geez, just read the last 2 pages. I certainly can get on people's nerves. This I know, but it's mostly due to differing opinions on hunting. Shawn just seems to be a genuine troll pissing people off for things not even related to hunting. wtf dude?

i checked last night. with my carbon arrows you can barely here much noise with the arrow nocked. i would agree they're noisier, but nothing i would be worried about. listen. it's been well documented you can kill a deer with a homemade recurve. The advances in technology are 2 part. They decrease the variables that could negatively affect your shot and they provide more confidence for most hunters. if we took the average bowhunter and did a study on accuracy using a wb vs finger rest i'm sure the proof would be in the pudding. People should use what they like and other hunters shouldn't try to get them to change. There's a great article about this in the "best new gear for 2013" issue of D&DH last month. I used to shoot beamen ICS with the longer vanes. I was never concerned about the wb affecting my flight, but a few years in i did notice the fletchings begin to warp. Is it cheap and easy to replace them? sure. But when i upgraded arrows, i figured i'd do the drop as well and couldn't be happier.

i agree with doc. a shop will not charge to measure you.

i hunted for 6 years with a wb. occasionally i'd look down and my arrow would be pressed into the whiskers. it was a very simple flick of the arrow to get it to pop back out, but i was simply commenting on the stability of what i use and what i have used based on your comment. Plenty of drops do not use the containment abilities that the trophy ridge offers so there are some valid points to be made against the others. I would agree that the drops need to be tuned and can add another element of failure and your mindset of keeping it simple is just fine. there are pros and cons to both. I did not mean to come off as a drop cheerleader, just trying to point out pros and cons based on my personal experience and let the members make their own purchasing calls. in fact i didn't even read any of the thread.

i'll have to check tonight, but i dont recall it being a tingy metallic sounding rest.

The only people really qualified to comment on which is better the drop or the wb is those who have used both. My drop away has better containment then my WB did. The arrow can get lodged in the biscuit. there's little to no way anything happens with a fall away. The only benefit to the biscuit is that it can be a little quieter but it's not a game changer. here's what i use. same company that makes the biscuit btw http://www.cabelas.com/product/Hunting/Archery/Arrow-Rests|/pc/104791680/c/104693580/sc/104191380/Trophy-Ridge-Micro-Revolution-Arrow-Rest/1214045.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Farrow-rests%2F_%2FN-1100037%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104191380%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104791680%253Bcat104693580&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104791680%3Bcat104693580%3Bcat104191380 not my video

what the best bow pro shop in your county of NY

traditions in monroe and guerin-teed archery in wayne have both got my business and both been easy to deal with. -
regarding bow tag sales?

dicks will have occasional sales. I bought my plano a few years ago for like $30. If you're not taking it on a plane they will do. Just dont leave broadheads on your arrows. I somehow nicked my string and had it snap while drawing on a nice 8. yes i know. almost in tears.

last year i switched from my trusty well functioning biscuit to a drop away and couldn't be happier. less fletching damage and overal easier operation. I don't think you can really go wrong with either, just as long as your drop/fall away rest is tuned properly.

if you already have a bird gun, look for a rifled barrel slug gun. I think the 535 has that option but cannot remember. I own an 835 with 2 bird barrels. I bought the 835 because I believe it wasn't that much more and had a few nicer features, most notably it's basically a 10 gauge and doesn't kick nearly as bad as the notoriously hard kicking 535. Either way, get a limbsaver recoil pad if you're shooting anything 3 or over.

thanks for the breaking news we didn't already know. Sounds like you made an ill researched purchase. enjoy your paper weight. how many times have I heard that? because bowhunter license numbers have been steadily rising? And a plan to reduce the cost of licenses? yes, cutting their own throat indeed...

buddy from college is all about it. he's also into Scientology and all sorts of that odd ball stuff.

upright rows. sitting cable pulls. lat pull down, dumbell rows (kneeling on bench pulling dubmbell up to bench from ground)

some of the demonstrations i've seen on these are awesome.

for such a large group of anti-gun nuts, the least they could have done was lock them all.

not sure what you're driving, but it definitely depends on the make and model. my silverado's rotors were $60 i think, same for rav4. The G8's were over a $100, but they were slotted. The non slotted were almost as much though. exactly. where shawn figured it was easier than rotors is beyond me. Most people cant do an alignment in their garage. rotors however if they're not rusted on are one of the easier jobs, and for the $30 pads cost you might as well do them while you're in it. In addition you "can" turn rotors and save some money there. yes, nyc isn't the most expensive place to live or anything... ps. glad to see you're still making friends.

sounds like your price is off on your fridge. i got a 33cuft side by side whirlpool gold with water and ice and digital readout for under a grand. sears will usually give you a year interest free or 15% off sticker to lesson the hurt too. did you go mom and pop? for a top mount standard fridge you should be under $900. $500 for ball joints, rotors and labor doesn't seem to far off. Rotors are easy to do yourself though.

i use my crossbow so i don't have to draw... 70

similar to grunts and bleets i've had it work and had it backfire.

they interviewed duffner on mike an mike the other day. He said the yelling after the shot doens't bother him and so far nobody has yelled while they're swinging. I think if anything it's becoming a trend that has increased and certainly did not start in Rochester. It has made it annoying to watch on tv as golf and baseball are usually my "read a magazine or drift off into a nap on sunday" kind of sporting events to watch.

So how far are you guys on your "Honey Do List"?
Five Seasons replied to Deerthug's topic in General Chit Chat
part of my problem is my toys and yard stuff. I have a few vehicles and stuff to winterize and a few things to take out for the winter. I'm anal about cleaning and lubing, chainging oil and stabalizing all my stuff. Problem is, the time is usually somewhere in October when I'd rather be in the woods. -
cool. i was thinking it was maybe rush or the west side. I'm up in Ontario. Not to far north of you.
