  1. I loved this show in the 70's. Looked forward to it every week! http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/15/entertainment/dan-haggerty-grizzly-adams-dead-feat/index.html
  2. Makers Mark Manhattan is my choice at 52 years young!
  3. I get 20 bucks an acre. I'm in Steuben county and some say I could get more but the farmer is a great guy. He will do favors if asked and puts back into the soil what he takes out so my land isn't getting raped. Remember the best part about doing this is your property will go into Ag status on your tax bill. This will eliminate a decent amount of taxes on the property.
  4. My cabin is right between 5 and 6!!! http://www.roadsnacks.net/these-are-the-10-most-redneck-cities-in-new-york/
  5. Yesterday I had a long conversation with a Police Officer who was at the scene. It was hit by a car.
  6. That is a whole lot of money. I couldn't even answer that question.
  7. I know they ship to the Ag dept in Bath. I don't see any apple trees on the Saratoga list.
  8. Yeah I thought it should of been higher but I saw some other pictures of this deer and the rack doesn't look as big in the two pictures I posted. If you ask me he looks 155-165……Heard an old lady was feeding this buck. She watched him run off her property and get hit by the car.
  9. Found out he scored high 140's and was 200 lbs. Just today two other bucks in the same area were seen by my friend. Almost or just as big as the road kill buck.
  10. Those of you at a a distance can have them shipped to your house. Take the seedlings and plant them in cheap window boxes that depot sells. Use a good soil mixture. I did this once and let them grow all summer and planted in the fall. Worked great.
  11. When I bought my land back in 2007 I ordered 300 white pine from the nursery. We planted them in April of that year. They were pencil size trees that are now almost 6-8 feet tall. I would say a good 250 made it. Well worth the 50 or so bucks I paid for them. Also had my kids help plant them and we call each area they planted their forest. Buy them now before they get sold out of some species. On a side note for some reason the bucks don't like to rub white pine, why I don't know but none were ever torn up??
  12. Brother and his friend hunted all day and saw nothing. No deer were brought into the chaco station. He also didn't see much sign. Maybe the sharpshooters got them all….lol
  13. Number of deer were checked in yesterday. 1 small 8 and a bunch of doe. My brother is going out tomorrow with his friend. Good luck to them and espessoBuzzzzz!!!! Dress warm!!
  14. My neighbors Granddaughter uses a 223 and My niece. Both have taken deer with these guns. The smaller caliber is what these girls were after. Gun did its job for sure.
  15. If thats the Island I would say older maybe 3.5 or 4.5.
  16. I wouldn't bother. My advice would be to walk into the wind. Last time I hunted public land out there I walked probably 7-10 miles in the day and kicked up a ton of deer. GL
  17. It seems that does come into cycle from early Oct all the way through late December. So yes a late doe could be making the youngster chase her.
  18. My neighbor is walking our properties Wednesday with a Forestry manager. I'll report back on his findings.
  19. I primarily use a Remington 1187 12 gauge, rifled barrel with a scope. Use light field slugs. Gun is dead on at 100 yards. Gun is 30 years old and very reliable. Site the gun in but I would get the rifled barrel first. Good luck!
