  1. That is one sweet deer. Congrats to him!!
  2. Sorry about the break in Zem. I just don't get it. Do what Fletch said and catch the guys! Good luck
  3. One other thing to keep in mind while tracking is where is the deer going and what is it doing? I hit one low last year in the brisket area. He bolted then settled down and sort of was on a regular routine walk. Visited a scrape went up and down a hill. All times leaving enough blood to track. It finally stopped when he reached the bedding area. Never found him but never gave up until blood ran out.
  4. Get the book out!!! Great idea on the other thread Treeguy.
  5. Had tenderloin that was 1 day old this year, it was the best!
  6. I've been saying to myself lately that some of the new stuff is just too much like Pop and Rap music. Hats off to the old timers!
  7. That is a lot of meat on those blades. Possibly hit some bone got stuck in there and just tore up the muscle and fat when she moved. That is some story. Good luck the next time she crosses your path!
  8. Thinking about opening morning, in your favorite spot, where that big boy may be walking and you pull off a great shot and drop a monster! 1 more week of this insanity!!!!!!!
  9. Top and bottom bow kills. Top one is a PY buck.
  10. My neighbor has a trailer and 10 acres. It is bordered (0n 3 sides) by my property and two other big parcels. He shoots a deer every year. It is just the right fit and is a major travel area for the deer. He only gun hunts, 2 people at a time.
  11. I think they know something that you don't know........
  12. I never get bored in the stand. I wish I could spend more time out there. I got a glimpse of a real nice deer last weekend for only a second or two. Would of missed him doing something else. Just love being on stand and "reading the woods"!
  13. DEC on Long Island checks every deer coming in. Mostly for age but will weigh it if you want.
  14. Same here I'm in 8P and the yotes are out of control.
  15. I would love to try this one day. Seems like a real art. Maybe when I'm up at camp and call it my home i'll try it out. For now I'll watch and learn. Thanks
  16. Years ago they would have a deer check at the bridges and on Rt 17. Haven't seen any of this in years. I had a deer hanging at camp on state land and a dec officer came in and checked. He was straight and to the point. I had something missing on the tag, he told me it should be filled in which I did and he was on his way. The last time I transported deer home to long island was back in 2008, that is what we looked like. Pulled into a gas station at Windsor and had two troopers pull in right next to us. They didn't even look at the deer or tags.
  17. This thread needs a Swhacker through it!!
  18. Golden estrous seems to work for me.
  19. That last full moon hunters moon, I was in all day and saw no mid day action. Earliest was 3 pm.
  20. I'm in all day especially if its calm and cold out. Bring a thermo of coffee and some grub and I'm good to go. I did 2 all day sits in the bow stand this year and will do all day sits on the first two days of gun. My body feels all contorted after an all day sit but its worth it.
