Foxyote - it happens when a fox and yote are quite certain either. lol

I pee from my stand all the time. Does that count? Never used doe urine.
-
Awesome pic wooly!

We are the same with regard to cams, but I remain hopeful that the does will draw the bucks in when they are most vulnerable. Good luck Fletch.
-
He truly was a hero as were many others that lost their lives trying to save others.

Very nice!

Did you receive Jesus to kill more deer Wolc? I assume the answer is no (it better be) so stop suggesting it as a reason to do so to others. YOU are missing the point, once again. No doubt God blesses but you sound like a prosperity preacher - hunting prosperity - suggesting that’s why one “gets right with God.” That is a false message. A conversation with God or your pastor may be helpful here. Sorry to the others for digressing. Just something that should be said on a subject I take very seriously. I am done preaching.

Wolc From one Christian to another, I recognize Jesus as my lord and savior because I understand and accept the gift of eternal salvation He offers to all through His sacrifice on our behalf. One doesn’t make this decision and accept His gift to “make it a lot easier to send them Deer to Deer heaven” as you put it. Please reconsider whether you are accurately spreading the message of the Gospel. It’s a constant theme in your posts that I believe requires correction. I am not seeking to debate with you. Rather, I ask you to think about it. To suggest I or any Christian accepts Jesus as their savior to kill more or bigger deer sounds as ridiculous as it really is and cheapens the gift of God’s grace.

I was joking and askiing where you were when I WAS STUCK IN THE FENCE. Guess I didn’t play it well. Good thing you did.

Been there done that. Where were you then?

Isn’t that PTT? Lol

Among my two hunting partners and I, I think we have checked and cut lanes for at least 40-50 stands in the last few weeks, among other things. Yet, I can always find more to do. lol We are ready to hunt but I guarantee adjustments will be made as season progresses. Always happens.

Ladder stands , are they secure?
moog5050 replied to Northcountryman's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Theoretically it could spin if the stabilizer strap and seat strap broke and the chain is kinda loose, but it won't come down. You will be fine. Give it a year or two and it will grow into the tree. lol One I re-strapped on Friday had both seat straps shot and didn't move when I climbed it because it was grown well into the tree. I added a new strap and good to go. -
Very good outlook!

In mendon, the deer took to brassicas year one - like bucks hitting it every night especially later in season. It will be interesting to see what happens here. I did try throwing some brassicas in this plot 5 years ago but it was mostly clover - then the plot slowly died away from clover until I tried the brassicas this year. They didn't seem to hit the brassicas back then. But there weren't many. We shall see. Its hard to do the work if they don't use it for a few years but it may end up paying off long term. At least it keeps the plot looking nice if nothing else. lol

Phade took this pic yesterday when setting a Cam. Called it a large salad. Lol
-
This plot has a quite a bit of varied ag in the area. Corn, soybeans and clover are all still available to the deer. I am really banking on this being used when those are no longer available. I am just hoping the plants don't grow too big before they become a preferred choice.

TF these guys are all just trying to suck you into a money and time wasting endeavor because misery loves company. Bow hunting is not fun at all ever. Expectations tempered!
-
If you only knew that bow has cams the size of dinner plates with a 70” ATA you might reconsider.
-
Looks a little bigger than the one that was killed in our camp this last spring -130lbs. Plus it’s had all summer to gain weight. I will agree with Gman here - 175-180ish.
-
I agree. But hopefully this fert will perk them up. Plan to frost seed more clover in the spring to add nitrogen before next season.
-
Maybe it’s not as overrun as he thinks. We hunt the other side of the rd. Honestly my buddy cleared the does out on nuisance tags three years ago for the farmer - probably did too good of a job. Now it has lots of bucks but early season only then they go find the does. elsewhere. I wouldn’t mind seeing a few more does around. But it’s not my primary hunting grounds. There are some big boys there now though.

No idea. But I can say I was skunked in both threads.
