What the heck is that for?

My new fishing magnet. Caught my first fish out of it last night, 2 Sheep-head and a Gobbie. (one freakie looking POS THAT is!) I had it out in the canal a few times just getting familiar with it before venturing out to Lake Erie last night. Here are some pics from the canal dock... So last night was kind of a cluster ________. I got some bait and launched the boat at the small boat harbor and all went great. Launching/retrieving solo can be a biotch but it went well. I get out side of the breakwall and I'm fishing for about an hour and I go to itch my eye and use the back of my thumb nail and bump my contact lens out, or so I thought. It turns out that the lens got folded in half and jammed under my eye lid somewhere. That certainly made for an interesting outing....... I ended up fishing for a couple hours like that (you can drink beer blind if you have to) and caught the fish OK. I almost got ran over by the MoonDance catamaran. Some chick says HEY, I WANNA GO FISHING! I said HEY, JUMP IN AND SWIM OVER! She didn't.......... Also last night, the City of Buffalo had a helicopter out filming and collecting images for an upcoming promotional campaign on tourism and that sumbitch was hovering mere feet off the water and CLOSE to me. I got some cool footage with my phone. At the time, I didn't know what they were doing out there and I thought they were looking for Jimmy Hoffa or something........It was an all black chopper and looked pretty cool........ I got the boat int the docks with one good blinker and one bad one. Tied her up, got the truck and loaded the boat on the trailer. By now my eye is starting to hurt pretty bad and I look in my side view mirror and I could see the folded up contact lens. I yanked it out, dropped it in the gravel (DOHH!) then rinsed it of and stuck it back in. It worked good enough for the ride home and saved me a trip to the ER room for some Dr to do some fishing in my eye socket!! All in all, I still had a good time.

I have friends in that area. One lives in Louisville and the other in Westminster. Ever been to the Salty Dog Bar? My buddy runs the joint. I have hunted a bunch of places in Colorado over the years from the south east corner once to the west side of the state a bunch. Great place to visit but I'm a Homer.......! I like things (hunting, fishing, family) here in NYS to much to ever leave for more than a couple weeks at a time. I even have a connection to Medina! I had a contract for some maintenance at Medina Memorial Hospital from 1988-1997 and got to know a bunch of people up there. I trained my first Lab on Bill Keppler's Forrestal Farms ducks & pheasants back in 1987 & 1988. My FIL has a place in Waterport that we visit often in the summer. Ever been to that cool cemetery in Albion? (I think that is where it is) It has that real cool tower you can climb and see for MILES! (I didn't have the onions to climb to the top though) Oh well, welcome and enjoy.

We gotta get you wired for pics............ Good luck in the morning, I'm hoping to go out tomorrow afternoon on Lake Erie. I went out yesterday afternoon on the canal again and fished. No fish for me....... I'm making lists of things I need. (Leatherman, pad & paper, reading glasses, piss bucket, more beer)

It's no damn wonder the government is so damned FUBAR if it takes this much to get something so mundane as a bill like this past. It must be chaos when they have to something really big like naming. a park or highway...... Regardless, thanks for the update Doc.

Those boats do look like a good time. My FIL should have bought one of them 15 years ago and really enjoyed himself. Looks like a fair price on this one. Good luck with sale.

My uncle left a Baker Climber up in a tree 20 years ago. He'd climb up a ladder and then step onto the stand and hunt. The ladder was pulled and the stand is still up there but is all messed up and at an odd angle you wouldn't believe.

I've seen more turtle pancakes on the local roads this year than I've ever. All over the place and even one big snapper amongst the carnage....... Too bad for them and nice pics wooly.
