It was a much later rut than anticipated i think.. Had 3 does go by before legal shooting time today. 10 mins later he was nose up and down looking all around for them

Wowzers. Ya know something funny, my friend was hunting Rush today, couple miles from me, and had to pass on a buck similar to yours here.. 25 yards away... He was only able to get him on video...... He already has filled his buck tag lol
-
Yes... It comes with a bow mount and gun mount. Takes very good video in 1080. I have the original version, now they're up to version 4.0 I believe
-
Thanks. I would agree... Saw 4 or 5 big bucks cruising the neighborhood this year on a regular basis, this being one of them

Thanks Moog... Shot in Rush

2017 HuntingNY Gun Harvest Thread

Got it done in 8H. I actually missed this buck with my crossbow a couple weeks ago. Had been passing on some smaller bucks since. Had a big doe with twins go by a couple minutes before legal shooting time. 10 mins later he was at 60 yards looking around for the does. First shot as you can see was high and back. Next shot fortunately was lethal. Feel very blessed he decided to come by my stand again. Thanks to everyone on here for always sharing your stories and positivity. Ps: that is a Tactacam on my barrel not a flashlight- 48 replies

I've peed out of my stand and within minutes was surrounded by deer on a few occasions
-
Wowzerz he's huge.. My sweet spots have gone quiet in 8H and 8G. If I had to guess I'd say mature bucks are in the thicket/swamp walking circles until the coast is clear. Best of luck getting him
-
I will be going out however historically the problem is finding a processor open on Thanksgiving. Have all tags in hand still... Good luck everybody

awesome.... congrats!

The Bronx near Fordham U and the zoo... Couple blocks of authentic italian. Pretty diverse part of the bronx now but well worth the stop especially the weekend for dinner... Ps. my dog's name is Enzo

Just had a doe move through at 150 yds... Unfortunately I'm middle of my work day as she walked right behind our office building..

wow that's huuuuge. I drive that same truck and know how big of cargo it takes to fill the bed like that!!!!
-
Sitting in my truck long possible right now. 20-25 mph winds and wet snow in 8H. Don't anticipate sitting long just trying to intercept a buck on his way back bedding
-
A fork buck got a pass at 25 yds however if he kept staring up at me any longer (bad wind) i might've changed my mind!

Predictions on first morning shot and how many..

712 here and probably have heard couple dozen since. Seen 2 buck and 5 doe all out of range/neighbors property -
I agree, the entire trajectory of their bullet should not end up on your property AT ALL. They should be shooting at a down angle. Get in that blind!

someone needs to round up that dog before it dies a bad death -
yes I've been seeing the neighborhood bucks on a 3 day rotation... They'll be on my cam and disappear for a couple of days. Unfortunately I have been in the wrong stand a couple of times this year as a couple of the shooter bucks have been out of range.... so I bet they will surely cover 2 to 3 miles in that time

Mossberg 500 with a Nikon BDC, and later in the season will be using a Remington 700 in 30-06, also with a Nikon BDC. Love shooting sabot slugs tho... -

Relying on tracker/dogs is out of control!
JRod 8G8H replied to New York Hillbilly's topic in Deer Hunting
I agree with much of what you are saying. I do believe this allows people to take risky shots, ultimately non-lethal shots. And yes, I've wounded/lost 2 deer in 10 years and it's the worst feeling in the world. I should've taught my beagle mix to track when he was younger. I am colorblind, more specifically moderately red-green colorblind with difficulty differentiating blues, purples, pinks, browns. I cannot see blood as I don't know what red looks like. So people like me need help, but I call friends to track for me, not dog service. Thanks for sharing -
wow... never seen that before. hoping gun hunters realize she has a young fawn and decide to pass on her. although some people on this forum might want to shoot both... lol.. mom looks healthy.. thanks for sharing
