    What decoy set up are you guys planning on using this year for the begining part of the season. Ive always used just 2 or 3 hens, but im thinking of adding a jake this year.

    Only time ill cover a deer is if its a big buck and I dont want people knowing where I shot it. Thats only becasue I want to minimize the risks of trespassers or if its on public land. I honestly couldnt care less if people don't like the look of a dead deer, because ill never see those people again.

    I hear theyre an absolute mess to raise. My grandparents had 2 geese when they lived upstate a long time ago, and those were some of the best guard animals around. They would honk and actually run up to any car that would come up the drive way, but would stop once they saw someone they knew. I would go up everyso often and those things recognized me every time. I don't remember them being messy to be honest, but it was a long time ago. Coyote got them both one night in the winter though.

    Why not? I didnt see if it was a canned (high fence) hunt, but whats the difference between a sleeping lion and one thats awake? To me thats like asking if I would shoot a bedded deer...of course I would!

    Guess ill be the minority in this topic as always, but I still don't drink coffee. Id prefer not to be addicted to coffee so I never drink it. Mornings suck right as I wake up, but once I shower im all good. Love the smell of coffee in the morning as weird as that is though.

    Definitely no better than average, thats for sure. Probably not even average, just lucky more than likely. Couldnt call in a bird to save my life last season

    In ulster county. Its easier when you have a lot of land to hunt, like out west, but it is possible here

    Really depends on the dates, but I might be in. Like others said, you dont even have to have a drink. Last night I didnt have one beer, and I had an amazing time with the guys. Getting together with the guys from here is not something I would suggest missing!

    I know guys that do it. You usually can ride right up to them because they see the horse and usually know they're not a threat
