Lol, driven it countless times, cross county 2xs and on and on . Our kids drove to fla yearly for spring break , just like I did in the 70s it’s nothing really . we’re going to three spots in Fla and two in Tennessee, do you propose we fly to them all ? And what about daily driving while there for two months ? Rental cars are now expensive and scarce,or so I’ve been told . Flyings great for a brief two week stay at one place , did that many many times . Plus I could never take all the needed stuff for two months ,fishing gear , beach chairs , beach clothes , cooler , boots , binoculars, and stuff for hunting land scouting ,shed hunting in Tenn. On a plane . and the wife’s bringing a 30 pack of Genny light now this summer we are fying to Alaska, although my parents drove their Suburban pulling a camper when the went .

Gus was put down, this summer , the cat last week . watches , a Hook and Gaff ( boutique brand , for ocean fishermen ), and my pricey one . knives , a Spyderco Salt series ,again for ocean water use , a Spyderco Yojimbo, a small Case single blade , a fixed blade Strider ,and a Leatherman tool . A Leatherman, electrical tape and zip ties have been very handy on trips . Ill carry one Spydie, and the Case for use in polite company, folks I mostly try to avoid anyway .

Starts at 0800 hrs . should be interesting, we use Rubbermaid totes to pack, throw shoes in the bottom ,then jeans ,shorts, T shirts, pullovers etc . I was packed in 15 minutes ,well I did spend some time picking out which pocketknives, flashlights and 9mm to bring . Mrs Nomad has two beds covered in clothes and has to try each piece on ……she’s been up,there a L-O -N-G time and still has to make the egg salad and pasta salad for the cooler . Back to the totes they fit nice on the back seat and leave plenty of room to layer on top of them ,and work as laundry baskets at the condos , we use a carry on for hotel stops . Now she says we should take an extra day to drive down ! Wtf my sister expects us Thursday afternoon , and our friends Sue and Bob are coming over as well, plus Bob wants to take me Bass fishing so cutting a day off that stop of 3 nights 2 days would leave just one day to try and fish , the dates were only set months ago …. we did get tickets for St. Louis Vs the Yankees in Tampa ! So the Villages then Cocoa Beach for a month ,then Lino Beach by Sarasota for two weeks , back to the Villages, then friends house near Knoxville , then my nephews Lake house near Nashville for as long as I want , he blindly said …. Stay tuned .

.357 is one of the hardest to find , my buddy bought one of the new Pythons, I got him a 50 round box of JHP , for like $45 and felt lucky that they had it . I’ve used 180gr, but everyone will have their own thoughts , it’s not my area . Right now I carry the old Black Talons in mine hunting , but it’s a finishing piece mostly . If i were to use it as a primary weapon , I’d see what Buffalo Bore has in .357 .

Slim Jim’s . That’s the hill I’ll die on .

This thread has the possibility of being epic ! In kinda of Seinfeld sort of way .

Thanks Don, well it seems I’ll be switching just to be safe . https://www.classaction.org/rain-x-lawsuit

I can see you using a lot . Our youngest was here last weekend , I always check , top off fluids , and I put a gallon of WWF in her backseat as well .
-
I use rain x brand , it was $4 when I bought 5 gallons of it just prior to, winter . Id guess shipping costs make up a large part of the cost , it’s a large ,heavy product that sells for little money so any change in shipping costs is going to show more on a product like that .

Im not sure when or if I’ve watched a whole game , went to our daughters, they’re “ big fans “ and watched it all . So odd, KC scores in OT and they’re all upset , I say “ hey now it’s Buffalo’s chance ,” but no apparently in OT both sides don’t get a chance wtf, might as well just go by the coin toss .

Haven’t looked at the Bill . I’m generally not a law or regulation for everything type of guy , and I’m not 100% sure here as well . It’s only been of late the fire service did much of anything about cancer , many because it took a while to figure it out . We never had our goods laundered ,and till a few years ago, we were issued only one set and they were filthy for your whole career. Now guys get two sets and send one out for cleaning after a fire ,if they choose . Most never showered after a fire, as cleaning tools came first , by then you were no longer sweaty , I’d wash my face ,dig black snot out of my nose , put on a fresh t shirt . Today you get time to shower, change and so on , they train guys on it in the academy, I never was told a thing . There’s no question these products are a large part of our cancer , bygone days these types of cancer in FF wasn’t as prevalent . Ive a photo on my wall of six of us from the early ‘90s at a busy house , 4 out of the six have had job related cancer one 2x and we buried one last summer . It weighs heavy on my mind , I’d probably be for it . As far as those manufacturers claims , today’s fires burn hotter and faster, because of synthetics , the natural fibers and wood furnishings in homes of yesterday were safer for all ! That said I’m helping my future son in law study for the next test . -

This ones a bit personal, flame retardants are killing firemen . This is an excellent video well worth your time , although I tear up . it’s unfortunate this video focuses so much on wearing a mask only, the smoke leeches into your skin, I’d smell smoke for a couple days worth of showers Also many states are looking into these products and regulations . https://www.saferstates.com/toxic-chemicals/toxic-flame-retardants/ -
Yikes ! my ‘17 or ‘18 ,I’m not 100% on the year , has 30k on it ,one reason gas prices don’t really concern me much .

The Mrs gained a fair amount of weight after she quit smoking , she did the cleanse Diet dropped some good weight ,then just stopped all the snacking and cut drinking . She did really good . Once she dropped a few ,she saw that it was possible , it went well . im a junk food junky …
-
That’s pretty good 2x50 ! I couldn’t get a proper diet going the last month so here I am , I plan on intermittent fasting when im down there . I used to do from supper say Monday to Wednesday breakfast , that every few days is really pretty easy .
-
On a cleanse diet , so a few spoons of health food junk mixed in water, and a soup made of weird vegetables and ground Elk . Five days of nothing but . I’ll drop 7-8 on it pre fla .

Nice here inside .

Ha, the farm I hunt surrounded Creekside our land is down the road a piece , they’ve been closed for like 20 years now pity , great shop and staff . I used to shoot my shotgun there mid day in bow season ,hunt ,shoot, hunt . Weekends near gun season was scary , lots of guys I wouldn’t want near me in the woods . Guys who shot there , somehow got the idea they could just hunt the area, big pain in the ass to the farm .
-
Will shed hunt in Tenn. mid to end of March, then my spot here when we return to this frozen wasteland , late March / April .
-
used to open both doors and hose Em out once a year , maybe . Mrs Nomad grew up on a farm , where working farm trucks for the most part were rear wheel drive , one bench seat , rubber mats , street tires and a bed a kid could easily climb up into . You should hear her go on about today’s trucks !
-
About as custom as I go , had these blacked out flags made by a tint shop nearby . Weather tec, and console gun safe in the pick up , plus hard tonneau

Not till the water warms up

True, that’s why the empty bottles bring $$. There’s a restaurant here that my buddy always gets a shot of Pappy with his dinner, I don’t see how that’s possible that they always have it . I’ll lean on my nephew when I’m down there, he’s had it often , runs with a crowd well above my level . Translation, I’ll beg him …. -
My brother in law bought a new one about every other year , depending on if he liked current colors available. Last year at age 70 he sold his for good, for that reason .
