Taylor and Vadney in Rotterdam is good, there's also a place in Castleton called Guns Inc. I haven't been there but it seems well stocked in photos. I prefer American Trade Goods for gun deals and they will order any ammo you want, I'm sure most places would do that if you asked. Unfortunately that would be near Latham so I'm betting that's out of your search area.

Here's one from Ballston Lake from '14. My wife got it on her pink jig stick while fishing for pan fish, what surprise she got. I used to fish Saratoga a bunch as a kid but that was when I had relatives that had lake rights.

I have twice as many as you! lol I forget that I own them, is that bad? I did have one out by the Duck house for one night, got a vid of the rotten coon that showed up. I should put my cams out today before I forget.

Doesn't look like it went anywhere to me. Maybe we will see a full update soon. No surprise that some of the same names held it up like the Moose bill. At least they will say they had their names on it.

NY Moose Hunting Bill

I was thinking that perhaps a bill like this gets sponsored late in the session just to look good for the few involved. Nah couldn't be. lol -
NY Moose Hunting Bill
Doewhacker replied to BKhunter's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
It only classifies Moose as Big Game and gives the DEC power to decide what's best to do. Plus it has to go through the Assembly. http://assembly.state.ny.us/leg/?default_fld=&leg_video=&bn=S00093&term=2015&Summary=Y&Text=Y I can't fathom the money that would be raised by issuing a lottery for a tag or 3, who wouldn't want to be the first NY'er to kill a Moose. -

It doesn't guarantee a season, it only gives the DEC the power to decide if ever they want a season. -
Pick any bow you like as long as its a Hoyt. JK Try some and see what you like. Its hard to go wrong with a top brand bow, I love my Hoyt Nitrum.

Any embarrassing photos of yourself ?

Why are there two holes in the pink panthers pants? -
Factually speaking Pit bull's have a poor breeding history because so many people breed them for the wrong reasons. Look at any shelter and you will see many available, there is a reason for that. When a breed gets popular and breeding goes crazy, lines get ruined and bad traits come out.

Caliper? Did they kill the Gorilla with brake parts?

I thought it was a cat for a second.

I had it on the front, now its all covered in plywood. I had them set up in the old pigeon coop that wasn't built to keep much out.
-
They really are jerks! They like to rip the heads off their prey and leave.

Ah I'm in their house so it's bound to happen, I had a fox run through the other weekend when WNY was out turkey hunting. We have fisher too and I suspect that's what chewed in last night.

Mowing is a pain in the rear and so is weed whacking. But I don't consider it a project, more of a chore with 6 acres I could mow every day for an hour almost. I spent last weekend builiding a 8x10 chicken shed and a 10x15 chicken tractor for my meat birds. This time of year I am super busy with projects, there is always firewood, lawn stuff, chicken stuff ect ect. I'm never done!

Tuesday morning I awoke and peered out the window at our duck pen and noticed we were missing a couple. This got my suspicions up as we had lost a duck Saturday night already. I knew something got them and when I went out with my dogs to investigate I found out what was enjoying a Duck dinner on me. It was a Great Hornded Owl!!! I removed the netting over the ducks and tried to scare the owl out. It wasn't sure what to do to get out and eventually I ended up removing all of the net. I thought about grabbing it for a brief second and quickly decided that wasn't a great idea at 530am with no coffee so I kept at it and eventually got it to hop out. It sat there hissing and clapping its beak at me. It finally flew a little and I knew it was ok so I left it alone. It took off at some point and left. What an ordeal! Never a dull moment for us between our hobby poultry farm and all the critters there is always something going on. I'd prefer if they didn't eat my dinner before I can but if they want to bad enough it can be hard to stop them. Last night something chewed it's way into the duck house and took out my favorite duck so now I have to go home build them a fortress that nothing can get into. What a handsome devil.

I knew two handsome guys that missed last week after working the birds for over two hours, they left the field feeling deflated. Well the one guy pulled his shot after the first guy missed because he felt bad. They were half a heartbeat away from taking some pigeons afterwards, but the anger subsided. Funny thing was the one guy remembered he had a rangefinder after Turkeyfeathers mentioned it might be a good idea in a PM. I guess he should have used it, at least the two hunters still have their good looks.
-
I have had this happen this year, the birds I worked would roost anywhere in a 200 yard circle. Most likely they will be very cautious but will return to the area. If it were me I would try to set up where they work off too but not to close to the roost because of what happened today.

I lied, I feel like I have to kill that gobbler on behalf of WNY. Every day I see him strutting I want him dead more. lol

"Third we have been very laxed, perhaps to much in the moderation of posts and enforcement of our rules. The downside is a few members have chosen to exploit these opportunities to post curses, attacks and other completely useless content that doesn't belong here. There will be no warnings other then this one. Keep it clean, do not attack other members, do not curse (family site). I and all the amazing folks that help maintain and participate in this community have no time to baby sit. We will no longer issue warnings for something you should already know. You break the rules you are not welcome here. See: http://huntingny.com/rules" I see a couple of attacks in this thread, swear words and name calling.

WNYBuckHunter's Outdoor Journal
Doewhacker replied to WNYBuckHunter's topic in Member Hunting Journals
That hunt was probably the best I have had as far seeing things that turkeys do. The only thing it was missing was dead birds at the end. They were all right back there this morning by the way. Can't wait till next year! -
What forum member is it? Lol. JK
