Here is the a list of new Obama laws
Meat First replied to nybuckboy's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Missed one: Direct the Attorney General to stop misguided sting operations that allow weapons to fall through the cracks. -
Hey guys I'm just saying that every year someone is trying to reinvent the wheel when they've been rolling along well before your time. I'm not trying to offend at all and I respect your right to hunt whichever and however you choose but nowadays everything has to be over-complicated. Oh and my 68 charger was much safer than my daughters prius!

Too late LOL -
Whatever you do Carbon just try to sit back relax and enjoy the sport, the outdoors and the peace and quiet of the woods. Don't pressure yourself and think you have to shoot a "big buck" and find the right outfitter and spend thousands on all the gadgets you see on tv. This is not a tv show. Best thing you can do in my opinion is find a few buddies and/or family members and start a hunting tradition that you will enjoy for the rest of your life. So slow down and enjoy.

No he's right we are surrounded by stupidity. Heard female co-worker this morning saying how she agreed with Cuomo and no one should have machine guns! I just kept walking because your not getting through to people like that. -
Funny how bow hunting mirrors life in that the younger generation makes everthing so complicated. This broadhead that broadhead this arrow that arrow, what draw weight ect ect ect....just like my kids with their "stupid phones" always doing three things at once and can't focus on one thing for more than five seconds it drives me crazy. What happened to plain ol' easton arrows and muzzy broadheads we had two choices 100 or 125 grain?

Missed 3 with the bow and no shots with the gun but still had great time! Have to practice shooting from elevated position this year before I bend the bow around a tree

Try vitamin D. One pill a day and two in the winter. You will never catch anything and you can thank me later.

I throw all my ingredients in the crock pot and when we get to camp I plug it in and cook 6 hrs...WOW. Just don't over cook because the venison breaks down too much and then it gets soupy.

Took my brother in law up for opening weekend and he brought marinated steaks from a doe he killed on the island and let me tell you they were the best steaks i have ever had...just used Lawry's steak n chop marinate

I will check your site out Tinlodge....never shot a crossbow in my 30 years of hunting but some of us guys pushing 50 are getting tired of the compounds...was even thinking about hanging up the bow and strictly gun hunting but i know i will miss hunting in Oct so tell me the advantages of xbows over compounds

You know what they say Robinson, "The police are always minutes away when you got seconds to live"

We used to get a real tree every year and every year the dog peed on it. It wasn't Christmas until Ralphie peed on the tree. Finally I had enough and bought a fake tree. Ralphie is gone now so I think next year we'll go back to getting a real tree. Oh the memories

We were driving home last month on route 17 between Hancock and Roscoe and on the side of the road eating a deer carcass was a huge coyote and when I turned around to look as we past it I swear it looked like a WOLF..yea i know i'm nuts. My buddy who was driving didn't get as good a look at it so he's going with coyote but I still think I saw a wolf.

Was bowhunting last year with my buddys son and it was his first deer season. We were in a double ladder stand on field edge when 4 does run across the field heading our way followed by a nice 4pter. I told the kid to get up and ready for a shot. then the stand starts shaking and I didnt realize it was the kids leg. He said he couldnt stop it from shaking. Well the buck never came into range but it was funny and we can rib the kid now unmercifully.

Good point burmjohn about not using your scope as binocs. Never really understood why someone wouldnt wear orange in gun season you are just asking for trouble. I hunt my own land and require everyone on my property to wear it or stay in camp. And believe me I get resistance every year. Just dont get it

Why thank you dear and have a safe and successful opening day!

Yea I used to find the same cigarette butts and empty beer bottles at bottom of my stands and I knew who it was but never caught him. Thankfully he moved and no more garbage pile.

I have two stands on my field about 100yds apart. Out on opening weekend and if I was in one stand the deer would be under the other. This happened for three hunts in a row so now one morning it starts to rain so I get down from the first stand and move to the second one because it has a roof. Of course around 1030am it stops raining and lo n behold a doe stands up form her bed and walks right under the stand I started in. So I've really had it at this point so I decide screw this treestand crap I'm going after her...stalk to within 25yards she spooks but gives me a broadside but I put one over her back. Got a good shot of adrenaline because I haven't shot at a deer from the ground in a long time! Missing was frustrating but a good hunt none the less.
