if you have a PSE dealer check out the PSE Brute x, they are calling this bow one of the best this year from the archery show in Jan and it goes out the door in the same price range as the other two... -

It was a 2 day even and both days were sunny, highs in the mid 60's, location was Sand dune archers of Myrtle beach SC. I shot one of the best scores for the start of the season and at 70 years young hat a plus. I took my oldest compound down here and like a old friend it sure shot well for me. They score super kill was 12, kill at 10 and a wound as 5. I had 25 kill score, 5 super kill and just 2 in the wound. We shot with two young kids that were brothers at 15 and 13. When they talked with us it always ended with thank you Sir. I met there mom and told her she had some great boys and it was a pleasure to shoot with them. They won the young shooters class, the younger boy beat his brother just two point. best to all and keep me posted on this site on how you all up north are doing. Bill

well I am down south and all those eat dinner places so I am only going to them two times a week. I am shooting the bow about 3 times a week at sand dune archers of myrtle beach sc. Also playing cards etc... but sure will have to start again when I get home, to walk and diet.

no problem and would hope he can take another buck. I have in some cases did silent drives to help my buddy get a buck after I had tag one.

I sure do and yes I am still shooting last week for several hours out at the Sand dune archers in Myrtle beach SC....65 degrees and sunny this week tues, thur and both sat and sun as they have a full 36 targets shoot this coming weekend and or also they have a 900 round for those that like to shoot arrows at 40, 50, 60 yards a total of 90 arrows and if all in the gold you score 900 points... I will be shooting my compound at the 3D's.

I hunt north pharsalia off of one eye road and also off of warner road south otselic I went out several times and saw not a lot of anything a few fawns with doe's and let them walk. at 70 years young I also do not spend all day in the woods, most times now I drive so I get to the area to spend the last 4 hours of the hunting day in a natural ground blind and no tree stands...

my thanksI usre miss hunting the rabbits with a good pack of dogs...now 70 just can not longer have a dog as we go south for 3 month to get away from the snow. but watching your hunt and the dog barking sure brings back olden times for me so thanks again with sharing. -
we all lose a few points in the bag targets or 3D..but for BH I have a BH target, so far no lost BH's or vanes cut off....

one of the great areas to fish. My Dad loved to fish it in the 60's. I started fly fishing were it ran into the beaver kill off of rt 17....

I am down in SC at the sand dune archers they have the best practice area. They have 4 ft by 4 ft bag target, they make they with carpet. they have a form of 2 x 4, then put a pice of carpet in the back side screw it in, then put on the fron a carpet piece and only screw it on for about 8 inches, then fill it in with plastic bags, thnescrew in another 8 inchs and fill, then keep doing till the total is filled all the way to the top... they use both plastic bags they get from Walmart and also old shirts, pants, blankets...anything in the cloth line...the plastic bags seem to be the best bet as they never hold water and up north that would freeze in the winter,,,,,

that a great sight if you have good eyes. Now being 70 I have the 3 pin in .029 size pins on one bow and the other has a slider scope sight in the .029 fiber optic.I seem to like the slider better for shooting targets but still like the 3 pin for hunting. I have it sighted in at 25, 35 and 45 yards... good shooting with you new sight

Fly Fishing - Where to start?! - Got a Rod for Xmas from the old man!
sweet old bill replied to burmjohn's topic in Fishing
there is also a site fly fishing new york. they tell you what working in flies, also all kind of tips. I try to get down to the beaverkill each year for a day or two and beat the water with the fly rod. I just also try to see what flys on on the water and then try to match to what flys in my fly box. I got flys from the 60's from Herters that still look new and work as well as a new $5 fly. I learned to cast on the water, that ensures no damage to the line or a practice fly. good luck -
welcome I would love to do those type of things but at 70 (age), retired on fixed income I have the means to just hunt local state areas etc.
