  1. Looks like a trophy to me! GREAT STORY... and I agree with 4-Season! God Bless you hb.
  2. Their done! Tractor Supply is reopening though... they're busy stocking shelves and getting ready for 'Black Friday'. I think they're in the same shopping plaza as GM was.
  3. Go get 'em Doc! Their mind is blurred with the big "T" raging... (they can't see squat). Even a one-eyed nimrod would seem to be superior to that. Hopefully you're staying on the ground and not climbing any trees.
  4. Maybe a steeper angle for me Culver (20' high / 15 yard shot). I had about 6" of arrow sticking out of the deer. Regarding dog search. I contacted them and the guy said he would not come (said it was probably a muscle hit). Also because I had 'contaminated' the area by getting blood on the bottom of my boots while looking and trapesing all over the place (thereby confusing the dog). I really am praying you find that deer jg.
  5. HaHaHa... Buckin' does at the No-Tell Motel.
  6. Not to rain on anyone's parade... but that's where I hit the deer I lost last year. Hit him in A.M. and let him lie for 6 hours before starting search. Found lots of blood, then sparce, then none - it was like he disappeared. I so hope you find your buck - best of luck to you jg.
  7. I've had three deer flip over backwards after being shot. One did a little 'tippy-toe' dance before flipping over backwards - weirdest thing I ever saw... she must have gone 30 yards like that.
  8. Way to get it done young man... congratulations! I mounted the rack from my first deer on a plaque (1962) - still hangs on the wall. It's a trophy man... show it off!
  9. Great Video is right... poor little spike can't find any does - they're all dead (hehehehe).
  10. Eddie... I've been hunting for one of 'those cats', but I've never succeeded in bagging one (I understand that there's one behind every tree in Greenland).
  11. Healthy-lookin' specimen! I've only laid my eyes on one of these in the wild.
  12. Atta' girl Grow! Nice deer there - hope you were enjoying those loins tonight!
  13. Wow... what a great quote. ...and THAT's the reason I [we] hunt. Great post Steve!
  14. WOW... we sure have some 'Monday Morning Quarterbacks' on this thread. I don't know of too many archery hunters that would shoot a deer to see how badly they could screw up their hunt. This is a case of a hunter that made a shot and lost a deer... it's a simple as that - been there, done that. It's a shame it happened. I say - "don't should on others... you weren't there".
  15. What a gut-wrenching feeling - to hit a great deer [high] only to not recover it.
  16. Time to go to my 'happy place'. I know where there is a HUGE scrape deep in the woods that gets hammered every year. I've been waiting for these posts. Thanks all.
  17. Gotta' be the steroids they're sprayin' on the grapes. Enjoy all that venison!!!!
  18. That's a sick photo... It was a rough week... I think I feel like that rooster looks.
  19. Shimish.... what a drag you had huh?! That thing weighs more than me (and you by the looks of things). Congrats on a great deer.
  20. He's a healthy-lookin' critter... just a little camera shy.
  21. For my Target Panic I purchased a new sight. I went from .029" pins to .019 - make a HUGE difference for me!
  22. Been out in the normal 'hot' spots... NOTHING! Think I'll drive up to Montour Falls and go fishing for browns in Catherine Creek.
  23. Good luck WNY finding that buck... hope it's an easy job!
