Happy Birthday dude!

Could be monthly for me. Being I don't live at the cabin its when I get up there. I was last there August 1st. My brother is going up this weekend, he will check them. As for busting deer and leaving scent, 1 cam is off a major trail I mow and ride quads on. The deer get used to it. My other cam is down in the honey hole that doesn't have many visitors, both pick up nice deer.

I'll take a cool looking rack over an older deer. I don't see why not, YOU still can decide what to shoot or what not to shoot this year. I'll take this guy in a heart beat over an older deer with a bigger rack.

So my new job has me in a truck that is pretty old and loaded with product. I give the old girl some time to get up to 40 mph. I'm on the road early and there are so many people that get pissed that I drive…….the speed limit! Screw them, I want to have a sticker put on the back of the truck that reads, I drive the speed limit you should of gotten up a bit earlier. That is some scary stuff you described.

Funny how the DEC will turn a blind eye to stuff like this when they want deer taken in a bad way. Happens on L.I. all the time. Really no enforcement. Go ahead and buy all you want seeing the way things are going…lol

We have a lot of them on Long Island. The counties put up poles that make great nesting areas. This time of year you can watch the parents bringing in food for the young ones. It is really cool. Wooly it's time to cut off all the branches of a giant pine and put a platform up top for a nesting area. Rig up a 24 hr cam and stream it right here!

Well the joke is on me, My niece from the 100% Italian side of the family used the cabin last and left these laying around as a joke. lol Who would of thought……I thought owl poop?

Found it in the cabin last weekend….very hard and has seeds in it????

Saw my gun hunter on ly friend last night. Told him about the new regs. His comment, "good more bucks for me to shoot" he said it with a smile and we both agreed the rule will have little impact on deer numbers.

1st two weeks doe only will throw it all into a tail wind. Bucks will breed only at night and sit tight during the day. They will know something is up when their lady friends are being targeted for abuse. They won't come out to defend but just will sit there and watch the slaughter from the thicket. But…….when we are done with our duty as conservationist to cull the herd they will come out…….seeking and searching for the leftovers, even a yearling will do. There won't be much left so bucks might just retire with the old-timers on the porch and talk about how it was back in the day….Happy hunting!

I don't know what the logic is behind this. It is very rare that I get to the cabin in early October to hunt. Of course this does not come into play in 8P. There was a post about why you deer hunt. Just being in the woods is great, so much for killing a buck until the two weeks are over for some of you guys. There is no logic here in the decision and I would just move on until you are really poked in the eye! lol
