  1. CBE are good quality sights. I know people that use them and they're built well enough. Tek Hybrid Dove tail would do everything you need without going to the competition line. especially if you're just hunting and doing some 3D. I haven't shot them though really just know others who have and have checked them out in the shop. I shoot Axcel sights and am hard pressed to give them up; horror story where the sight pulled through, awesome customer service, and good God fearing people. Will be trying an HHA but only because Axcel doesn't make a single pin hunting type of sight like that.
  2. I think you'd be hard pressed to find something better than a 243. ammo for some of the other calibers mentioned is expensive and harder to find too. get her practicing with a 22LR or something. reduced recoil ammo is great too. reduced recoil 30-06 recoils like a 30-30 and hits hard being a 170 gr bullet. not all rifles are created equal though 30-30 kick from a lever gun isn't near as soft as it would be from one of my bolt guns with a real nice recoil pad.
  3. his father was the same and we banded together and gave him the boot. we've got to do the same for him and his followers, regardless of party affiliation.
  4. LE groups who not be happy with this idea before they even drove to a location for the warrant. you know how much man power this effort would take? i think many will say show me the money first. then what if your an officer who issues warrant and find a converted AR15? do you take it and risk a lawsuit you will not win or do you leave it and get the third degree back at the station? this would be a nightmare to deal with for a day let alone carry it out for years to completion. I was going to buy an assault weapon (AR15) but never did. haven't purchased anything else that qualifies either by sheer coincidence. if they show up at my door i'll tell them to go pound salt. they won't have a warrant because they have no proof I ever had a weapon classified as an assault weapon either.
  5. and dean skelos who runs the senate is a republican benedict Arnold. ....he's just as much to blame as Cuomo.
  6. that's a good bow by the way. the two bows that setting up from scratch for 3d and hunting are a 2011 PSE Evo and a 2013 PSE Bowmadness 3G (one I just got).
  7. picked up a new leftover 2013 bow. swapping out accessories and buying new ones too. i'll have bows setup for specific things; one for hunting, one for outdoor 3D, and one for indoor spots.
  8. TBone has a good video there... I've watched it. it's important to realize even when it subsides it'll never be gone. it's important to change the mind set and not work on just muscle memory. take baby steps to work up to shooting again. spend more time suppressing it than actually shooting for a while. start with a blank sheet of paper with no marks. draw back, come to anchor, touch your finger to the trigger, then hold. once your peep, anchor, or sight gets out of alignment or you get shaky let down. don't fire the release at all. do that for a while, then do the same but apply just enough pressure on the trigger so that the release doesn't quite fire. don't fire. do that even longer. then once you feel comfortable do that same thing but fire at the blank sheet. just focus on form and all the rest. tell yourself to pull through and keep squeezing. focus on keeping the pin still with slow tightening circles until the release fires and focus on keeping the pin still from jumping the best you can. do this for a while. it's important to work up slowly. as soon as you "cheat", the bow goes off, or you get jumpy go back and work from the beginning. this will train you mentally to except the shot process and roll along with it for as long as it takes until the release goes off. once comfortable start with a big target to aim at then slowly work down to a small target. once at that point remember everything and go through the shot process. tell yourself to squeeze or pull while you keep aiming. it's important to go back and do this to keep it at bay otherwise it'll flare back up again. this worked for me and actually improved my shooting.
  9. good recommendation. best glove I've shot with so far. you can shoot off the first joint from the finger tips. don't know of anyone that shoots very well with a deeper "hook" than that. you can order one straight from 3Rivers
  10. http://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/VoteUp/2014/02/12/cuomo-i-was-not-saying-anyone-should-leave-the-state/5422379/ Cuomo says he didn't mean we don't belong in NYS. BS! He's a prick and we called him out on what he said.

    New Peep

I've got 1/4" peeps on all my bows, competition or hunting, with the exception of my indoor spots bow; G5 meta peeps and one Bone Collector Versa peep. I've drilled X's on outdoor 3D targets in low light while others right next to me with smaller peeps couldn't even make out the target. same goes for hunting at those prime hours of first and last light. my sight housings are bigger and setup to perfectly fit into the peep. so no drop in aiming precision compared to a smaller peep and I have a bigger window to put game in at the time of the shot.
  12. too much like a slingshot with a wrist support... therefore the NY SAFE Act deems it an assault weapon. not kidding either. read it.
  13. I think he could be a good governor if his character wasn't horrible. he has the skills and drive to get things done. however, things getting done almost always benefit him. due to the SAFE Act I've kept up the dirt on him and very shady stuff happening. I otherwise wouldn't have known about it and I've yet to see any of it in the main stream media outside of pro-gun affiliations and sometimes not even from them. I don't have time to type everything here nor do I want to. that said I've gotten first hand information about shady things from everywhere and anything. one example being when tons of people in NYS Thruway were being laid off, his affiliates were being hired and put in newly created bogus management positions. a lady that's responsible for communications within the thruway had a box full of blackberry phones with the King Cuomo's affiliates names on them before they were even hired and at a ridiculous salary at that. mean while the hard working men and women of the thruway, regardless of years vested, got the axle and have their families now struggling to get by. then you've got his involvement with Ralph Wilson stadium and his "I love NY" box suite. they could only go through with renovations if he got it. it's supposed to be for hosting out of state businessmen to get them to come to NY, well that's BS. it's permantly reserved, available to his office, and we as tax payers paid for it. why not schedule it for use when you need it like everything else, saving us tax payers money and allowing the owner to get more revenue by having others temporary buy seats per game. the casino thing is another. various communities throughout NY state are economically at rock bottom, hoping that one of the casinos actually goes in and promotes business, lessens tax burden, and creates jobs. yet, so many are going in down-state where his real roots and interest is. he praised HIS ethics group saying they were free of restraint to investigate whomever, to finally put an end to political corruption in NYS. then when the committee started investigating his own office they bulked at the idea. the committees hands were slapped and now anything that was, was swept under the rug and you here nothing from them publicized. another thing many don't know or care about is the governor's job to grant pardons to those who have being charged or arrested in error. regardless if charges are dropped or the record set straight, they still have a record that they shouldn't have had. that record hinders them from advancing and being a benefit to NY society. practically all previous governors have granted truly deserved pardons in the triple digits, while King Cuomo has done enough to count on both hands since the new year began (for his entire term). how many that were arrested for having more than 7 rounds in a 10 round mag will be pardoned after that whole thing remains to be unconstitutional? my bet is on zero. I know this wasn't supposed to be about the SAFE Act but in court Skretny ruled in Cuomo's favor of everything except the 7 round limit, which we all know is ridiculous and puts family's in danger in their own homes, at a severe disadvantage against a dangerous home invader who's will I'm sure would only load 7 to be fair. yet Cuomo is seeking an appeal instead of saying yes the 7 round limit wasn't thought through but everything else is still proclaimed to be law see. I could keep going like I said and be typing here forever. he doesn't serve NY state as governor. his governorship serves him. his ego and drive to self benefit regardless of cost isn't worth his skills as governor. it's severely disappointing too because he has the skills and drive to do a good job. I'd rather take the circus of governors we had before him. they had their obvious faults but at least they loved and served the state as a whole.
  14. oh yea good shooting keep at it. you can French tune with only 20 yards or so for your center shot. for paper tuning a pro shooter Tim Gillingham has told me to paper tune at 5, 15, and 30 feet. I've figured out that you may get slight tears in paper (under 1/2") just because the arrow shafted hasn't settled yet. between doing all that stuff you should be able to get that thing pounding that X when you shoot right.
  15. when I lived out in buffalo I got a full year membership for the range. shot there a lot. good practice as long as you don't let yourself develop bad habits shooting at spots.
  16. I was looking into how much it'd cost to reload 9mm hand gun loads and it started getting close to what I pay for factory stuff at about 25 cents per round.
  17. I was late for the bandwagon. I tried to get into reloading but it'd cost a fortune now and I can't find components reasonably priced to make it even worth reloading.
  18. that's a good thing. I'm more concerned with the economic climate of NY and how it effects me living and working here, because if that's not all fine I'm going to be thinking much about hunting. that said I'm absolutely sure that some voters out there are bowhunters and have a real pet peeve over setback rules. I hate to think that would convince someone to vote for him but it will to a small extent. this is only one thing out of many he's supporting now. the hunting and shooting communities are closely knit and he's just trying to win back as much of it as he can. anyway even if it's supported until the end, which I hope it will be, you still have to tread lightly. if you post up right behind someones back yard and they suddenly feel bothered, I wouldn't expect to track a deer across their yard. in a sense the rules still apply to an extent that you'll probably end up at least talking to them.
  19. One could understand why some are leaving but I'm not. my family on both my parent's sides are all here for the most part. Upstate NY is my home I don't care what Cuomo or Schumer think about me belonging here. They haven't seen extreme. They pump up their chests and tell NYer's how it's going to be. Yet if they left NY to move up the political ladders the gun toting country as a whole would eat them alive! They'd run back to NYC or the confines of their Albany office, curl up in a ball, and cry. I've sent letters very polite and open ended but stating my concerns to Schumer. You should see the amount of ridiculous crap I got back. you pretty much get response that would make someone who didn't read up on any political news there's sunny skies and green pastures as far as the eye can see and it's all because of what he and his entourage did.
  20. I think in some situations that could get pretty uncomfortable. however, he's only doing it to try and win hunter votes. it's an election year.
  21. bucks like that are like winning the genetic lottery. I believe it's possible it was only 3.5 years old. milo hanson's world record buck wasn't any older I think. usually it's 4.5+ year old bucks that blow up into giants but who knows. I know multiple hunters out in the Midwest, who are known for the shooting giants every year, that are concerned that aggressive doe take and decreases in population will limit the chances of this genetic lottery of a chance happening. him killing that deer is definitely lucky and a buck of a lifetime. that said you also have to have your stuff together to kill a deer like that. I mean if the hunting population is after any buck around wayne county it would've definitely been that one.
  22. I'm sure it'd may have been more if it wasn't such a close shot. looks like it's a well performing bullet.
  23. other than apple up here you can get apricot, pear, peach, and cherry trees.
  24. checked out the treelimb. i ended up going with a TightSpot quiver and bracket. It's in the mail.
