ants replied to SteveNY's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
This is going back to the late 80's. You had to check in back then, maybe things changed. Thats a good thing. -

Buying long gun outside NYC with NYC address

NY City has some crazy gun laws. Back in the day me and a bunch of cop buddies ( all cops in upstate NY ) would go down to NYC for the Big East tournament. Everyone was requiered to checheck in at the nearest NYC Police station and register their guns or face being arrested if caught with them. Being young and full of pee and vinagar back then, no one ever checked in. Thinking back though someone could have really gotten jammed up. You never know down there. -

Taxes and penalties, on people who don't buy insurance and on employers, is how the whole thing was meant to be funded from day one. They know what they're doing. They are DIRTY BASTARDS!! Remember that. They they will do anything to push their agenda and they think you are stupid and that only they know whats best.

Good bow, from what I hear. The price sounds good too. I don't think you need to spend a ton of cash to get a good quality bow. Good luck

Bad..Bad..Bad, all around. Im sure it will cost an employer way more, per year, than the $3000 fine to provide insurance for each employee. So why would'nt the employer just S-can all employee insurance, pay the fine and save a ton of money? I would. I think the Supreme Court got a little activist on us. Suprise!! /

Real good info. thanks. Wish I heard it sooner. The last one I had on me I had to dig out with a pin and tweezers. Thanks again

I have used the same release for 10 years and have never had to clean it. I might have put a drop of oil into it once or twice but thats about it. No problems.

Funny...When my son was about 4 or 5 we were walking the shore of a local lake when (dispite my warnings not to) he tried to get close to some Canada Geese chicks. The mother came out of no where and went after the kid like crazy. I had to pick my kid up and run away, while yelling and kicking at the thing. My wife almost passed out!!

I was up in a stand one time and saw a rack moving through the leaves. Turned out to be a red squirrel dragging it along. I went and got it later and it was pretty gnawed up. I heard they do it to sharpen their teeth and get the minerals out of the rack.

OMG! Bus Monitor Abuse in Greece NY (video)
ants replied to Cabin Fever's topic in General Chit Chat
Unfortunatly this is what our school system has turned into. These little, spoiled pieces of $@#!T know that there is nothing much a teacher or administrator can do to them so they do what they want. And Im sure alot of the parents would ask " What did the monitor do to provoke my little angel?" Thats where we are people. Growsalot is just messing with us .....He can't be serious!! LOL .. Go one Grow!!! -
The guy is just a GOOF!! dont worry about it . If he had his way,he (and his ilk) would be able to hunt deer with rifles, from January till January.... Goofs!!! They can rationalize all they want... When they bash bow hunters they are just lazy GOOFS!!!. FYI.... Its 100 times easier to take a deer with a crossbow than it is with a regualr bow....But lets not talk about that...

300 yards is a long shot, in anyones book. Sounds like you would do fine with a lever 30-30 loaded with the Hornady Leverevelution ammo. This ammo extends the range of the 30-30 quite a bit and is very accurate. I'm not sure if it will make the 30-30 a 300yd gun but it will add range to this cal. A friend hunts with this gun/ ammo setup and does well with it. A few years ago, he took a deer at a little over 200 yds. with it and it and worked very well. If it turns out that you want a round with a little more distance and/or thump you can always trade up.You will never have a problem trading or selling a good lever action 30-30.

I switched to a 7mm-08 last year (Ruger m-77 with the same scope you have) I took a good buck with it at around 70 or 80 yds. and it folded him right up. He went maybe 20yrds. Its a good accurate round. I just used Rem. green box 140gr. ammo. but Im sure hand load stuff would be even more accurate. Good luck

All im saying is that there are better cals. out there with similar recoil. Thay will down deer way faster, and leave a better blood trail. The 243 will kill any deer any time, with a good hit. Why not use a round that folds them up way faster???( If recoil is the same) If all you have is a .243... Go for it...It will work. Good luck, Clown
