While cleaning my shotgun today, I realized that i have some very light rust in the threads where I would screw the choke in. So how should I go about cleaning it to get rid of it? I soaked it with some hoppes #9 and plan on leaving it overnight and hoping that will take care of it. I've never had rust in my barrel and i'm a little nervous about it.
Ya I don't know how you guys would hunt on a day like today. I can deal with cold and snowy but cold and rainy is just pure misery! Good luck out there.
I looked at some updated figures yesterday and it looks like Rocky Point is up to 23 deer so far. Still a couple weeks left in the season to get it done though.
I don't think it will change how passionate I am about hunting and I would continue to hunt the same amount, but this would never happen. Although if it did, I would crack a few does early and then do some bird/small game hunting.
I'm going to be using hevi-shot as well with a high quality choke. I was under the impression that all state land didn't allow target practice but Ill check again if any near me allow it.
What range do you guys pattern your shotguns to? And do any of you guys know of any range i can go to in Westchester or LI where I can pattern my shotgun?
Nice going! I hate to see an animal suffering. Im not sure I would have killed the deer my self if I didn't have tags but im glad you knew someone who did.
I hunt almost every weekend of bow and rifle with the exception of the first and second weekend of October and then i stop the last day of rifle season.
Hunting and fishing is a part of who I am. I grew up hunting and I can't picture me not doing it. I love being outdoors and spending time with my father. I also like getting my own food and knowing where it comes from.
