  1. Whoever you are - I have probably shot 10,000 arrows and still need work. Lol Where is Larry?
  2. None of us are likely able to explain why the arrows impact differently other than to say form is different and I suspect you may not get to full draw/alignment when you snap shoot. I think most people are limiting potential when snap shooting but some are great at it.
  3. I thought maybe you would bring me to your property early to hunt that cow with antlers. lol
  4. I was told by the neighbor farmer that they may be worth hunting early this year as they are a few weeks late in growth.
  5. Looks like you found your target buck!
  6. Back on track tonight. Did some form work and realized I was letting bow shoulder ride up and not really pulling through shot. So I went to my micro shooting at 5yds. Once I hit the 3 dots in a row with bare shafts (usually takes me a few tries to hit all 3), I then move back to 20. Decent 3" or so group made me happy happy. Going to stick with the micro shooting for a week or so.
  7. I played college football and then competed in powerlifting for many years. Packing weight on was my specialty not dieting. I did diet for a bodybuilding show once but hated the strength loss. No program. Just eating heAlthier, lower carbs and less. One sometimes two cheat days a week. Not familiar with the programs you mentioned. Last serious effort I dropped 70lbs but it included living on protein shakes for a month. Going to try something more sustainable this time like moderation.
  8. On i wish I had taken a pic of tonight's groups. Let's just say that i would have had to use the panoramic feature. An elephant at 5yd s would have been safe. And I couldn't shoot my way out of it. I love trad shooting but when it goes bad it can be horrible. Let's just hope my body readjusts after a day break. Holy Smokes Was That Horrible!
  9. 215g German Kinetics. I just like to be different.
  10. Wow, what are the chances. Wouldn't want to be a yote in your area with that weather and all.
  11. Yep - few more on our cams than normal too. All night pics.
  12. By the way, the performance difference between those expensive high end customs and a decent warf is really meaningless for hunting. If you want exactly what you want, that's fine - I did, but you don't need to spend that kind of money for sure.
  13. As you are well away, recurves can cost as little as $150 for a starter and exceed $2000 for a high end custom. This is an ILF riser, which can be paired with limbs also running from $100-900. That said, the cost of warfing an older compound (if its a suitable candidate) is pretty reasonable (usually around $60-70 if you have the compound already and it needs to be milled plus shipping - you can even find plates on ebay for around $30 for some old compound risers like a black bear) and then you add the costs of the limbs ($100 for decent limbs and for $150 you can get trad tech black max limbs that many many people use for hunting). It might cost a bit more than a $150 starter recurve like a samick, but is much more versatile. IMO, its a great way to get higher end results without the higher end price tag. And you can change to higher end limbs or different weight or length limbs down the road. Also, unlike a starter bolt down, with a warf, you can change tiller and poundage to some degree. You can have a complete warf for around $200 (or less if you find used limbs) depending on the limbs selected. Add a string from our resident string maker Steve B (mountain muffler strings - the best), a $5 bear weatherest, and you are ready to shoot. I wouldn't hesitate to hunt with my daughter's warf and all in, it cost about $200 - and I can actually use her bow by just adding a different set of limbs that cost me $80 used.
  14. Where are the pics of the modified riser? Looks like it will make a beauty of a recurve and still have all the sentimental value. Won't dad be happy seeing you knock one down with his old bow!
  15. iPhone has been blinded.
  16. Grizz The bucks will come. A patterned beast would be great, but, give me good doe numbers and I will take my chances come the last week of Oct and first few weeks of Nov. Especially when you have a history of good days and locations during that period.
  17. We make the same ratio bacon venison burgers. Kids love them.
  18. Did not know that. So cool to have hunters of your vintage, eh I meant experience Pygmy!
  19. One of my colleagues from work goes every year for the parade. He brings the family and they enjoy it. But he lived in the city for several years and uses his sisters apartment when visiting. Not my thing but he likes it. Great restaurants for sure. I only go when necessary but always enjoy the meals.
