  5. Years ago I found one by accident at the Jump Off in Ontairo county park . I put the kids on a large fallen tree to take a pic and found an Altiods tin with some trinkets in it , had no,idea at the time what it was. A few years ago my dept recused a couple looking for one in a tunnel that carries run off into the river gorge . There had been a lot of rain and they got trapped in there. They were very lucky that their cell phone worked in the tunnel .
  6. Many years ago in bow a had a 5pt one come in but no,shot . I told my friend who lives behind my woods, he said Bernie , the farmer next door did not want it shot. My first thought was well if it's on the farm I hunt I'll shoot it. Well I passed on it TWICE on opening day once at 30 yards broadside ! Never saw or heard about it again, wish I shot it , to be honest .
  7. I'm not much help, but when my buddy bought his land idk 3 years ago, he hired some sort of land " expert" for lack of the correct term. But he checked for anything that could come back on my friend , past dumps , old barrels of a waste oil , any wet land issues , drainage and so,on .
  8. Some think Johnson embellished his tales a bit , I like to believe though . I came across the book in a book store out West in the '80's they had a large Western section . I tend to visit book stores and museums when I travel , or maybe I just followed a cute girl into the store .....
  9. i have to add the movie , " after Image" staring John Melloncamp and Louis Fletcher, it was made here in Rochester by a friend of mine, and I was security for Melloncamp, where he went I went . Along with my Glock and a 3D Maglite. It was shot largely in the hood, one night one guy was shot to,death and another hacked with a machete right outside the set on the corner of Clinton and Clifford ave . I also taught Melloncamp how to,use the .45 prop gun, although that scene was cut from the movie .

  12. Jeremiah Johnson is of course a great movie, too those who like it I recommend the book it's based on . Crow Killer , The saga of Liver eating Johnson . They left the fact he ate the livers of those he killed out of the movie ...... Not sure if he ate them with fava beans .

  21. I could be wrong as that happens a lot, but my understanding is that one of the reasons the P&Y club was formed , was to show that the bow was an effective weapon for taking game animals. I say this as my good friend and hunting partner in Washington is friends with the St.Charles family . For those that don't know bow hunting a history ,the late Glen St. Charles ( a man I've met ) is one of the founders of P&Y club . Half of Glen's work bench where he made bows , arrows and such is in the P&Y museum, the orther half in my buddies basement . Sadly IMHO it's turned into a " I made the book" club today .
  22. Ha, I'd guessed tomorrow ..... Well Happy Birthday anyways !
