  1. Well what did they say when you introduced your self and expressed your concerns to them ?
  2. Rockspec, as you know Bullseye is just down the road a bit from you. I've had arrows made there and he got me out of a jam one morning , by getting my release out from under my cam....( no charge). About two dozen guys on the job shoot in a league there as well and seem to,like it there . Oh and buying that 12 ga the night before opening day , seemed to,work, out ok !
  3. I'm not into bows or equipment used on them . In close to,30 years of bow hunting I've owned two, bows and couldn't tell you who makes the release, site, rest and so on. What I can tell you is my first bow I could shoot "fingers" but the new bow I got 8 or so,years ago I use a release . So many of today's bows are short and the "V" where your fingers go on the string is to small to fit your fingers well. A release works very well and removes a human factor from the shot .
  4. That was this morning ? Would be the second one in two, days on Canandaigua Lake. http://www.whec.com/news/boat-fire-canandaigua-lake/4219955/?cat=565 Well I'm heading out on the Bay shortly !
  5. Never done it. If I had limited days to,hunt I would max out the time by sitting all day I guess. I typically get in my stand as its getting light and sit 2,3,4 hours depends. The afternoon 2 hours max . id try it opening day, but my guys can't sit, and generally one or more of us have something pretty early in the morning .
  6. 33 paces, one and done .

That's a common error . Now when it's says resident and non resident for licenses and tags, that means NYS resident or a resident of another state ,not zone, 7m or so forth .

    Beer

Schooners on the river , Empire IPA. Now dinner at Hose 22, 22 amber. althoigh "Amber" seems a bit dark...
  9. Friends yard just outside of Seattle .....
  10. Lol mine are in a laundry basket outside my gun/hunting room where they've sat since last Nov. I figure by the season I'll think they're clean and need to be put away .
  11. I've no issue with stands on the line as long as they shoot onto their land . Now when we first went rifle here, first we noticed truck tracks driving around a hay field, owner of land asked me to put up more posted signs , which I did. Then more tracks , and they went right to a "point" that would allow a rifle to cover the width of our whole field . Next a large shooting shack went up on stilts with the only opening looking right across the field at my ladder stand on the other side of the field ..... we had a talk with that guy who actually denied building it at first! He never got to sit there once. your case you already got lots of good advice , good neighbors are worth their weight in gold, he could be a great guy who had permission prior .

Do,you, mean DMP ? DMAP's are issued to specific plots of land ( like farms) as an extra way to,control damage , and can be assigned to anyone by the permit holder to use only on that piece of land . DMP what ,many call doe tags are good for an entire zone and anyone can apply for them. a landowner of 50 or more acres would be first , along with disabled Veterens to receive DMP.
  15. My hunting clothes from last year have not even been washed yet.
  16. First ( only) arrow today, dont like to,shoot much in my yard. Plywood behind target then a small stand of trees then a fence, neighbors are ok with it, but I don't want to be "that guy". 27 paces a little left of straight on . My 3 vane arrow today.
  17. Now there is a man who,practices !
  18. Thanks I almost took another shot as i figured it looks "to good." Trust me others will not ....
  19. And it's so nice of him to stand broadside in your shooting range !
  20. First arrow of the year ! 25 paces , that's how I measure and guess distances . Walk the dog guess at driveways , mailboxes the whole walk . Anywho very pleased with shot although my bow shoulder hurt quite a bit . Can't see me shooting each day in this thread as I never ever shoot each day to begin with . Great idea though !
  21. Farmers , farm a lot of land they don't own , but treat it as such . Asking them to hunt it ( a right they generally don't have to say one way or another ) is a waist of time , however they often just say no as if it's theirs . Many many land owners never even visit or use their land they rent out to the farmers , THAT is who one needs to reach , and there are quite a few of us . I have one stand on our 120 acres and I don't think I used it once in bow last year and once or twice in gun , in almost 3 decades I recall 2 asking ME to,hunt it ( each granted ). Over the last 28 years I can't tell you how often the farmer has gotten calls about our land , ( sometimes for people shooting "machine guns " on it lol it's a bump stock AK ) or I'll be there talking to a local and they say oh I thought farmer Brown owned that .
  22. I'm In ! I'll take my first shot since last Nov. tomorrow .
