I agree I fired both today . The compound is so much lighter and easier to hold steady ,the Xbow is heavy ,bulky a pain to draw and no follow up shots and loud as Hell , although they both did group the same . I,prefer the compound as long as my shoulder allows . Offhand with the xbow is actually a worse group for me , I need to brace elbow to knee, aka bone on bone . Neither is particularly hard to kill deer with .

Hard assets are where it’s at . I was thinking of selling our farm land , not anymore , still buying ammo , and PM as well . Oh not selling our stocks and bonds ,just buying “ things .” I like having things , and not just numbers on a computer. Of course I’ve rented two storage areas and a safe deposit box ,as I want to keep my things ….

Didn’t watch the whole game, but I shut off the alarm at 5AM . It’s going to be 80, and nothing at my spot is moving much , no thanks . Maybe next week end .

The interesting point touched on in the letter is the reference to travel nurses . Right now Strong hospital and others here pay travel nurses 3-4x the amount they pay their own , so nurses quit Strong to become travel nurses ,I heard they lost 20 from the E.D. In one day awhile back . So Rochester uses “ travel nurses “ from Buffalo , and Buffalo uses them from Rochester ….. that’s one sweet scam ! In an effort to keep a lid on it Strong Is doing “ in house travel “ they pay their own nurses $80 and hour to “ travel “ to floors that are short staffed .

Boring …. Can’t wait to be home grilling Zweigels hotdogs, drinking that new Genny and watching the Chiefs .

Awesome they turned over the field I use to get to this stand , long walk in couple hour drag out , no doe will be shot here ! havent been to this stand in a year , knew I’d never find it in the dark . Opened up trail across the creek and to stand with machete. This spot needs a lot of trimming perhaps in a week after a morning hunt in a different stand . littke hope for tonight

Just got home with a 12 pack of that new Genny ….. Ill wait till after this afternoons “ hunt “.

I believe Erie county opted out of the youth hunt .

Just came across this letter online , so,I checked other makers of backpacking , camping , long term “ survival food .” Mountain House, which many consider the gold standard of these foods is sold out of many products . The one I buy from mostly , My Patriot supply seems well stocked ,but nothing is on sale , they always haditems on sale , their one week ammo can has stayed right at $89 , I’ve bought it for as little as $49 . Now us crazy prepper dudes already have a good supply , could be some are getting more, but it’s likely folks new to it buying now while they can anyways . I predict a chain reaction , one major producer is shut down putting even more demand on the remaining on top of increased buying .

I’m thinking of buying truck tires now for next summer , the trailer tires I had on order , due to arrive 9/25 are pushed out to 1/26 .

This summer I’ve bought 7mm, 7mm08, 6.5, .308 for between $25-$35 a box , online prices seem to,run the same if one shops around .

Those ribs are from The Highbanks bar/ restaurant right on main st Mt Morris , $16 with a salad too . Glen Iris was our first time , normally I’m cooking over the campfire .

Went to town one night and the Glen Iris Inn another while camping Letchworth.

Just home from camping in Letchworth, lots of deer walking around . Head to Old Forge Wed. I may hunt once or twice in between,I’ve got spots I haven’t opened up the trail or tightened straps should do that I guess .

All I know is anything we think we may need down the road we’re buying now . When we head to Fla. Our heat will be set at 50 , and we’ll bring guns ammo, cash, food, my jet boil ,everything we may need to live on. Worst that happens is we get real tan eat a lot of sea food and bring it all back home . Oh along with more ammo, magazines and …..

Hunting here doesn’t start till Oct 19th. deer all over the park , but I’d hunt under this double rainbow .
