  1. Yes but hoping that's exit. That's decent looking and he was in stand.
  2. Arrow looks good, I'm thinking you caught some vital or partial. Stay patient, follow protocol. You may have pushed him only waiting an hour. Get permission and get deer search. If no deer search available, get friends and family.
  3. Sounds like like next two weeks should be incredible! Weather looks promising too...
  4. I'll be at camp from Nov. 2nd-12th. I've only hunted camp 2 days this year and that was nearly a month ago. I have 3 cameras setup since then and haven't been back down. I'm very excited and interested to hunt and see what shows up on the camerss. Fortunately I got out 1 day behind my house and I took a doe after a 40 minute sit. It's the only thing preventing me from acting like a little baby.
  5. Bad A$$ looking broadheads. I too, love the fixed. Let's us know how much blood they disperse Saturday.
  6. Absolutely perfect time to use estrous scents. I'm a big fan. I've shot 2 buck using them, they literally followed my scent line in from 75 yards. One was shot at 17 yards and the other 10. They work, I did spook a few doe and a mature buck one time though. The guy in my avatar pic was the one shot at at 17.
  7. I don't know the rule and do not pretend to. IMHO, it is not "right" or ethical to bring both weapons in at the same time. However, if there is no rule or law it would in fact be lawful. My guess is, if there indeed isn't a law, there will be very soon. Just agree to disagree, shake hands and let the rut begin!
  8. I agree, I do it often. You can never practice enough, especially when it's happening on the real thing. I don't know how you could pre-release the arrow, finger does not touch the trigger.
  9. The tick explosion is due to warmer climates, acorns and mice. Mice are what cause the ticks to explode in population. The more acorns, the more the mice survive and the ticks benefit from it. My house in Niagara County, in the country, has lots of oaks and walnut trees, it leads to a lot of ticks. My property in southertier is comprised of mostly white pine, I don't see a lot of ticks. They're there but not taking over. I would bet that most of the cases when there are tons of ticks it is in high acorn/mice area. Thoughts?
  10. Here we go, it's late but that just means I'm hungrier. Apple wood bacon smoked backstrap over some moderate apple smoke. Cooked to internal temp of 135.
  11. Amazing what they'll do to avoid capture or revealing themselves. Keep up the great work. I really think I can use some of these stories as lessons when tracking in the future.
  12. I'm salivating in the parking lot, waiting for my kids to finish up their sport activities. As soon as I get home, venison backstrap wrapped with Apple wood bacon and smoked with some apple wood in the smoker. More to follow...
  13. Lol, Rob I respectfully disagree, the more beans the better. The more varieties, well, that's even that much better. Great looking Chili either way.
  14. I also check freezer daily, either to get meat or admire a recently harvested deer!
  15. Boy oh boy, I swear, it seems we (country) gets dumber with age. How and what does this law accomplish? We cannot stupid proof everything.
  16. Great deer, healthy body too! Way to get it done!
  17. You both deserve an easy track, way to go Luna!
  18. Beautiful Deer! Get him tonight...
