Yes, they are Class III casinos. Having represented two counties for many years against an Indian land claim where the tribes wanted to have a class III casino, I will say that most experts that have studied the effects agree that casinos tend to drain, not augment, the local economy. The quote from David Frum is on point. I would not want one in my area.

I agree. That's where common sense and safety as priority one come into play. Considering that judgment call must be made now at times, there is no reason it can't be made under extended hours.

Geeze, thanks for making me feel even worse. lol

75 yds down that trail is brighter and does have a backstop (big hill) another 100yds away. Its still a safe shot unless someone is trespassing. That said, from the stand, you couldn't make the shot that far away. Trees in the way.

Pro-Gun, Anti-NRA
moog5050 replied to Curmudgeon's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Curmudgeon I believe the simple answer to your question is that the government's infringement on 2d amendment rights is a slippery slope. Once it starts (and it has) there is no telling where it will end. If you believe in and value that right, even if only for hunting purposes, then the right should be defended in total - not only when it impacts you or hunting. -
Different buck wooly

Pygmy You will live my collection. I have both. Lol

If phade were sitting in that stand, the correct answer is, heck no he shouldn't shoot. He texts his buddy to get in position a bit further down the ridge cause a big one is coming. Kinda obvious! Remember that phade.

That place looks real familiar. The shot is less than 20yds too.

Closet cleaning- 243, turkey decoys, reloader, quiver...
moog5050 replied to gjs4's topic in Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
That's a steal on the quiver. Put it on AT - it will sell fast. -
Its inletted for that model, I think the concern is that if its not sufficiently precise some minor modifications (trimming) may be required. Yes, they are all specific to a certain model.

Just checked it out. I love thumbhole stocks and for $99, I will likely give one a try. Thanks for the info.
-
Didn't think anyone made a stock for the 220. Good to know.

Great job skillet. Way to finish off a wounded deer.

Contact the NY crossbow coalition. I think they were the driving force in NY and could explain how they lobbied.

You take some great photos Wooly. I would have that one hanging at home if it was my hat and gun.

Pretty much had the same experience with a BB in bow but add in a rabbit that was hopping around the BB. It was comical. All my efforts to see how much he would tolerate probably pushed all the shooters away. lol

Muddy fit that bill. Although the LW steps can be flipped from side to side. LW won't work if you are trying to get two feet at the same level though.

You wont be disappointed. Very smooth.

The mora knives may be the best bang for the buck. Used a mora companion to gut yesterday. Sharp, right length and easy to clean. Hard to beat for $15.

Not sure about whether a non-tribal member could be charged for buying ammo without the background check. Under the safe act, is it the responsibility of the seller or buyer to ensure compliance? For example, sales tax is the responsibility of the buyer, even though the seller collects it. All depends on the language of the safe act, which I don't know off-hand. If it says that the buyer must undergo a background check before buying, maybe they could be charged. If it says that the seller must conduct a background check before selling, then probably not. As a practical matter, I suspect non-members will get away with it if the tribes sold ammo.

Culver As against non-tribal members, the safe act is enforceable. The State (and Feds) has jurisdiction. Since the safe act violations are not listed as major crimes under the US Code, as against tribal members, neither the Feds nor State have jurisdiction to enforce the law in Indian Country (which includes reservations).
