    I was one of the "lucky" ones that has printing on both side of the perforated lines, if i use a tag ill have to cut it off with scissors.

    I have seen guys put a square of toilet paper on a blood drop as they find them, it helps give a visual of the direction of travel .

    The buck to doe ratio is way out of whack, going by trail cams and time in the woods , I would estimate one buck for 6-8 doe, obviously I did not do any official monitoring, they haven't issued doe tags for that area in probably the last 5 years at least.

    I'm gonna forward a link to this topic to all the deer where we hunt so they know. We never see any increased activity during the rut,it actually get less some years.

    I heard stories from my dad about when him and my uncle were younger, they would come back to camp from being in town drinking and my dad would put on his hunting clothes , grab his bow and sleep at the base of his tree so when he woke up he could just climb up and hunt, I always thought that was hardcore.

    I just started using climbing sticks this year, I bought the 20 footer from dicks for 59 dollars. I ditched the quick pins and used security bolts, I cable locked the stand to the ladder . I feel like this is gonna be my forever set up.

    I read an article where the author stated that camp fire smoke is not a smell that deer associated with danger and he actually had a handheld smoker that he smoked his hunting clothes as a cover up scent.

    Something about the woods that adds 50 decibels to everything , the first time i tried to eat a powerbar in my stand i went hungry because it was so friggin loud , now i put them sandwhich bags before i hit the woods.

    I've made them before , some get action and some don't, I usually just take a leak on them myself, I have noticed what appears to be a more aggressive clean out on the ones I go on as opposed to the ones I pour a bottle on.

    I almost clubbed one to death a few years ago with my bow , we had a nasty one that would run out of the same spot everytime we walked up the hill , reminded me of those videos of the canadian geese attacking people. I don't think bludgeoning one is in the rule book .

    My buddy and I watched some lazy POS dragging a deer behind his 4 wheeler going down 98 through java one day , he had to be going at least 30. The 4 wheeler had front and rear racks on it too, but I guess a little road rash never hurts.

    They're called zip lock bags , the work great for putting the heart and anything else you want to take home with you.

    The majority of my stupidity was when i was younger and Invincible ,i used to hang on to trees with one leg on a screw in step and the other wrapped around the tree so i could have both hands free to hoist the stand up and install it , always put myself in sketchy situations just to get a stand hung.

    Ive had my phone start ringing (forgot to turn the volume down) and a spike 20 yards away never even looked to see what the noise was.

    I never shot a doe with a fawn , I have heard from people who have that said it's horrible when the fawn stands next to momma wailing away and won't leave.

    Bring it! I'm ready for snow by the foot! The farmer used to tell me the squirrels tails was an indication on bad the winter would be.

    At the end of the article is a write up on the author, he is from florida and moved to kentcuky where he took up archery hunting. For some reason the powers at be let this yahoo write a story on something he clearly knows nothing about .

    I can tell you that my cva will not shoot corelokt and my buddies savage axis loves them , i get my ammo from dicks because it is 5 dollars a box cheaper then anywhere else.

    winchester 168g ,ill never use anything else ever again. My rifle loves them.
