  1. Awesome buck.. Those will be beautiful sheds!! Good luck
  2. Thanks for sharing your story.. God bless
  3. Glad you found her... I would've guessed liver to the guts via diaphragm and from what I've read liver shots may take several hours for the deer to expire. I'm very colorblind so i cannot comment on blood trails, i have to get friend's help to track deer!
  4. Just seeing this post now... Congrats on your success what a dandy 8 pointer
  5. Bought a used mathews on eBay a few years from an archery shop all loaded in case ready to go.. Got me into bow hunting, excellent experience...... Bought my second Mathews on Craigslist locally and i was able to customize it.. Sold my first Mathews for 575 when i paid 650 for it... Paid 475 for my second Mathews and still shoot it today. Will definitely hold value is what I'm saying... Best of luck
  6. My trusty old cobra wrist sling snapped in the dark just before climbing into my stand. Nothing duct tape couldn't secure!! Now if only i connected on a deer that day would it make for a good story
  7. depends on the hunting pressure, I have a crowded county so an old doe may be 3.5... I try and let does go but if one doe in particular knows where my stands are or are constantly blowing out the woods she needs to go!!
  8. Late season bucks are always special especially with a bow.. Looks like a great shot. Congrats
  9. Lacrosse alphaburly 1000.. My first pair lasted about 6 years. Just bought another on sale from cabelas. That's if you're into knee high rubbers
  10. Already looking at crossbows for next year.... With the "super moon" we had this year, i had never seen bucks going so crazy during the rut, and i had a monster buck just out of bow range and cruisin... Didn't see a buck older than 1 year old all of gun season!!!
  11. Damn i already clicked like... I was gonna say i can't believe the snow leopard wasn't eating one of the million cattle in the background haha
  12. Wow these doe are huge!! 170 is insane... I shot a doe i thought weighed around 140 this year, she only had a few teeth left.. Had a few strained muscles after that drag
  13. A guy called into a local radio station here, said he was hunting the adjacent property... Apparently the gun discharged while being slung back over the hunter's shoulder and the safety was off??? Again, this is from the radio interview. Please be careful everyone... Very sad for everyone involved.
  14. I am very sorry for your loss but glad you shared that story with us. Despite the fact we are all strangers we are certainly a community that shares a passion, a love of the outdoors, respect fair chase, share our ups, our downs... Glad you and your brother were able to be with your dad on his last day here.
  15. Real tough sight to see but appears a lot of animals had a good meal...
  16. Amazing pics thanks for posting
  17. Monster! Be sure to post his score and dressed weight please I'm very curious... Congrats to you and your buddy!!
  18. I missed a doe at 60 yds with my 30-06... Shot went high.. Looking back I feel that because she was so close I peeked to watch the impact... I'm new to rifle after growing up with shotguns. Lesson learned
  19. Always feels good to see healthy young bucks survive the regular season... Good luck
  20. A big congrats on your two bucks.. A true season to remember... 4 years ago I shot a 141" 11 pointer so it's been tough to beat that since lol... I'll be up at 430am tomorrow trying to fill my buck tag while you're sleeping in!!
  21. Cool buck looks like it's from a mule deer lol
  22. I would've said mid 130s... Beauty of a deer. 4.5 year old?? Congrats from Batavia
  23. Depends on the hunting pressure but similar to your situation our deer use the huge corn field to move across properties. I too am hoping they come out to the cut corn and beans with the temp drop this weekend.. Good luck
  24. Beauty of a deer.. I would taxi him as well. Those gnarly bases are pretty cool, nice spread too. Looks to be 120... Congrats
