  1. On eBay I found a 6 pack of Fox40 Micro Marine whistles for $24.95 plus $5.00 shipping. Ends up at $5/each..........not really a bad idea for a key chain rape whistle for family & friends. Merry Christmas..............
  2. Remember last night when we were talking about crazy laws?
  3. Lets move this...........$75 local with a BRAND NEW battery.
  4. Don't sweat it......it can take years to figure out a piece of land. Unlike a woman that you'll never figure out. Where the hell did that come from? I didn't even type it.........
  5. I've always said in hunting......."You go from zero to hero in 10 seconds". Things can look so bleak for days or weeks of hunting in great locales and you get zip. Then bingo, here he comes!! I'd just shake my head and think, I just can't believe what happened! Here's one deer that comes to mind: Although it was only the second day of gun season, I had NO hope. I was sitting in a lousy spot at my uncles place since dawn. I had a busy week coming up for work, I missed my family, I'd been down bowhunting for a couple days prior to the gun opener and just wanted to head back home. My wife called at 8:50am and while we were talking I turned head to my right and spotted this buck sneaking up the hill about 100 yards away. I said "holy cow, I gotta go!" Bang flop..... Talk about turning things around! Go get 'em Samantha.
  6. What about the shipping ????? Sorry to hear about the drama. I know it can happen and fortunately my eBay/Gunbroker/here/Campfire selling experiences have been 99.9% perfect. Scary at times but they've all worked out.............
  7. Well done! Hopefully he saved the good pics for himself...........
  8. Ahhh, maybe not. Sunrise is about (in Pike anyway) 7:16am. If you were sitting by 6:45 you'd be GTG. OHHHHHHHHH, I can't wait to see pics tomorrow!!!!
  9. Matt.......I'd love to have a nice doe do that for me. Musta' been the pine needles made for good sneakin'...... Oh crap, you weren't in the pines.
  10. Gotta be in it to win it. I remember a story about you an phade.........something about going to lunch and the big boy cruised through while you were out?????? A screw in umbrella makes it even more hospitable. (yea, I use that too!)
  11. Yes, not cheap but really comfortable and grips the tree like a SOB. Another huge deal is you don't need no stinkin' stirrups like the Summit. I've spent as much as 11 hours in it during an opening day and only came down once for call of nature break. I bought a couple Summit saddle bags for it and used an old Summit front bag for the front bar. I carry a back pack for all day sits and lower it to the ground with a haul rope if I need extra clothing. I also have a cup holder for my hot cocoa or soup when on this long sits. When bow hunting, the cup holder isn't on board. A Real Tree Bow/Gun holder, folding saw and safety line reside in the front bag all the time.
  12. Seems to be working real good again for me. Thanks fellas!
  13. Where in Central Florida are you? My FIL just went back down to Kissimmee as he's a resident but spends the summer up north. 88 years old and getting frail.....he has a couple in the neighborhood that will be taking him to their house to ride out the storm. My wife talked to him yesterday morning and he is pretty nervous about it, understandably. Here's a little from the NWS. Pretty ominous stuff........... DANGEROUS HURRICANE MATTHEW MOVING NORTHWESTWARD OVER THE CENTRAL BAHAMAS, IS FORECAST TO MOVE VERY NEAR OR OVER THE EAST CENTRAL COAST OF FLORIDA TONIGHT AND INTO FRIDAY. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, LIFE-THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE FORECAST IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS. THE CENTER OF HURRICANE MATTHEW CONTAINING THE STRONGEST WIND GUSTS, STORM SURGE AND HEAVY RAIN SQUALLS WILL MOVE ALONG OR OVER PORTIONS OF THE EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA COASTLINE VERY EARLY FRIDAY MORNING AND INTO THE AFTERNOON. WIDESPREAD EXTENSIVE TO DEVASTATING WIND IMPACTS WILL BE FELT. AIRBORNE DEBRIS LOFTED BY EXTREME WINDS WILL BE CAPABLE OF BREACHING STRUCTURES, UNPROTECTED WINDOWS AND VEHICLES. EFFECTS SUCH AS THESE RANGING FROM THE COAST TO WELL INLAND HAVE NOT BEEN EXPERIENCED IN CENTRAL FLORIDA IN DECADES. LOCAL WINDS WILL EXCEED WHAT OCCURRED DURING THE HURRICANES OF 2004. ANY EVACUATIONS AND STRUCTURE PREPARATION SHOULD BE COMPLETED THIS AFTERNOON. TRAVEL WILL BE STRONGLY DISCOURAGED BEGINNING AT DUSK. EXPECT WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES. INLAND FROM THE COASTLINE, THE THREAT IS HIGH FOR SUSTAINED HURRICANE FORCE WINDS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME FRIDAY MORNING WITH A HIGH THREAT FOR STRONG TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS FARTHER INLAND OVER LAKE COUNTY. WITH AN EXPECTED TRACK CLOSE TO THE COASTLINE, THE POTENTIAL FOR LIFE THREATENING STORM SURGE FLOODING IS HIGH. STORM SURGE FLOODING OF 5 TO 7 FEET IS EXPECTED ALONG THE BARRIER ISLANDS OF VOLUSIA AND BREVARD COUNTIES, WITH 3 TO 5 FEET OF INUNDATION EXPECTED OVER MARTIN AND SAINT LUCIE COUNTY BARRIER ISLANDS. LARGE BREAKING WAVES ALONG BEACHES WILL PEAK BETWEEN 12 TO 18 FEET AND PRODUCE ROUGH, POUNDING SURF RESULTING IN A SIGNIFICANT HAZARD OF COASTAL FLOODING FROM DUNE BREACHING, ALONG WITH VERY SEVERE BEACH SCOURING AND SAND DUNE EROSION. COASTAL FLOODING WILL BE AGGRAVATED BY HIGH TIDE ESPECIALLY IN VOLUSIA COUNTY. SIGNIFICANT DOWNWIND PILING AND SURGING OF WATER WILL OCCUR WITHIN THE INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY, LAGOONS, AND INLETS. THE CLOSE APPROACH OF MATTHEW`S EYE TO THE EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA COAST MEANS PROPERTIES FACING EAST AND WEST ALONG THE INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY WILL BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO WIND DRIVEN PILING OF WATER. ADDITIONALLY, WIND DRIVEN PILING OF WATER WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG THE BANKS OF THE SAINT JOHNS RIVER IN LAKE AND VOLUSIA COUNTIES. HEAVY RAIN, ESPECIALLY IN SQUALLS, WILL INCREASE IN COVERAGE AND FREQUENCY ACROSS EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY. WIDESPREAD RAINFALL TOTALS OF 5 TO 8 INCHES ARE EXPECTED WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS, ESPECIALLY ALONG THE COAST. SATURATED SOILS IN MANY AREAS FROM HEAVY SEPTEMBER AND EARLY OCTOBER RAINFALL WILL HOLD VERY LITTLE ADDITIONAL WATER BEFORE WATER QUICKLY BEGINS TO POND, ESPECIALLY IN LOW LYING AND URBAN AREAS. STANDING WATER WILL BE CAPABLE OF QUICKLY RISING, ESPECIALLY IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS, AND COULD ENTER HOMES AND BUSINESSES DURING MATTHEW`S PASSAGE. RESIDENTS AND VISITORS TO EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO MONITOR THE LATEST TRACK AND INTENSITY FORECASTS FROM THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER. TAKE ACTIONS TO ENSURE YOUR READINESS PLANS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.
  14. Great.......They're so loud you will not believe it. I'm going to look into grabbing some more for family. They would be a nice addition to a key chain.
  15. Get the plate number from the 'wheeler? Also sounds like a trail cam or two on the driveway wouldn't hurt..........
  16. Yea, I'll subscribe to this one.
  17. I just checked your profile.....Wayne County huh? If you get over towards Buffalo holler. If not, I hunt Lima and Canadice quite a bit and we could hook up sometime for a looky lou.
  18. Are you in Western New York?
  19. I used to sharpen my Rothhaar Snuffers and Wensel Woodsmans on a mill bastard file, snugged up in a vice. I had an old busted aluminum shaft that I glued an insert into and I'd screw the head into the short shaft and run it down the file. I had a vice (most do) that swiveled and I'd turn it so the front of the file was pointing at me. It might take quite a bit to get things worked to the proper angle. To arrive at THAT angle, grab a Sharpie and blacken the edges of the broadhead and run it one direction (away from you of course) a bunch of times until all the black is gone. Keep rotating the shaft on the file, you don't need to get each edge in a single run. I truly enjoyed that part of traditional archery and miss it a bit. Have fun!
  20. Is that the blue stick? If so that's what I use......
