With a bow I will, but not with my 06. I usually don't see many rabbits so I let those guys go, but ill always take a turkey if they're in season.

You can definitely hang quarters and achieve the same results as hanging whole with hide. I don't think a cooler would be needed for just a few hours in a car. I drive about 2 hours to my spots and ive never had a deer go bad in that time.

Love this thread! If you don't mind me asking, how do you train a dog to track dogs? Is there somewhere you'd recommend me to look for information on this?

How far apart is the 3 acres and your land? Maybe a quick ride to the property to check cams and if you don't like what you see, you could drive back. Either way who ever hunts that 3 acre piece will have a deer down come saturday! Im pulling for your father to get that large 8

Maybe your father can check the cams tomorrow mid day so you have an idea?

Id say follow the sign biz! You know whats been moving on your property, so unless your liking your chances there id go with the other property.

Ya I always thought it was a shame. I got it because of their innovative features and accuracy. There is no doubt that they are shooters. I've shot sub MOA and I only get to shoot a couple times a year. I just don't think it got the attention it needed since it was a 700-800 dollar gun.

I doubt it made a difference in increasing sales, but maybe it stopped people from quitting.

I heard good things about it, but im sure the best you can use is farm fresh from a reputable place. I think Four seasons touched upon how sometimes estrous is just urine with no estrous. I know Charles Alchimer mentioned how he used to use cow estrous and dilute that with urine, so maybe that's a better route.

Ill be missing opening day but my spot will be on the same property ive been hunting the last 8 years and the same spot ive hunted the last 4 or 5. Its a hang on 60 yards from the edge of a field. Seeing good sign coming from that field, but recently its mainly been at night. I would like to hunt the spot that ive been seeing most of my deer now, but im a little unsure if ill be able to shoot a rifle there due to one barn being with in 166 yards. I'm trying to find the number of the person that owns that so I can ask for permission to shoot. Ive spoken to them a couple times, but at that point I wasn't sure about the yardages for the other houses so I never even bothered.

Let it hang! Helps with the rigor mortis. If it stays in the 40's tomorrow id let it hang for as many days as I can.

BY the time it was legal for me to hunt, it was already a Saturday opener. I think that in days where hunter participation is at record lows it doesn't make sense to have an opener on a day that a lot of people can't get off. We need more people to be out for this sport to stay alive.

Sounds like it shouldn't have any recoil at all!

Some people are recoil sensitive and need a round with less recoil. If your scared of the recoil, you might make a bad shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree with you. But like I said I didn't know any better and didn't know anyone at the time that could help. The only people I knew that hunted and were close enough to help mainly hunted with iron sights or has someone else do it for them. At the time I didnt know how to do that so i relied on dicks. They did it once and it was alright but the scope was a little canted and the second time the gap was way bigger on one side. Looks like ill have to do it my self.
