8h been out most days,young bucks on the move. No sign of anything else,no chasing,no,grunts,no big guys for the most part. I'm tired . Ididnotvote... I've been off most of the last 2 weeks and off till nov. 20th. We seem to be in the same boat, if not woods. Keep the faith.

Been there done that,found the dead bucks minus the scull plates. Our poacher used a saw which is one reason the dec took,samples to match DNA on saws and blades. Almost caught one night during bow,but the dope bow hunter who heard the shot,knew of the poaching went over and yelled from far away.......what a moron we could had him caught. And some wonder why some bow hunters carry a handgun, or so I'm told. This dope it seems thinks he's going to do some kind of mount.... He better go far I have a feeling that pic will be in all the local taxidermy shops.

No kidding. I'm off till the 20th I hope I don't have to hunt each day.... Nothing big enough in close. Problem with my job is a ton of guys hunt and get a lot of time off,i ve lost count of the bucks shot,the pics come in daily. Tick tick tick... I'm hitting all the mornings I can to be there the day it just goes crazy.

I leave my dumb phone out on the hot tub cover over night. When I get up if it's wet it's raining,frozen its time for 2 long underwear tops ,if it on the ground to windy to hunt,back to bed.

Something bugs me about that pic. Other then I'm not in it..... Yellow tag though, guys hat says New York with something under that I can't quite read . Personally I'm a fan of disinformation ,those are things I'd fake to throw guys off. Larry ,or is that not my name ?

We do Montana River bottoms all on our own. Easy really, the ranchers get paid by the state for each guy who signs in the book at their gates. Camp out and sometimes motels near blm land. My 2 friends are going again next week,I'll be here in NY....

You could have left your clocks alone until you go back to work Monday...... Mine won't get reset till Nov 20th.

So last Monday I hung a stand in thick brush after finding a clearing in it while recovering a doe a few days before. Between hours of looking for the doe in their bedding area and hanging the stand that was a lot of noise and scent over 2 differant days. Hunted the stand yesterday, one shooter buck and 2 younger ones by 9 00.

Oh I get it.but if you don't Change them tonight it still will be the same as when you got up,today........nothing messed up but whAt time Wheel Of Fortune comes on. That said my. Clock has settings for multiple time zones some how it got pressed last night and I got up at 6 15 instead of 5 15 this AM. Still made it on stand by 7 36 or so, at 7 37 a shooter came by in thick stuff ... No shot. Oh wait for the time police to early. Time for bed , or is it ?

Not Mine! I'm off till the 20th. Always off at least 2 weeks this time of year never set clocks back till I go back to work. No need to set them back.dvr tv good to go, the deer are not setting anything back....... Think about it. East coast,mid,central ,west and Larry time !

From what I've read time and time again,shooting someone during deer season means a loss of hunting privileges for a couple years..... far fewer loose ends it would seem.

Don't often use lures or scents. Bought some Ever Calm, put it out today of the 3 bucks that came by this AM the 2 young ones used the trail I put it on. It stopped both of them,the spike turned and smelled the stick it was on then licked it! The 6 just stopped and air scented it. Crap I suppose now I ll be smearing it all over the woods......JK about that . Sample size is small but so far I like it.

I think because he shot a smaller buck earlier. My report, up an hour late yikes! Built in extra half hour in my get up,time anyway ,moved fast got on stand 7 40 . While pulling up bow a shooter is moving 20 yards to my east,to thick for any shots. He hits where I walked in stops stands there a bit does a 180 walks away. 2 young bucks came through where they are supposed to lol. I had Ever Calm on a branch,never use ,lures or scents...... Stopped both young ones,the spike licked it ! Here's his pic by it no licking pic though....

One can become a lic. Shooting preserve in NYS pretty easy, then post official looking signs. Clubs and such sometimes use more official looking signs with seals and sec. Of NYS game laws on them to discourage trespassers even more then the standard yellow box store ones. We do. We have printed up ones, with the name of our land management name printed on them as well no magic marker lol. It would help if you had the exact wording on the sign.

Just walked the dog windy as all get out,nice warm and sunny though. Glad I cut the lawn short, all the leaves are blowing past...... I never rake just cut short before windy days.

Well the fact I can't see a tag on it ,lends me to think preserve deer as well.

I'm my make believe world I could leave my wallet on my dash with the windows down and it would be there when I return. In the world I live in I know I can't . What I think Early's point is we lock our cars, close the garage door,store our guns in a safe , put a lock on our gym lockers to protect our clothes,yet we think we can strap a camera to a tree and nobody will ever take it. Do mountain bikers leave their bike leaning against a tree so they don't have to strap it to their cars and bring it back and forth? Yet we think our cameras will be there.

EDIT. I read this wrong ,I thought we were talking Sat. I ll be out Sat.AM for sure, can't wait. For reasons Phade said plus, last Monday I hung a stand in a really promising spot. A rare clearing in my 15acres of heavy brush, all tore up 20 yards in from corn field.
