  1. I actually have one of the very first Elf on the shelf! The creator came to Money Magazine and was explaining the concept to one of our editors for an upcoming issue for seasonal gifts. After she left the Editor gave it to me because she knew I had some little ones at home. This was a year or two before the creators became Zillionaires! So I really don't know what its worth but....I have the book and the elf!
  2. Marino is part owner of Anthony's coal fire pizza. Just happened to be at the restaurant on my 50th. Introduced myself and he came over and hung with us for a while, super nice guy!
  3. BTW he came to my 50th birthday party!!
  4. That's a shame. I hope it was truly an accident. Couple of the guys who come to my camp are troopers and county cops. One of them provides an emergency backpack that has all kids of stuff in it for gun wounds. He leaves it in a central deer blind. Its nice knowing it is there.
  5. I tell ya here in Steuben county its like picken rocks. They keep on growing back. Fella down the road is concerned we take too many bucks. Last year 8 8 pts now this year 9 7 pts. It seems every year they come back for more. LOL
  6. We have bear on the property. Some years more than I care for. The years when corn and berries are plentiful they are around. As for making a den I have not seen one in our area but we have some spots that have so many blowdowns that I hear they will den up in these areas. I might try doing a big pile of blowdowns and see if it works. If it doesn't I'll use it as a deer blind!
  7. I have about 7 on mine. One of these days for sure.
  8. I would like to go back to the good old days where there were no sensors.
  9. I would imagine there is an equation that is out together. Deer kill reports, road kills, ag areas vs dense forest and so on. I can sit in a stand at early bow and see a few deer. At late muzzleloader I can be in the same stand and see 20-30 deer.
  10. You drinking enough water? My wife had that happen to her but she passed out. In the ER one doctor told her she needed a pace maker! what a jerk. She was fine after a lot of tests. Even a heart monitor for a month. Hopefully just one episode.
  11. Thanks, just entered my niece on her first buck kill this year!
  12. Dogs eat it raw when I'm making it for myself. No issues they just love it!
  13. So leaving South Carolina Google maps gave us the option of driving through these mountains. It was a wonderful ride and so beautiful! I want to go back and visit some of the areas along the way.
  14. Reflection from the sun could ruin your hunt. I could of used this opening day. Snow was so deep you didn't hear them. Had deer right behind me and I didn't know it until I turned around.
  15. This buck was in full rut mode today and went down. This was shot by my neighbor. He said he never heard a buck grunting so loud and so many times. This happens to be the 9th 7 point taken on our hill!
  16. This buck was in full rut mode today and went down. This was shot by my neighbor. He said he never heard a buck grunting so load and so many times. This happens to be the 9th 7 point taken on our hill!
  17. Just got back. They were 1-1 and 3rd game cancelled. It was a good trip and on the way home we drove through Virginia"s Blue Ridge Mountains it was beautiful! I want to go back! Then I got a blow out at 70 mph but managed to get the car off the road. Limped to Pep Boys and was fixed up with new tire in a half hour!
  18. Not to hunt, lol, but to watch my daughter play in the Greer U14 soccer showcase. We are playing teams from Colorado, SC and Alabama. Rain all weekend.....brining the Frogs! Good luck hunting, my brother will be at camp for a quick hunt.
