There has been a lot less deer by me since they started handing out DMP's individually instead of to a "Party of 4" or so. I have always seen acorns not eaten, ground under apple trees covered with apples all hunting season. Have to mow foodplotscause deer aren't keeping them down, other fields need mowing or the trees (regeneration!) take over. If I see 10 deer a season it was a good year now. There is no reason not to see 2-3 deer a day hunting in NY, besides the slaughter of the deer herd

What if they put the fire out, Who would pay for the fee(insurance actually) knowing its going to get put out anyway. That's like paying for car insurance knowing that your covered if you don't pay !

I agree with Doc. Just take Thursday Friday off instead of Monday Tuesday.

Well i saw one deer still hunting. 7 pt I shot at 20 yards. Other than that I haven't seen a deer from my stands in 2 years. With the exception of 4 deer I saw on the other side of the hill about 1/2 mile away. Saw them constantly.

I ordered one. Good quality and works as stated. Simple easy. The pouch for muzzle will keep it from getting any thing in the barrel.

Qthe Hunter, You can shoot 2 doe with your bow and muzzleloader tags and then shoot a doe with your regular tag during the last season if you don't shoot a buck. You think 3 isn't enough?

Since we are on the topic of filling out tags, does anybody know what pen works best? I have a horrible time writing on those tags.

125 gr steelhead. The only deer I didn't get a pass thru on was a fixed head. Unlike some that blame the broadhead I take full credit for bad placement. It hit the shoulder square and stopped!

How do you draw a bow in a 5' space? Do you stick the arrow out the window before drawing?

I had a buck walk in lay down 25 yards away for 2 1/2 hours. It got up and walked directly away from me.

Nope. Real windy by us. stayed on ground and saw nothing but three deer I kicked up walking to spot. 3 others saw nothing

outdoorstom. I agree each piece of land is different but biologists and most certainly the state has a # they feel is appropriate for each management unit. Just wondering if anybody knew what they were.

Does anyone know what biologists feel are the carrying capacity for deer throughout NY. Lets say agricultural verse old farm verse wooded areas?

Dumping illegally shot coyotes? ON THE THRUWAY!! I don't know where you would even come up with that. I have seen coyotes on the road live and dead. Not that uncommon

i remember people camping on 42 during the season. Must be 30 years ago, there were always deer hanging
