Highly recommended read for Antler Restriction
Nomad replied to WhitetailAddict11's topic in Deer Hunting
I hunt a 3,000 acre farm with it owns AR rules, many many farms around us arg on board as well,it's worked very well. Not every land owner is on board,no biggie their land do as they please. Where Tony lost me was the " refused to be educated" , hum sounds like Tony Sorprano... Or this guy Captain, Road Prison 36: What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men. -
Ok I have a Tauras mod. 85 concealed hammer. I gotta say had it for many many years box after box sent down range, plus P as well. I got,no complaints . It's mostly a bed side gun for,the wifey when I'm on nights.

Recovering lost or stolen items (trail cams)
Nomad replied to First-light's topic in General Chit Chat
You gotta be within 150 feet of the the tile. Good for finding your keys in the house/yard,not so,sure about stolen stands or cams. -
Obama on student loans
Nomad replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Not sure what vet is other then an animal Dr. But I just did look around and found this. So ya I feel a little better. http://www.whitehouse.gov/issues/education/higher-education/ensuring-that-student-loans-are-affordable I take this issue personal ,but then I'm one of the last people who believe in paying my own way. -
Obama on student loans
Nomad replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
Ok my wife will be up on a roof with a rifle if loans are forgiven. We paid cash for both our kids college. 5 year masters for one , and the other has 2 degrees, a BS then went for accelerated nursing which is 2 years of college in one. We live in a nice but smaller home,I never ever had a car payment ,we drive nice but older used cars,no CC debt. We sacrificed to give our kids a nice debt free head start . We're not rich, my wife has zero college and works now part time in an office,I'm a firefighter, nice job good pay,but not upper income by any means. If others chose to put their kids in debt so they can drive new trucks and live in big houses that was there choice. Now pay up ! Honest to God I think I would be up there next to her. -
You got my vote.

That's clear overwhelming proof of mountain loins in NYS ! Da....

Well this greedy land owner can't wait to sell, well I guess I am waiting though, being a land owner gives me certain privileges I'd like keep for now. The farmland prices in Ontario county around us are climbing nicely . It does not stay on the market 20 minutes if it ever gets listed at all. Mostly it is bought up by a few of the bigger farmers with it never getting listed at all. Anyone Who wants to buy it is free to do what they please, hunt, tarp, farm, build Wal Marts. I like that.

Not a big fan of them. Now the rolling right on red I don't see as a big deal and most cops wont waste their time writing you for it. The folks who fly through the red 2,3 ,4 cars in a row sometimes, that really bothers me. Also most drivers don't understand the whole red light law. If you stop over the stop line,(that's that white line painted on the road),that so many ignor and make it so we can't turn the firetruck, you've run a red light. If you pull into the intersection to turn left, but it turns red before you can make your left turn you've run a red light your supposed to wait behind the stop line. Oh as far as us city workers beeping exempt ,yes and no. The fine goes to the vehicles owner,so the city would have to pay itself. The employee does face disciplinary action though. If I remember it right ,it was something like 100 times in a year and a half ,the number of city vehicles is way in the hundreds on the road daily passing through thousands of intersections a day. 100 times in 18 months is pretty darn low.

Some of the above May well happen. It has not been my experience though, the town of Irondequoit had for years and years a controlled bow hunt right in peoples back yards, while it was controlled by a SGT from IPD so it was a little differant. Webster has one as well I hunted in it,houses near by, dog walkers, hikers you name it,runs pretty smooth. I know tons of stands up in Webster that are way under 500 feet now,I've bow hunted 30 yards from a home, they never knew when I was on stand, yes I had permission. A buddy hunted a great spot in Brighton for years, what was it called? Some sort of nice Glen type place, the spot he set up in he could shoot the width with his bow, housing tracks all around. No issues . The problems may be when a bunch of guys all want the one small spot.

End zones ! And I watch zero football.....

Hum that woods across the street from me would then be legal....right now there is no way I could get permission from everyone with in 500 feet, although Jim across from me said I could shoot them for inside his kitchen each morning.... Heck if I get permission from 1 house each side that would work under the new law ! Just walked the dog over there tons of beds and tracks, issue always was to get 500 feet from the houses on each side was impossible the woods is only 800 feet wide. My experience with suburban hunting small wood lots is they tend to stay in cover when shot, no guarantee though ,good thing I know all the neighbors pretty well.

When it's this cold we just leave a corner of one room burning so we got a place to go warm up !

The most hated new gun on the gun forums,it'll sell well !! It should have been a single stack 9 ,it's to big to compete with the LCP and Kel Tec yawn.... Turns out it shoots great recoils less and fits small hands,oh and not that much bigger then a LCP..seems like a good choice. Here's a pic of it on top of a LCP.

I get it and agree Outdoor news is way better,I do like the yearly break down on deer take by counties etc. I guess I could just look that up.... What funny is if you go to another state ,you'll see "Ohio Fish and Game" with the same cover and stories......with a few state specific ones.

Advice on stand sites for small land parcel im hunting.
Nomad replied to dead2rights's topic in Deer Hunting
Myself with no scouting just a glance at the pic. I'd be in the creek bottom for sure and I'd be to the left of stand four catching that inside corner , I'd also be to,the right of stand 3 to catch both those hedgerows meeting the woods .Like any place it'll take time and shoe leather to know anything for sure . -
Nothing like a big buck kill flying under the radar for quite some time.
Nomad replied to phade's topic in Deer Hunting
No kidding, why would I care what he's wearing . Most of my gun hunts I'm in jeans either under cover alls or if weather is not bad just jeans, did not know I was breaking some hunting fashion rule.... Here's hunting buddy in his this year. -
Once or twice a year ? they'er retired ! My sisters son lives in Nashville, she sees him and the grand kids 5 or 6 times a year for a week,at a time ,then they come up,here a couple times a year and vacation together as well ,so what 9 ,10 weeks a year together. The best thing is to,get your kids to,leave after college, which we encouraged ours to do the RN we're hoping will move when the boyfriend gets out of med school, the CPA when her. BF finishes law school. We ll visit them often we ll,be retired ,most likely we ll move as well though. I work with a guy who already MOVED to North Carolina, works in rochester .owns house down there wife and kids there 365 , he goes down once a month for 9 days till he retires and just stays there. He's the hero of the Dept. Got his wife and kids to move 800 miles away!! As far as hunting I'll fly to Montana for a couple weeks shoot a big buck and fly back to 80 degrees .

Had to take a picture of a photo.... The right side is a crab claw that is bent over the head, and that is a tall brow tine above it,hard to see from this pic. This hunt was snow on ground but raining,I did not tighten down the platform of my Lone Wolf climber correctly and it started to collapse on me as I climbed! I got stuck could not go,up,or down. After much effort I made it down now sweating like mad calling myself names... Redid stand climbed back up,it's now light and I'm soaked in sweat . He walks in to ten yards and I shoot him with low recoil slugs ( first and last time ). He acted like nothing happened I watched him run off and stand there like nothing happened. Took a long shot aimed to high spined him. Had to drag him,my gun and stand through drifts 3 feet deep a long way, a hunt I'll never forget...

I like the Mylar ballon count! Those things are all over where I hunt,I must be under a direct flight path of ballon launchers. Your walking along and go what the heck is the blue shinny thing oh ya another ballon, and they last forever it seems.

Yep live maybe 2 miles from Loews Webster. Leather recliners ,tons of room between rows,if your going on a week end you'll need to buy advance tickets . Tonight we went the Cinema theater in the city 5 bucks ,old worn out seats no carpet, great food across the street at the Highland Dinner. Eat at Dinner leave car in their lot, walk across st. To see movie,no crowds,no lines easy access to expressway. Oh and very good looking servers at dinner...

I predict an increase in memberships and donations.
