    Boat Question

At Hinkley Lake ,which has a very steep drop off. First few nights bow just on sand and tied off to chain on beach . That night I pulled it way up,onto beach , which I guessing put transom lower into water . All we can guess is waves started to over take the transom and it started to slide farther down the drop off. Anchor boat in the water so,it free floats and bow out. On a lake with out such a sharp drop off beaching it is less of a risk. Where we are standing ? A few feet farther out its over our heads. I'll give you one other tip, when anchored always start your boat BEFORE pulling anchor . Many pull anchor then find it starts hard and they drift into other boats, shore you name it .

    concert

Just came home from seeing Juinor Brown at the Rochester Jazz Fest. Although he's far from Jazz..... His concert was in a bar/concert hall owned by a retired firefighter , so our beer was free , and Junior , tore it up ! Enjoy Garth .

    Boat Question

Well my family has been boating since1959, my Dad had a wood Lyman then this '64 Starcraft . I'm not much help on boats because well we tend to keep the same ones ..... Had this one out on Lake Ontario yesterday. It sunk a few years back, well half sunk. You'll notice outboard is all the way under, yes plug was in. Don't worry about sinking all you need is a 5 gallon bucket with a large crack and pasta pot, and you'll be back boating in no time ! Good luck , myself I'd buy used much cheaper .
  6. We were on the roof , cut two vent holes and removed some metal over windows on a part of the building that was two stories. It was by looking in there that we saw all the burned plants, I walked over to the Chiefs to tell them rather then put it out over the air. Soon after the dispatcher put it out for everyone to " remain on air, until told otherwise. " lol Luckily a guy who owns a nearby business , did bring us a few dozen donuts .

Please forgive me. But this Coors light girl gave me free Coors light and glass. How could I refuse ?? Edit for posting from phone without reading glasses !
  8. Well I swapped cars at the Buffalo airport and went to Cabela's , only to remember I left my uniform in the trunk of the car I dropped off! I got plenty, but this one had a Microtec switchblade and a Strider fixed blade and a flashlight I use a lot in the pants . Store was nice ( I'm not a shopper by and standard ). Spent about half and hour , bought 600 rounds of 9mm. They had a nice price on Sig Sauer hollow points. Oh a decent knife counter , Benchmade, Spydreco and some Knives of Alaska , KOA are very nice hunting blades if anyone is in the market . It was a quick trip, I just got off nights and worked 38 hours in a row. 2 fires and a ton of other calls so I was a bit tired. One of the fires was a grow operation 150 pot plants up,in smoke..... Best smoke I took in , in sometime !!!!

  12. So tomorrow I have to go to,the Buffalo airport to swap out a car, we have our daughters to have work done and she has one of ours parked there . I thought perhaps I'd add a stop at Cabela's if it's close, which it looks like it is. I've been to F&S , Gander MTN , never a Cabela's . How's their hiking. Backpacking selection ? I'm looking for new day pack, possible Camelback, around here the selection seems lacking . Thanks.

  20. Last custom cover I had made was many years ago by a guy in Heniretta in his garage , and it was great ! Lasted many many years tight fit , double canvas at stress points. One here in Webster Steves custom canvas burned to the ground ..... Currently I'm using those generic strap ones and it sucks , so I know why you're looking. This time of year they may be backed up 2 months , prior to the fire I called Steves it was May and my date to bring it was in July . The cost is way up as well now days . Good luck , sorry I don't know anyone near you, though just sharing my experience . Seems Steves is back open , it's about an hour and twenty minutes away from you , I'd take you to lunch though. http://www.stevescustomcanvas.com
