  1. I have a LW climber, not the sit and climb though, I like it fine although never tried a summit. I do have LW sticks and would say with their sticks and a hang on I can be set up in 5 minutes easy.
  2. Couple guys from work drove to Colorado for elk in bow season, shot a nice bull. DIY hunt. Friend in Montana gets nice bulls with his bow, again public land DIY hunt. Certainly doable with right research . I spent way under 2 k to go to Montana and whack a mullie. Here a pic.of buddy's last elk in Montana
  3. At headquarters they have a contest where the non hunters pull names of hunters out of a hat. Whoevers hunter gets the biggest buck the non hunter wins ,kinda like a fantasy football league. There are hard core hunt all the time always kill big buck guys, newbies ,I saw a deer once hunters . Luck of the draw, but there is always some new guy who stumbles on a monster. It's pretty funny they write up a bit about each hunter, " odds on favorite unless he gets a girlfriend " ,stuff like that.
  4. This woman thought she'd cook it overnight while she slept.....
  5. So Thanksgiving Day found me working. Pretty much non stop stove fires,a chimney fire and a despondent person barricaded. Your basic Holiday calls. Here is the winner of most over done turkey/ stove fire . See your wife is not that bad of a cook after all.
  6. That's the only time driving is allowed on the farm in certin areas , fun fun time. Now our drives ,the watchers are a 1/4 to 1/2 mile or more away from area driven. Lots of does dropped , you can almost pick the tree or bush they'll run to. That's what 25 or 30 years of hunting same spot will teach you.
  7. Son ,,that was a joke.... I don't hunt near where I live lol...
  8. Farm is not wild about sharing pics. Of deer ,the faces have been cut out to protect our spot ....
  9. I'd say last night many deer died, I heard more shots from 4 to 5 than all the other afternoons combined. My buddy took a nice 8pt 24 inch inside spread close to my stands,3rd nice buck with in a few hundred yard spot.

    Turkey day

Working days wed. Thur. Fri. Love a Thanksgiving day hunt though seldom get to do it.
  11. Moved a few . My wife works for a safe co. Gets good prices so most of my friends got them. We moved them ourselves ,however seldom did ours go over 500 pounds that's a 2 or maybe 3 man job if they'er desk type guys. if your going in basement. A 500 pounder is quite easy. In your case I think I'd pay for a pro. One thing you can lighten it up A LOT by removing the door .
  12. Right behind ya Canandaigua bound!
  13. I saw 3 this morning, a pair and a single ,considering I'm in thick brush and viewing distance is basically bow range that's a good morning for me,I wish you luck.
  14. Sat till 10 00 3 does should have shot the first one..... Waited, frozen boot on steel stand = 'running does.... Stayed warm though love the new Under Amour. Had on a base layer a UA sweatshirt and my coat, toasty at 16 degrees!
  15. No way I'm posting anything like that. Let's see he says s. Ohio, ok let's start with a search of all his other posts on that forum and all other hunting forums using the same user name and see what clues we find. Tineye all his photos see if that brings anything. He has his pic. on there so someone knows him and where he hunts.
  16. We need an ignore button. Many forums have them ,just click on a guys name hit ignore never see any of his posts.
  17. My friends son shot a deer in Montana with 5 degree temps. On the other side of the river..... One guy went back for the waders while the rest built a fire . Once the deer was floated back across the gutting began. If you touched the knife blade your finger stuck to it ! Might do a 30 minute Webster hunt later today.
  18. Good luck! Just so you know I'll be freezing right along with you,in a stand just in the east edge of our brush.
  19. Sounds like we hunt the same spot.... In my case my woods/brush is basically an island with crops all around it. Once they are cut the ground gets plowed up, deep deep furrows and no food in them. The hunting Gets hard, little seen few tracks. I have no choice but to grind it out, hope some get pushed back and our low pressure holds them. The 3 of is all saw deer opening day but nothing we could (size) or wanted to take opening day. Right after that the Iast cut corn was plowed, and everything stopped. Standing corn across the road and a swamp to stay in we need pressure in that swamp so they bed on our side. If I were you I'd be in,or along the swamp.
  20. Snowing and blowing here in Webster. Just got off working nights, not much keeping me in this afternoon ! Always calmer on the low (east) side of " the slope". That's where I'll be hoping for some company .
  21. I'd love to ,but after 5 minutes I'd be on another's land. All around us are sit and don't walk land.

    My morning

I too feel your pain, two kids on opening day on my very well posted land. Walking, which we also don't allow, shooting at a small buck which is not allowed, walked through thick brush which we don't enter more then 20 yards, for our stands.
