Do twins or trips occurr in deer similar to humans whereby a fertilized egg then splits? or do they produce and release more than one egg that where each gets fertilized by the same or even several bucks?

Whats this weekend's rut activity / outlook look like?
mac replied to burmjohn's topic in Bow Hunting
looks like some crap weather Friday, then clearing up for awhile so may as well hit it early and often ! -
I know the dozen or so deer that are in this specific property tract. The bucks are easy to identify and this particular one has had the same large rounded spiny 6pt headgear for last few years. you can also watch his body grow like clockwork every sept/oct. the few others are all in the 1 1/2 & 2 1/2 yrs old range. (spike, 2 -4 ptrs , and a real odd looking 6pointer rack that could never be mistaken for another buck) and the doe has a very distinct long face. After seeing the same population all year-every year , it is somewhat easy to ID the older mature ones. thats what leads me to believe they have early chemistry and she may be his first to breed.

IS it a little odd to see a mature doe already bedding close by a 3+ yr old buck. I first saw them together last Nov 11. And then last week i started seeing them bedded with 10-20 yrds from each other and occassionally up and eating together. Since they both have a few years on them , you think she may be on an early estrus cycle and he knows the drill by now ? saw them 3 times together over last week.

outstanding! what region ? self guide or who helped out ?
-
deer shouldnt touch them. I have some planted in ground and some smaller ones in containers. birds surprisingly havent bothered them either.

Good point Paula. See what your monthly data usage allowance is and monitor it for few months so you can see if you are running too much stuff.. and lots of apps just suck the juice out of the battery

specific apps for hunting ? or general interest , news, games?

winds should be out by late Friday..starting this Saturday we are in for a nice stretch , sharpen your knives
-
old enough to fit on your wall. good luck

gotcha , even a little quartered to you and contorted a bit as he dropped may give you a neck graze but sounds like a clean miss... he'll still be out there for you!
-
definitely a "real thing". Did he stomp or blow at you first ? was your pin right on the vitals broadside or was he quartering a bit? on high alert, they can be like a compressed spring ready to launch
