Im not . It's early and I got 40 some days off between Oct and Nov. Heck I just washed the clothes from last year two days ago....... Daughter throwing moving to NYC party tomorrow afternoon at a county park, so after the gym I'll help her with that. i might go a morning or two later in the week, then shoot some handguns on my range across the road. I'll be out handful of times till the end of Oct. one nice thing about this time of year is I can sleep in till 5:30 or so and still make the drive and be on stand in time.

Many boaters are clueless today . My folks built a cottage on Port Bay in 1,959 , I grew up there every weekend and two weeks each summer . if you saw a guy fishing you gave him room or if you could not you throttled back , same for skiers , you gave them room . iv been going out in boats since '59 ( ok I was one then) but you get the idea . Today's boaters I call grinning idiots , they swamp you, come to,close to,your kid in the water as you prepair to,pull,them skiing and smile and wave as they pass. They have no,idea what the " stand down boat means " let alone who has the right away. A few years back we almost got hit by a giant boat on Lake Ontario , they came from behind off to my left , only two,boats out there , my daughter started to yell, I looked and turned the wheel just in time really . i started to draw my .40 cal,Glock but commen sense and my wife stopped me . I did make note of the boats name and spent two summers searching marinas for,it. im a patient man with lots of free time and a cord less drill ......

Talk about timing , just got off the phone with our youngest in Buffalo. She's a big rubber duck fan , as odd as that sounds. She just flew back from NYC where she went for,some concert and was very upset she missed the big rubber duck !

Never owned a truck killed about 100 deer I'd guess. Since I no longer own a mini van ( Great hunting vehicle btw ) I use this .

Tennesse you say... My nephew and his kids and their friends do ok. He hot bigger but it's hard for me to go through all the pics and find the good ones . Tennesse is a gold mine for,white tails and so,over looked.

I'm old school I grab an antler and place one foot in front of the other , rinse and repeat. Hunting farm land sometimes I can drive the Buick close so the drag is only a couple hundred yards, but sometimes it's half a mile . Carts don't work as it's often plowed fields of thick mud or heavy brush. I'm happy if I come out the correct side of the brush.....sometimes I step out and say corn? There's no corn on the east side of the brush ! Im 57 with two bad shoulders a pinched nerve in neck, arthritis in both feet and hands and that's just the short list . You youngsters need to step it up. Id call for help except I hunt mostly week days and hunt mostly mornings

Agree , after the season I might not get back for three months , this time of year who knows three weeks? It's to freakin hot for me to be in the woods . I hunt farm land, I've watched monster bucks come through , minutes after workers left after bulldozen trees and burning stumps. So,no I don't spray down or anything , my cams are not anywhere near core bedding areas or other off limit spots, most are not where I have stands . I do really enjoy seeing what's on the cards , it's way cool . I just don't place them near where I want to,hunt as I want to stay away from those spots.

First off from what I've seen most guys can't tell the correct height, on hang ons, they tend to over exaggerate the height . One guy I know said has stand was 15 feet ,I could touch it with an arrow from the ground .... Myself I go 15 or so, like said cover is key, and in the rut the bucks are so,stupid , 5 foot and wearing a clown suit would work.

Try any of the parking lots around me, I've got to dodge 100's of them daily . We use to hunt the ponds in Greece NY in Sept. Made blinds in the cat tails , put out idk 30-40 decoys and used flags and calls. Guy at work was a major Waterflowl guy he did all the work. Great time you can hunt in shorts ,smoke cigars and so forth. We gave the birds to the guys fishing at the boat ramps. The first time I went, my first bird was double banded, I guess that's a big deal or something .... my friend set the decoys with gaps in certin spots , so,they'd fly into those areas .

Mow paths that allow you shoot deer as they pass through them . Set up a couple stands for different winds, leave the majority and all of the outside , you want them to feel secure in there still . One friend has a large golden rod field and this works great, also he has to cross it and the mowed path lets him approach the stands with as little noise as possible . He's watched the sun come up only to see bedded bucks not far off from the path he took, if it wasnt mowed he'd have busted them for sure .

Thanks Mike, there were a few "groups " in between those pics. not so great , so when I had the three touching , it was time to quit. i always stop on a good group, I feel,it helps ones psych , you tend to,remember the last group .

Before pre finish , flooring guys got high from the fumes off the poly, so they didn't know how much they hurt . Friend was a very sought after flooring guy, zero advertising , word of mouth only . He drove a van that always had a dish pan or two of poly and various finishes just covered with a towel . He is the funniest guy I ever met, that might have been the reason.

I'm sorry to hear this gfdeputy2 . You did keep your MIL out of a nursing home though, she's better off at your home .Although it's a full me job , well four actually to do 24/7. My Mom went from Us, to assisted living ( which was a very good one and she did well there), to a nursing home . We worked with an elder care attorney , for both picking a good one, and setting up a private annuity to save on the private pay costs. Private pay runs about 15 k a month , although we got that down quite a bit. The issue is the fast turnover of staff, it's the staff that makes a place good or bad , it went from good to not so good in short order , the staff at your house wil remain the best there is . You'll get through this .

Took the Mrs. To Hedges , a restaurant right on Lake Ontario in the town I live in . I had this bone in rib eye .

I only shoot management bucks, any buck I can manage to shoot ! Farm has rules about buck size, I stick to that , but don't Walt for certin ones .

No idea how much or little rain my spot got, but the corn looks ok, and the secret enterance in needed to be cut so the Buick can haul the deer out .

I hunt many days, but few hours. Afternoon hunt , I'm on stand maybe two hours . Morning about three, then I leave and go to the gym, work in then yard whatever . If I feel like sitting longer I will, if I get bored I'll leave .
