footprint for all the games and prizes.
  8. You may have had a shot this year if I had gotten a yote the other night...now....Forget it..lol
  9. Be careful becasue he travels across the sky. He comes up int he east laying down and when upright he is south, he then lays back down in the west. Best specific "south" is when he is upright and it's right under his knife.
  10. I have heard very very good things about this group https://www.longguntraining.com/?fbclid=IwAR1K-Dz9LBAmy3FWEvfTZtVNZPbzfWvaI9mhfMHLmkcAm8Nx-ZpavziZS5s
  11. My cousin has one and it is great to fish from. Two things are a must. a trolling motor with PLENTY of power and a drift sock. They do catch the wind pretty well and if you do any drift fishing the sock is a must for slowing you down. They are a sail.
  12. This banquet is the only fundraiser we do to put on programs like the Field To Fork and the contributions to the Venison Donation Coalition that I posted all about on here. Each entry ticket gets you the meal, a one year membership to QDMA and access to all the games. We have a very special game that I am finalizing the details on. It will be a dice roll and if you are lucky enough to roll the required combination, you win the GRAND PRIZE, your choice of a $10,000 4 wheeler or $10,000 in cash. There will be other combination prizes as well as a prize that everyone that rolls will receive a ticket for. If the lower tier prizes are not won during the rolling, they will be awarded during the ticket drawings as well. We are only 10 days away form the Early Bird Deadline. There are some really great prizes this year and if you have never gone to one of our banquets, it would be a great year to try it. Don't miss out on the 2 for 1 General Raffle ticket packages. The $250 package is the only way to get a ticket in the gun of the year drawing, a Bergara B-14 in 6.5 Creedmoor. This IS the best odds on a gun in the room next to the Henry Golden Boy that will go to one person that purchased a Captain's Table March 23rd Banquet https://www.qdma.com/event/greater-rochester-s-tier-7th-annual-banquet-ny/?instance_id=904
  13. Or the loss to organizations. Couple this with the no firearms in games of chance and it sure would be a death blow.
  14. You think you would get dollar for dollar value of that standing timber in an offer? I think if he had a bid on the timber he wouldn't get dollar for dollar. IMO. Personally I'd take the money and run. I'd ask a professional but I'd probably still do it. Kind of a "bird in the hand is worth two in the back seat of a Buick"....or something like that.
  15. I lived that. Then one day my mother hit me with her favorite hair brush. It broke and she hit me with her hand and really hurt her hand. That ended that. She moved on to grounding and there were complete summers I never left the yard except for a family function or activity. She NEVER released a punishment early. And I know you folks here won't believe this but I tend to run my mouth. Well she didn't care for that and if I got grounded for a week and continued to argue she would just start counting. Each number was a week grounding and she would count as long as I wanted to run my mouth. I was NOT a quick learner...lol
  16. I am with Virgil on this, i'd ask your agent. But will add one thing. In my mind there is only one way you know you are gettign 100% consideration on the timber and that is to have the timber money in hand.
  17. It's only in committee. But it is the time to be vocal about it. If it gets on Andy's desk it will be too late. I've seen handguns used in games of chance. just have to have a valid permit and jump through the other hoops to take possession. I know one guy that won and he didn't have a permit. He had the FFL hold it until his permit was approved.
  18. Wooly, Is there a special chain you use for this? One you like better than another?
  19. I sure do wish there was a "holy SH!T" button rather than just a "like". Awesome as usual.
  20. I was explaining an option so folks do t get raped by the factory external tank prices. If you have any elementary DIY skills it’s an easy mod. That was all
  21. The cap on off is just a air release so the tank doesn't get air locked. The nice think is that Generator and tank does draw suction. There are easy mods to that cap and you can attach a 6 gallon Marine outboard tank to it. Mine runs our camp on Eco for 14 hours on the .95 gallon tank. With a 6.95 capacity it will run for over 4 days / 24 hours a day. If turning it on and off as needed it can easily get us a week.
  22. Did the American flag look old? I know some of the blues used on the flags were pretty crappy and could fade to a grey. Other than that I have never seen one with a grey background.
